Get trace 101 and follow the progression of the freefly basics bit. Headup rules, stick with it for a while, I'm just starting on a bit of headdown now here and there after 108 headup and tracking jumps. But am no where near where I wanna be with headup still, so still concentrating on it mainly. One thing that is cool to try is a solo track off jump run and gradually make it steeper and steeper as you go, you will end up in the atmonauti pos then you can take it to headdown for a sec then back to tracking, this should keep you out of others airspace too. Then dump high and fly the shit out of your canopy, get your moneys worth!!! I would have thought it would be safer caus they stand up the landings, rather than landing on the butt, which can result in a broken coccyx(not sure if i spelt it right). Seen this happen. I agree, I tried backtracking the first time while solo tracking (forgot about that). It also why I start this all at 6500 so I have a bit extra for error. I guess at first when starting to do 2-ways it would be best to go from sit to recovery, back, belly, belly track. I think this would be better than going straight to belly from a sit like I did when I started doing 2-ways. Gets you checking the airspace above you as you slow down so you don't cork people later on (I guess). Maybe on the first few solos it would be good to go from sit to recovery to belly, just to keep it simple. Feel free to critique this, I won't be offened. I would like to tutor one day so I like to think about what I would tell the student to do. Hello, I was told to compress my sit into the recovery position, then extend legs and flaten out to the backtrack, do that for a bit to watch the other person tracking off, then flip to belly track, track a bit more arch and dump. I start this at about 6500ft. If your jumping on your own then you could leave out the tracking from this but do the rest. eg. Sit, Recovery pos, Back, Belly, Dump. When I was learning(still am) at first I went out in the recovery position for exit. If you get trace 101, the babalon freefly DVD they have a great section on freefly basics. Its also has good examples of what to do at track off time. Couldn't recomend it more. In fact I think I might watch it tonight. Have fun. As you might notice I don't have many jumps also, so ask someone with more before you do anything to be sure.
