Dove, I did like the jumpsuit. It definetly stands out. You are right, Roy is awesome. He got me my rig and I jump with him every weekend. I doubt if I will be up this weekend. I am taking the weekend off from work but I am going to Naples because it is close. We are trying to arrange night jumps on New Years Eve. I will be up to Lake Wales and to Z Hills soon though and I will try to contact you so we can jump. You freefly mostly don't you? Nathan

I just had my first one on Monday and it was just reflex. We were all trained on how to do it and we think about it probably every jump because we had not had one. I tried to get the line twists out and I looked at my altimeter and I was at 2k so instincts kicked in and I just grabbed my handles and cutaway. I went back into freefall for about two seconds, looked up and my red pd reserve was the best thing I can remember seeing for a long time. I was not that freaked. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Just go through the drill during your dirt dive and in the plane before exit and it is just natural. You don't even think about it.

Dove, I remember you! I was on the ten way. I had the Black and White Mirage G3 with the Black and Blue Jumpsuit. I saw you land off when I landed. Glad to know you were safe. Unfortunately I had to come back to work today so I will not be there again this week. We are getting our King Air back this weekend in Naples so I will be there. Do you come to Florida often?
-
Dove, were you the person with the new jumpsuit? ...Beer

My cutaway was yesterday though. Right after the Knights Members malfunction. There was two that day and not from Lake Wales packing. The Knights member packed his and a friend of mine packed mine. It was my first jump of the day. The packers at Lake Wales gave me six great openings!!!!!!

I was there for the third and fourth loads today. I was with the ten way from Naples. We went first before the Army Knights. Were you there for those loads?

A group of friends and I went to Skydive Lake Wales over the holiday and I had my first reserve ride. I was in a stable body position after tracking from an 8 way. I deployed and I immediately starting turning out of control. I got stable again but could not untangle the lines so at 2k I chopped. The Lake Wales staff immediately had people out in the pasture searching for my canopy and freebag. Luckily they found them both. I went to the riggers and they not only had my reserve repacked within two hours but they gave me a demo rig almost exactly like the one I have to jump with while they packed. I figured if I waited I might not jump again that day so I went up on the next load. Just wanted to say thanks to Lake Wales and to PD for making a reliable reserve. Nathan -"Why do I always owe beer?"

Just a quick note that Skydive Naples replaced the Westwind with a King Air. Come out this weekend for the inaguration! This is the first time anyone has jumped out of a King Air "at" Skydive Naples so everyone owes beer! Nathan www.skydivenaples.com

Cal Roy at 1-877-Top-Rigs. He will recommend / provide you with the best canopies at a reasonable price. Great service and free delivery the month of December. Nathan

The color scheme is white and black with the G3 Logos all over it. It is a Unisyn and it is chromed out like a Harley. The canopy is Neon Yellow with a little orange in it. Reminds me of Olav's.

I sent an e-mail to Roy Torgierson at Rigs and Things Paraservice informing him that I was ready to purchase a new rig and I gave hime my budget, which was not outrageous! About ten minutes later I received a reply that stated..."I will see you tomorrow at Skydive Naples and I have a deal you can not resist." I went to the dz and received a brand new Mirage G3 Chromed out like a Harley. Has every option you can choose! It came with a PD Spectre 170 which is loaded at 1.3 and a PD 160 Reserve. I am a U.S.P.A. "B" licensed skydiver and I am on Cloud 9! Call or visit Roy at www.para-service.com for the best gear. Visit www.skydivenaples.com for the dz of Southwest Florida! Nathan

So because you are in Atlanta and you "freefly"? you are a god. If it came down to it and we met each other I would say you would take that back. I and no one else at this dz is a geek. I moved down here in February from Atlanta and I will be back over the holidays and I can not wait to meet you!!! Nathan

I think what she is really talking about is she is "skydiving" a rodeo this weekend? I have not heard anything about him in a long time other than he got a divorce so maybe she is dating him! Anyway, she looks fine in her picture. Natrone Skydive Naples small dz with big / friendly dz atmosphere...at least that is what the women say!!

