  1. I wish:7:90 Seven awesome jumps on saturday. Brought 90 first-timers to SDC for the Madcity Leapfest. Yes, the party was awesome, as usual. Madcity and SDC rock. 4. I've got $5 that says she does it before she reaches 1000 jumps. And she's only got six to go, assuming she didn't jump today. 6. I'm doing both. I flew with a rookie RW team this summer, and practiced freeflying whenever I got the chance. I've found it works well -- my pool of potential jump partners is much larger than if I'd only pursued one or the other. I'd like to think it makes me a better skydiver, as I am forced to keep up with people in any orientation. Plus I'm learning from different people all the time, so my knowledge pool is large. There's nothing saying you have to do one or the other. Just do what's fun. 12. I took a ground class this summer. The kites are really powerful, and you need to learn how to control them before you go out on the water or ice. It's fun, but not nearly as fun as jumping. I guess I'll try ice kiting this winter, seeing how there's nothing else to do in the Wisconsin winter but drink. 14. If you don't know what the beeping in your ear means, you probably shouldn't be using an audible. That being said, I started with one audible, got used to being aware of (and predicting) the beeps, then added a second in the other ear. They are set for the same altitude for the breakoff and pull warnings, and 500 feet off for the final siren. If both of those are going off (god forbid), I'm going for my handles. 22. Hi cynci. I help run the Madcity Skydivers, the club from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I would not hold your breath waiting for the administration to green light funding. We do not get any of our funding from the university, and are totally self-reliant. The key is to partner up with a dz and get a good deal. If you save people $50 or so, you can then charge them $10 or $20 as club fees. Madcity uses that money for gas, food, and beer, and we've never had any complaints. If you'd like some ideas for getting people interested/involved, PM me.
