I added weights on jump # 15 because my fall rate was sub 100. I tried a 5 pound vest and it wasnt enough and then tried a 10 pound belt. Did the trick...got my fall rate up to 116 on the first jump with it and 118 on the second. Not that my advice means anything since im a student but i say try the weights. Whats the point in spending more money trying it without when a few pounds might be what you need. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect

dude...the instability jump was BY FAR my favorite jump!!! Granted just thinking about freeflying gets me all giddy but this jump is fun. I would never say it is okay to be sloppy on anyones pack job. I always do my best to have a "neat" pack job but everyone who lets me pack also knows i am new. Also when you close the containter the strip IS right in front of you, i know i always check this before putting the pilot chute in and after because i always check the pin position. I agree that the packer should catch it if the color is not showing. I also always check with the person i am packing for to see what color i should see because some dont show and if it doesnt show i ask them if they would like to check it before i finish the job. I have packed one step through so far and i did not charge the guy i packed it for. Personal preference though, he doesnt even know i didnt charge him. I just didn't feel right taking money for something i did not do right. thanks dave for backing me up since people didnt believe me...but ya, im not looking for something to cheat with, I just though I would see if anyone else had the same problem and if they did if they had any extra advice. I am already going to work with my instructor using weights. Also a good point about using my legs more than my arms, I will have to work on that. Thanks
