When was your first Off DZ Landing

223 jumps and 3 off DZ landings. All 3 were perfect standups with no unfortunate fallout beyond the fact that I didnt make the next load. I can live with that Make your decision with plenty of altitude to spare and you'll be able to set up a nice safe approach and landing. I dont see those as a natural progression for everyone. My desire is to continue to improve my flying. I really have no desire to downsize to a postage stamp and swoop the pond or strap a camera on my head. I'm a long way from "moving on" to anything since at 223 jumps I have barely scratched the surface of the things I have now. I cant speak for the average skydiver. Only myself. I dont know who the average skydiver is. Maybe I am, maybe not. but to answer the question, yes. I have thoroughly thought it through. __ My mighty steed

I've been off smoking for 5 years now and I cant possibly tell you how happy I am about it. I never miss it anymore and I feel sorry for the group of knuckleheads that have to trudge outside in their little smoking group to feed that monkey every hour. There a couple of very good looking women in that group and as soon as I see a smoke in their hand ALL the appeal is gone. No shit. No joke. Its ugly, it stinks, its expensive, and it kills. Its stupid. They had my ass on 2 packs a day for almost 25 years and I dont even want to think about how much of my hard earned $$ they got in that time. Now I'm free and they can kiss my ass

Hang tough. Seperation is hard. When I moved back to the states from BC, Canada my wife and step son remained in BC for 18 months until I got well established and brought them here. We only had about 3 visits during that time. It was hard. Very hard. Almost too hard. We made it, though. If we survived 18 months apart, you (and Caedmon and your wife) can make it till June

I've had my new rig equipped with a Vigil. Got it 2 weeks ago now It hasnt saved my life nor has it killed me I have faith that its a good, reliable unit. I would have felt equally confident with a Cypres. Everything else being equal, the Cypres had the advantage of being waterproof while the Vigil has a longer life span and lower maintanance costs. The price difference is not significant enough to have been a factor in my desicion. __ My mighty steed

Not me. Wont do any jump naked. People might ask "Why wouldnt you?" To them I say "Why would I?" ISnt skydiving always a risk vs reward porposition? Well jumping naked adds risk, and I see no compensatory increase in reward aside from showing people what a "wild and crazy" guy I am and I have no particular use for that. If anyone else has a desire to see what I look like naked, give me some money and I'll send you a photo __ My mighty steed

I have a question about license numbers

Probably the same reason my A number is 17647 but I've only list that I've been in the sport for a few years. I got my A license back in 1989 and then quit jumping until 2003 I dont think its reasonable to list that I've been in the sport for 16 years, because I really havent.
