I saw a lot of this when I was building a PHP/MySQL logbook. I replaced any variables that represented paths with full path names and the trouble stopped. The variables were valid and they should have worked, but they just didnt. Try replacing all path variables with hard coded full pathnames... I think the problem was that when a file called or included another file, the environments didnt always get passed properly __ My mighty steed

No jump is naked. Not 100, not 1000, not 10000 nothing in between. Naked jumps are stupid. Its that simple. __ My mighty steed

This has not been my experience. I've bought 2 completely brand new rigs in the last 3 years and paid a fee for the assembly in both instances. I didnt feel bad though. It was a modest fee for a service rendered and I felt good about it. I knew they would do it right. __ My mighty steed

A Steinway baby grand piano. Old friend asked me to hold it for her while she went out of the country for a few months. I didnt hear from her again for 16 years. She wanted her piano back. I gave it back. __ My mighty steed

AN 2 jump. Do you want it at the WFFC?
ChrisL replied to Fleahop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I believe that I read in the forum on WFFC site that they are already planning to get an AN2 or that they are trying to get one. Its not yet on their list of confirmed aircraft, but if I'm understanding it right they are trying to get one... __ My mighty steed -
A simple question that doesnt seem to have any kind of simple answer that I can find. I've never itemized before so forgive me if this sounds stupid, but I just dont know this. Besides my house taxes and interest, what else can I deduct legitimately given that I do not own or operate my own business? __ My mighty steed

Dude, you are preaching to the choir. Maybe you should read my post before you respond to it First off, I did not say that Sabre2's are known for hard openings, I said that I have heard people say that they are. I also clearly state that I do not agree with those that say that in spite of one very hard opening that I did experience on a Sabre2. I attributed that to packing error. People DO say it. I believe they are wrong, but like it or not they do say it. __ My mighty steed

some do, some dont. The bullet slows down rapidly and stops and sinks to the bottom. Point blank it can still kill, but the effective range is a teeny fraction os what it is in air __ My mighty steed

Depends on who you ask. I've heard many people say this and they said it about Sabre2's as well as Sabres. I dont happen to agree though. I had two of them and neither of them were hard opening canopies. I did have one SERIOUSLY hard opening on a Sabre2 190 that actually grounded me for a couple months but I firmly believe that it was a packing issue and not something specific to Sabre2's __ My mighty steed

As a gear "consumer" I'll second that sentiment enthusiastically. I've made almost all my gear purchases through "the middle man" and I've never been disappointed. Not only do the prices tend to be better, but the service is WAY better. I think the reason is that most dealers can offer you basically the same prices as each other so they get and try to keep customers through providing superior customer service. I've dealt with several dealers over the years and in no instance did any question I had go unanswered, no matter how trivial they might have seemed. Additionally, most good dealers today are concerned about the safety of jumpers too and will take pains to educate people about what they should be using at a given level of experience rather than just selling them anything they ask for no matter how ridiculous. The manufacturers, while mostly cool, just dont provide that level of service to the "end user" I dont really think they want to. Thats why they offer dealers much lower prices. They are encouraging jumpers to buy through dealers rather than pester them directly. Also, when buying an entire rig, dealing with 3 or 4 manufacturers could be a giant pain in the ass. A good dealer makes the process painless and easy. Dealers get my vote

Other than to just have it, no. There is no advantage to having the B if you have your C If you dont have the jump numbers for a C there are advantages to getting the B though as it entitles you to do night jumps and if you are over 100 jumps you can get a coach rating as well. I just got my C a few weeks ago. Never bothered with the B since I didnt really feel like doing night jumps or beinga coach. I aint good enough to coach anyone __ My mighty steed

1.2 isnt crazy, but given an average of 26 jumps a year you arent terribly current most of the time. That fact would tend to make me suggest you err on the side of caution. Lose those extra lbs or get a larger canopy and keep it around 1:1 I put on some weight last year, and rather than just have my WL increase, I bought a larger canopy. I cut that weight off again and now I'm returning to the smaller size canopy. As a bodybuilder I have bulking and cutting phases. I dont want my WL bouncing up and down just because my weight does... __ My mighty steed
