  5. Consider adding University of Wisconsin - Madison. Wonderful University environment, a lot of foreign students, cows, snow, beer, cheese, a couple small dropzones nearby, and Chicago not too far away. Karen
  6. Not that I want to hijack a conversation about harnesses, lines and webbings... but it is for a good cause. "Free" What could be better? besides "free coaching"..... again I ask.... what could be better? besides "free freeflying coaching"..... once again.... besides "free freeflying coaching by a badfish" (sidenote of distraction... do "badfish" like to be spanked?) Tough call - conversation on play or conversation on play Karen
  7. More women on the site, yes.... But more women worthy of competing for "best"?! That's a hard goal. Maybe we need more posts on the male site..... Come on... there's was only two pictures on that one and lots and lots and lots here... and still, you claim not enough....
  8. Sorry... I didn't mean to hijack the hijack.
  9. A quick scan on skydiving movies found this from the past (two like spirits that want to share their passion for life) -"That's about all there is to that" http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/uploads/badfish_vid3.mpeg Karen
  10. I like historical military style firearms too. I think the M1 Carbine is just cute!! I have one or two in my collection. The M1 Garand is a nice gun too - but they bite. (I used it on the drill team when I was inn ROTC and during a toss - from an overzealous cadet in front of me, the front site of one took a chunck out of my forehead) But I agree... they are pieces of history.

    Do I

I think it looks fine. I wouldn't worry too much. If they're friends, then it doesn't matter what you look like.... it should be deeper than that. And it's not like you're trollin for sky-chicks, cuz you already have one. So don't worry about it. It does look like you, kinda - but remember, the last time I saw you, you were on a few meds just out of the OR.... Karen
  12. Not all do. Personally being raised Roman Catholic (but not currently practicing), I've had many philosophical discussions with varied beliefs. I am not uncomfortable with examining my thoughts, because I'm willing to admit that I could be wrong. I find that considering other beliefs and trying to understand the why's behind their opinions is helpful in understanding the why's (or the lack of why's) in your thoughts. A rather a blanket assumption. Maybe they were offering just so that you could better understand their perspective.
  13. You are too sweet. Leave it to Beaver (1957 - first season), yup too young to have seen that on original release. But Happy Days (1974 - First season) and Mork and Mindy (1978- fisrst season) ... saw them in person ... It's amazing where the years have gone....
  14. what comments? -cocheese. (see, cheese can be good!!!)
  15. Thoughts.... What is mysticisim? It's the act of trying to understand the "unknown." Beliefs of today are different from a hundred years ago and will be different at a hundred years in the future. We, as creatures, try to understand, to apply logic, to have meaning... and sometimes there aren't answers. So rather than admit that we are ignorant, we make it up. "The sun rises because the Gods deem it so as their will." "The flood came to rid the world of evil." "He/She got sick and died because of the 'evil eye'." I am willing to admit there are many aspects of life that I know very little about.... Why do some people die in a tragedy, but others might survive - luck? intervention? God? I don't know. I have no firm proof on those answers. But I hope that the answer has more to do with just random numbers.... I hope that theres a level beyond what I can see and understand.... I believe that there is more to life than just electrical impulses for 40-60 years and then *poof* no more. Is that Mysticism? Is that "religion"? Or is it just hope that there is a purpose..... Karen
  16. I didn't think anyone but me was old enough to remember who he was! Now you're making me feel old! Next thing you know, you'll be telling me Mork and Mindy is old too... and the Fonz.... And that there is no Great Pumpkin!
  17. This will be my favoritest thread.... There's just something about nice broad shoulders... (and the comments made me laugh harder than I have all weekend... I even started choking a little I was laughing so hard.)
  18. Best advice I would have to give is just be yourself. Try to make her happy, smile, ect.... but not at the expense of being someone different from who you are. If you're not natrually a flowers and candy guy, then do the humor thing. Love (or something like it) has so much more to do with compatible personalities than flattery. If you snag her with gifts and then 2-3 month from now she realizes that you aren't that kind, then starts the "what have you gotten me lately?" Besides, not all girls are wanting to be spoiled (ok, maybe a little lie there) Karen
  19. Nope! Just a drinking party! edit to add: How about Friends in Low Places?
  20. No... they sings pretty like.
  21. Second verse - Everybody sing!!
  22. "We apologise for the inconvenience"
  23. Though salvation is an end that (IMO) most will receive, it is never to be considered justification for arriving at that point. (Again, IMO) But the above scenario describes Jesus on the cross.... so then God must have felt that the ends justified the means.....
