hmm, for the purpose of this poll, let's say someone who has done more than just one tandem. Kiss away! edit: oops! I'm not just encouraging that! but it sure is fun... Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Alright, let's see your numbers. How many fellow jumpers have you kissed, on the ground and in freefall? ( may be a simple cheek kiss or something a little more fun) Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

I do my legstraps first, working my way up my body. Legstraps, cheststrap, helmet, goggles, rig, pin check. Bottom to top always works for me! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

Who Are Your Skydiving Heroes/Mentors?
windcatcher replied to skykittykat's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hmmm, who are my skydiving heroes/mentors? well, even though I only have 30 jumps so far, I have been in the sport for 4 years,so I would have to give credit to my ex-boyfriend for showing me the "free" part of freeflying and taking time to answer all my skydiving questions. Also, my rigger and AFF Instructor Spanky, who is always there to help me get in the air, answer my questions and he's given me such great advice for improving my freefalling skills. Also, JC Colclasure and other members of the Pro Swoop Tour, I've seen such awesome footage of what they do and it's so inspiring. I think that's about it for now, I'll be adding to the list as my jump numbers go up. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... -
My goals just for this year: 1. Get my own rig ( should have it all together in 2 months) 2.Get my A license 3.Get to 100 jumps 4.Attend WFFC 2005, maybe Eloy if Nate comes w/ me 5.Attempt my first freefly jump (#101) 6.Improve my track 7.Do a kiss-pass w/ a special friend 8. Meet some of the interesting dz.commers I've chatted w/ and jump w/ a few of them I think that's about it for now... I just wanna jump my butt off!!!! (oh, and jump in Scotland since I plan on studying there next fall) Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

What age will you stop skydiving if any.
windcatcher replied to reddevil1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes, I plan on skydiving till my body can't hold an arch and throw my pilot chute, or until I die. Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... -

I am looking for a container and don't have my parachutist nearby, but since I have extra time I'd like to check out his website. (his ads are always in parachutist) Thanks~ Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world... -
Yes, many skydivers I have met are very generous and willing to do a lot to get you in the air and just to have fun at the dz. Personally, I love giving, that's why I can't wait to get a good paying job so I actually have more to give. However, when you don't have money as a student, seems people can appreciate even the littlest things. I love the fact that even though this is an expensive sport, skydivers can give and share freely, well, some of em anyway. It's great to see fellow jumpers helping out newbies. can't wait till I'm off newbie status so I can help the newbies... Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

This sport is so awesome, it's great to see people helping each other out all the time. So far, I've had an audible altimeter given to me, as well as a free jump certficate from 10k, free rides and meals galore, and people helping me to find gear to jump, whether it be using a rig for a few jumps to knock off the gear rental fee or at least make the price go down, and a guy driving out to the dz so he could mail me my logbook, and also providing a place to crash and helping me to get a ride out to the dz; and getting free video and stills too! Thanks to all my fellow jumpers, I love you guys!!! You reap what you sow, love that principle. If you give, you ARE gonna receive. So, what cool things have other skydivers done for you? I was about to suggest Windcatcher, but it seems she already has... Thanks Frenchy!!! Don't you know I only go after guys with at least a few thousand jumps?!!! HOW DARE YOU!!! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

wahoo! So happy for ya little dixie---let us know how everything goes over there ( especially the skydiving!) I am planning on studying abroad next fall, either Scotland or Austrailia. My RA is going to Scotland and would love to have someone w/ her, so that's incentive for me to, since I'll know someone. But Scotland has no skydiving! ( at least according to dz.com) oh well, have fun and STUDY somewhat while you're there! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

I don't really have a new resolution, but since it is the beginning of the year, I am more inspired to follow through with my goals: ---get my A license ---get back to running 6 miles a few times a week ----give more of myself away, through money, donations, time, volunteering ----get better grades this semester ----make an effort to prioritize my relationships ----and MOST importantly, make my jump numbers go through the roof ( at least for a college student that is) Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