Great Website / Great DZ! Let's not turn this into a webguru page. Remember that the reason why we skydive is because it is a release from our everyday lives which might turn into our everyday lives someday :-). The people who designed this page design computer programs for Fortune 500 companies everyday. They did it right...very right. The dz is awesome...very awesome. They did this on their own in their own time with nothing but the love of Skydiving in their minds and hearts. They did this in their "free" time because they love the sport and this dz. This is what you will find at Skydive Naples! I am still a "newbie" with only 40+ jumps but this is what any Skygod or "Newbie" will find with the people and the dz! If you really want to assist in the website and see what our culture / family is like come to the Boogie November 16, 17 and 18th where we will have the largest formation skydive ever at this dz! We will also be having a Turkey Mee(a)t Potluck Thanksgiving Weekend which will include a Baton Pass with teams of two including Experienced (100+) and Novice jumpers. Nathan

I went through the IAF progression at ASC and I had to discuss my thoughts. This dz has good gear, good Instructors, good video / camera equipment and jumpers, etc. The heart of the organization is the Mullins Boyz. I know they were raised as skydivers and that is what they do year around. They have the Mullins King Air whenever I have been there. I have also jumped from a Skyvan and Grand Caravan. There are Skygods there who believe they are above everyone else. Ben Butler and Cary Quattarochi believe they they have super human powers. I have been there a few times but this is what I see. I do not care how many jumps someone has or how good you are. We are all equal. Justin Silva (Tandem Master) and Mike Gruwell (Instructor and Mr. Pink Team Member) have my thoughts as well. Hans Paulsen (Swoop Competitor) will not admit it but he hates the political bullshit.

There is a new website for Skydive Naples. Visit www.skydivenaples.com for more info. This is THE BEST dz in Southwest Florida. No, I do not work there and no one asked me to say this. They have the best atmosphere, instructors, planes, etc. I love looking at the Gulf of Mexico on the plane ride up. I have peace of mind because I know either Alex or Lisa packed my canopy and Roy and Terry are laughing and relaxing with the Tandems. The experienced jumpers are the best and jump with everyone no matter how many jumps they have. Everyone is included!

Ok. I was supposed to be in Atlanta visiting my newly born nephew during Skydive Naples Boogie weekend but I am going to have to leave earlier and make it back. It is November 16th, 17th, and 18th for all of you who do not know. However, after the water training this past weekend and the relationships that we are building at this dz, I will not miss it. For all of you jumping in Southwest Florida, this is the new DZ to go to. Excellent planes, Instructors, Riggers, and Jumpers. There are NO such things as Skygods. Those who "are" at other DZ's are at home here and willing to train, instruct, and fun jump with anyone. If you have tried them out previously and switched, they are under new management and this is a different place.

Beech Westwing, 14 skydivers to 14k in 10 minutes. Cessna 182, We all know this story. Helicopter, $735 an hour...$135 a Jump so it will not be there. C-License+ Beach Jumps...Not Happening. It WILL be a great weekend for Skydive Naples. I have to be somewhere else that weekend so unfortunately I will not be around to meet or jump with you all. If you are going be sure to call Roy at Rigs and Things Paraservice for any item you have been thinking about or waiting to purchase. -Nathan

Mike, Call Alex at the dz to discuss the possibilities of a beach jump if you are interested. We have not done one yet but if you or anyone else meet the USPA and his dz requirements he might arrange one if enough people are interested. I want to make it clear that I was making a suggestion and the beach jumps have not been arranged but if you or anyone else is interested contact him. It is going to be a great weekend no matter what. As for the hotel, there are not many around Immokalee and Naples is about 30 minutes away. A lot of jumpers stay here and we hang out at the Chickee Bar at night. Hope you make it down and look me up for a jump! Nathan

I am new to the sport...I started last November in Atlanta and moved here in February. However, we are completing the water training next week and we will be beach jumping soon. I believe the requirements are a "B" License although I could be wrong.
