  1. Why don't we just have closed trials? If we continue to eaves drop on the privilege communication we will see who the lawyers call to get the witness wacked. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  2. Only problem with that view is Politicians think they are "serving' us. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  3. Aside from it being a smart safety device, and mandatory for the US Army, no you wouldn't NEED one if the altitude was as planned. I would think every smart skydiver would want at least a visible altimeter with them. Batteries fail, altitudes may not be high enough to set off alarms, helmets come off, audibles get kicked out of ports or plucked free by risers. IMO making any jump with out 1 visible altimeter is just asking not a good idea and sets a bad example to our younger impressionable jumpers. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  4. Dirt on the suit means your working hard. Put dirt on the suit and not your I say! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  5. But the "D" IS a pre-requisite to be PRO, AFF Instructor, Tandem Instructor and for all Course Directors. As far as I can tell in a scanning over several of the license reqs for other countries the US system is the weakest and easiest system of all. I have heard some say do away with the "D" license, I still do not see why nor heard a viable argument. Unless it is no longer a pre-requisite to earn ratings or run Instructor Courses. I think USPA should never have taken "Master" off of it (it did help in dealing with some Federalies), but made it actually truthful with stricter standards. 6. I am gonna be laying base in a big way! Don't pull on me (I'm not) And don't look to me for the break off que! They will push my wheel chair off the ramp of the CASA and we will let it go just a tad early so the trail planes can exit on time. Oh and if the damned nurse puts O2 on the chair any who wants it can have a hit. After its all over put a little dirt on me (make sure you split the gear up ala Alabama gang style). An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  7. Maybe I missed the Republicans calling for a Draft but I sure didn't miss the esteemed DEMOCRAT who had been calling for it last year nd the year before. (Keep in mind I dislike both of the major political parties and hope the smaller ones pick up enough seats in the Senate and HoR to make both idiotic groups take notice) (Yes Professor I know it is EXTREME optimism and wishful thinking) An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  8. Your "G.I. in the Dust" statement would be true if: We G.I.'s in the dust didn't get cultural briefings, Threat briefings, goal briefings, Intel updates as to the changes in tactics, intel updates as to what Islamic Nation has joined the AQ and Iranian efforts, updates (from the same service and Humanitarian Orgs) on Civilian and Military losses. Some of your "G.I.'s in the dust" have been studying the region for 15+ years. It is the Civilian Leadership that needs its eyes opened. An Instructors first concern is student safety. 9. Justin, If you don't get flooded with replies, keep in touch, our team will berebuilding and will need a few to help fill out the ranks for that weekend. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  10. Humor and truth! Explians the guard I saw at the airport the other day! She was hairy and huge! Now the tax thing.. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  11. What I think is funny is the audience reacted better to the "Storm backed by Gilby, Tommy, Jason and Dave Band". She called Super Storm Nova or some thing like that. I thought Lukas should have gone adn then it would have been Toby in a tight race to the win. My 10 year old daughter is the house vote here, if Toby wins we are going to see the band (her plan at least), if any others win, "can we get a dog?" An Instructors first concern is student safety. 12. Well wouldn't that be an interesting toy to get in the mail? (runs for cover and hopes no one has a .50 to loan BB) An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  13. I hope it is a double cut round. With Lukas and either S or D watching the final episode at home. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  14. Congrats Mike!! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  15. Oh come on! What a loud of crap! If you did DS/S and a recent tour in Iraq, you are an older (and one would think MATURE) soldier and would not even consider this a concern. Lighten up Francis! Now go skydive! I would actually be more concerned with some one who hides on the internet and voices "concerns", than some one who is openly pursuing happiness and liberty while enjoying him self in his work. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  16. I would concur with that. It was a time in the US that the actions of Valur needed to be violent to be recognized. But a Medal of Honor could still be awarded, it has happened before. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  17. That would actually make a little sense, since we would hate to harm a "friend" in the war on terror who has "stood beside us" in an effort to "defeat" UBL and AQ. Since the positioning of the Paki Army has allowed UBL to remain free and protected, this could be just as you say, I hope so. Defeating UBL wont kill the AQ, since it is a mutli-headed monster, but it will make it easier since he is the smartest and richest head in the basket. An Instructors first concern is student safety. 18. Don't think Lake Wales is done. It is not, it is just rebuilding! The folks who have been there for years and have visited will come back and make it as good if not better than it was. I will even say that it's recovery will drag my very frugal butt out of TN to make a visit to see friends and even offer to help out in any way my schedule will allow. I say go to Collegiates and say hey to Jim and Lee as well as the other members of the Lake Wales Family! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  19. May he rest in piece. He was innovative and with his daring he got the same result with out the pain of the traditional battle. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  20. OK, we had the same brief just the word "Stopped" was wrong. "Reduced" and "USED FOR REVENUE" is what they did. And we have been fighting a Drug War here in the states how long? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  21. I suspect a bit of exaggeration here. We had more sniper rifles than snipers last trip I was on. Well meaning organization, maybe a few years ago and again in a few years they will be needed to help fill a gap in equipment shortages. Wear is the bigger issue if you ask me. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  22. When did they do that? The briefs prior to the initial deployment specifically pointed out the large number of crops and our LONG involvment in the funding of the farmers during that little thing with the "Rooskies". Maybe the T-ban thought they did, just like our Government thinks it does good too. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  23. Well one should choose the right tools for the job. Jumping at 2k maybe a faster openning 7 cell or old Sabre? or sitting abck down and waiting till the next load whe nthe weather is better. But yeah not looking at the altimeter on you or your buddy prior to exit is pretty damn dumb. Who ever is trying to blame the pilot needs to probably rethink that argument, he didn't force any one to jump and if jumpers fail to look at the altimeter they have how can one blame a pilot? The pilot should relay info, yes, but he is not required to be situationally aware for the jumpers too. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  24. You know you'll ge the Hooter's answer 'cause of the Boobies conection (although some one will make the lame "they got good wings" arguement), the is Bonfire. I like Chilies and Outback Steak House. For me and the Family, we can all be in a different mood for eats, and still be happy. Of course the China King Buffet does get a bunch of our earnings. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  25. Well even if the weather made for a slow start I did had FUN! Icon134 posted a few of the 1-0-1 jump pics in the thread in bonfire for weekend numbers. So what is next huh? huh? huh? Sundays sunset jump was the best! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
