I'm with Skybytch on this one, I've done lots of traveling to different DZs in the above mentioned states. I sure didn't see lots of parties during the jumping hours, or even after the jumping is done for that matter. Just how many different DZs in those states have you been to? What do you have to back up your claim? If it was a joke, it's not a nice one, as there are low timers that post here from DZs in those states that might not get the joke. Please, be careful what you post in the more serious forums. wow, I'm sorry, it was just a joke! I have never been to any dz's in the above mentioned places, I don't think you need to warn me about joking about that, it's no big deal, Low timers might not get the joke? what's not to get? I was completely joking about the more partying going on in those 3 states--if I were a big partier, those states would definitely come to my mind for parties (more like boogies, than weekend parties, AS well as places where some incredibly skilled people jump) --all I was saying, is that I'm more into jumping than the partying afterwards, and GUESS WHAT? I'll probably move to Cali after college, so I can jump! Isn't that ironic? edit to add: Since I'd love to live someplace warm ,sunny, w/ beaches ( like SoCal), I'd much rather party there, then some place freakin cold like South Dakota, where I'm originally from. :2:1? : One awesome karoake song w/ my rigger, sung "Love Shack" 2: Sean, Clayton and I all were planning to make a round in the air--Sean couldn't catch me, AGAIN, I fall fast! Clayton got close to me, touched my leg in freefall, even though I never saw him or Sean until under canopy. 2nd jump, Clayton and I docked, matched fall rates a few times, docked again, did a right 360 turn. and docked and held it until break off. I'm such a newbie, my 2nd jump of the day was so awesome, it felt great to be able to fly and adjust my fall rate. First jump w/ a throw out pilot chute, first jump on a 170 (I've been jumping 220's, 190) Had 2 standup landings, one awesome landing on the Sabre 170--it felt great! wonderful weekend, met some cool guys (Jason from Raeford---very amusing sense of humor ) Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Right on, pajarito. Nobody can take ANYTHING with them when they die, and things like trophies, records, etc, SOMEONE will probably always find a way to one up you. The only thing you can really leave behind is what you did to love others and make that love known to them. Everything else will just burn up, deteriorate, or become crap! Hey grue! If you do a search, you'll find lots of answers to your question,ie, winter jumps. I know this because I don't want to freeze up north while I'm desperately waiting to come home to OK after Christmas break. (wear lots of layers, use lined gloves w/ grips--make sure you can still grab your hackey, toggles,etc) edit to add: there's a guy at my dz that likes to wear a facemask, and though we kid with him about looking like a terrorist/bank robber, I imagine he stays pretty warm. Yeah, I wanna have lots of fun too, but lately I've realized how much of MY life depends on ME ME ME! I have lived so much of my life selfishly, I want to learn how to become more selfless, giving, and serving. When I die, I don't want to hear: "man she knew how to have fun and laugh"---and that's it. So guys, here I am again in SC, I had to come back because I wanted to ask you guys a question to get you thinking. What do you believe is the purpose of your life? What are the things that you live for, for example, when people are at your funeral and are saying things about you, what will they say the reason for your existence was? I know this might not necessarily generate a lot of answers, since it IS a deep question, ( and some people avoid talking about this issue) but I am extremely curious to hear some of your answers.
