There was indeed. Several notable vendors didn't attend the convention. That didnt affect my decision to go and I had a totally awesome time.

Full story: ABC If scientists developed a pill that would erase traumatic memories from your brain, would you take one? My bad memories are part of what makes me who I am. __ My mighty steed

Sad but true. The added safety is not magically bestowed simply by having these devices in our rigs. We have to choose to skydive as if we did not have them in order to take advantage of the added safety they offer. Thats what I try to do, and I believe that because of that I do offset the risk just a touch more than if I didn't have them. __ My mighty steed

That should not be confused with "Dont get a skyhook, because if you do you would be tempted to cut away really really low". I think some folks are of that very mindset. Thats the same mindset that thinks the added safety features we have available today actually make people less safe because they will then push the envelope farther than they would otherwise. Fact is, if we take advantage of the additional safety things like the skyhook offer by exercizing common sense, not relying on them to save our asses, and NOT pushing the envelope farther we actually ARE safer. __ My mighty steed

Could be trouble. Could be no big thing. You might be getting ahead of yourself. Cant say I wouldnt do the same thing, but then someone would probably tell me that I might be getting ahead of myself

How to address someone who has created an unsafe situation.
ChrisL replied to DAVE619's topic in The Bonfire
Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Even skygods. If I screwed up and someone approached me in this aggressive, loud, confrontational, and humiliating fashion, I would hurt them. Give respect, get respect in return. It's as simple as that. An old lady screwed up a few weeks ago and rear ended me on the road. Should I have gotten all up in her face because she did something unsafe that could have resulted in me being injured? Grow up. __ My mighty steed -

Did you learn on a Cruiser in order to have that opinion? I learned on my Harley Fat Boy and it was a cake walk. Softails have such a low center of gravity they handle awesomely at low speed, parking lot driving and are rock steady on the highway. I cant imagine a better bike to learn on. __ My mighty steed

Was that a skyhook deployment? 150 feet from cutaway to open reserve is pretty damn fast. __ My mighty steed

I cant take too seriously anyone that thinks they know what I "should" like and compiles a 200 item list telling me what they are. __ My mighty steed

Openings are not "loooong". They are sweet and consistently on heading. I've owned 2 Sabre2's and neither one of them could make those claims. The Sabre2's opened squirrely (off heading to varying degrees) more often than not, but they flew and landed great. Sabre2 is a good canopy, but if you are specifically lookin for a comfy, consistent opening canopy then Pilot is better than Sabre2 __ My mighty steed
