The hospital here in Z Hills was very nice. The nurses were sweet and usually pretty quick with the pain meds! The ortho really rocked. He was a great guy that I developed a lot of confidence for. Everything went very smooth. Not that I'm saying that you should vacation here.... but rather understand that even though it's a smaller hospital, I felt that it gave top notch care.

Ahh.... Thanks all! Knowledge and skill - two very separate issues. As mentioned before, at least it's only a broken ankle..... what should I expect when I throw myself at the Earth and NOT miss. ACME - I was told that either I fix it at this time or I have to wait a week for the surgery. And when I started asking about quick flying up home to get it fixed... not met with approval. So not the fact that I was a cool dr..... just the break itself determines surgery timing. Thanks again, all

HAPPY NEW YEAR LISA!!! I am now awake and sober... does that count?

I can't bitch to you about my life.... cuz in the big scheme, things are truly nice... but one patient last night was admitted through the ER at 1:30am.... nausea and vomitting for 4 days straight. Small bowel obstruction. Had to have them put a tube down her nose to decompress her tummy. another patient through the ER - consult for miscarriage. Planned pregnancy, excited, happy, joyous.... devastated. Those women are having a bad time right now. (I hope that makes you feel better about the bad day. Not that I'm saying that you feel better about their pain, rather putting things in perspective sometimes helps)

Ask them to call in a rx for some ambien. By the sound of it, most likely a community acquired bacterial pneumonia. Which having had both bacterial and atypical.... I would take bacterial anyday of the week. (the atypical - mycoplasma pneumonia - just dragged on for weeks and months......) I would rather feel BEAT but then quickly recover than the low level of exhaustion forever. Take care. Find some cabana boys.... and try to sleep.
-
Sleep! Sleep is VERY good when sick. Lots of it. Pneumonia is bad (like I need to be telling you that but I am curious, what kind of pneumonia?) It's amazing how much you appreciate normal breathing when every breath is an adventure. Rest well. Let the body heal.

Watching a scary movie in the theater with a family of six or seven behind me. Lil five year old Maria watching aliens impregnate pregnant women and have the lil alien babies explode out her pregnant uterus.... seven year old Ricky and his friend/brother talking while the Predator takes on the main Alien.... imagining the Christmas night questions of Julia asking "Mommy, did EVERYBODY in that movie die? Even the babies?" When going to movies like that - GET A BABYSITTER!!!! (sometimes I wonder about some of the people that are "parents")
-
Hopefully, your Christmas present will be your daughter getting the help that she deserves without anyone truly getting hurt or dying. I'm truly sorry for the situations.

It looks like Buddy Christ! "Catholicism Wow!" -Viewing the crucifix image is "wholly depressing" Ya know... maybe we shouldn't mock the boy on his birthday.

I kinda did... and he ate every last bit up. So, it couldn't have been too horrid. (besides.... its really hard to ruin cruchy taters and scrambled eggs)

You're right... I typically do add sausage or bacon to it, but just didn't have anything this morning that I wanted to throw into it. But... even still the coriander/cilantro/dhania was a wonderful accent taste thingie. (I think.... but since no one else has voted.... then it must be right!)
-
Actually dhania might be better

No OB/Gyn stuffs... I was supposed to be out of town, so my partners are covering for the holiday (I took Thanksgiving). So... today I just have to relax
-
OK... so this morning, I decided to do something that I don't typically do. Yes.... I cooked. (I can cook... I just don't do it often, and soon you'll see why) I diced lil red potatoes, and sauteed them in butter with green onions and coriander. Once they were cooked but still crunchy (I love crunchy potatoes), then I added eggs, milk, cheese and spices (bit of this and touch of that... garlic, caraway, salt, peppers). Fried it all up and said SURPRISE!!! Only to hear that coriander and eggs don't mix. I thought it was yummy! What are other opinions?

I was planning to go up to Wisconsin to visit family during the holidays, but the storm front that came through over the weekend nixed that trip. But... relaxing in my own home, no structured schedules, just time off to unwind..... is VERY nice too! Besides.... my sweet lil niece is sick with some flu, so she's just gonna want to sleep and sleep and sleep some more anyway. Today, I'm just going to curl up at home and relax.
