As far as I know, everything is fine there. I haven't heard anything, nor have I checked with anyone at SDC yet, but it looked like the storm passed just south of Ottawa. SDC is technically in unincorporated Dayton, a bit north of Ottawa. There were weather alerts all night showing the paths the storms were taking, and Ottawa looked just barely clear of it. Only one twin otter is in town, and its kept inside the hangar, (a substantial building to say the least.) I was a little more worried about the campground since we have several semi permanent residents. They would have all gone to the basement of the hangar if the storm was passing over. maura

My post wasn't directed at anyone (or anyone's kids) in particular. Just a general statement. People with the worst behaved kids usually don't recognize it. Sorry if I come off as anti-child. I do like kids, even though I don't have any of my own and probably never will. My friends and family that do have kids would tell you I am one of the best Aunties in the world! But I've seen more than enough unsupervised kids running around the dz to know its a problem. I'd like to think my dz has a handle on the issue right now, but we've had our share of problems! There are lots of kids there every weekend, and the parents seem to work together to make sure they are looked after properly. Its great to watch the little ones grow up, week after week, year after year! Someone else posted "rules" that she and her child follow when they are at the DZ. I thought they were great- very basic, very much common sense! If every parent who brought their kids out to the dz had a similar set of rules, kids would be welcome at more dzs. maura

Angela, In my experience, parent's whose kids fall into category B- Hellions- seem to think the opposite, their kids are angels and we should all be honored by their presence! Sad, since this thread is really about them but they won't recognize themselves or their kids!

Those are great rules which should be published and adhered to at every dz!

My broken ankle is around 30K now and I still have more PT and probably another surgery in a few months to remove hardware. That's for the ER, the OR, an overnight hospital stay, follow up care, PT and a 2nd surgery to remove "temporary" screws. (and that's just what the insurance company paid out- insurance companies pay a negotiated amount which is often considerably less than what we get billed!)

I agree it will probably be Kathy. The previews show her trying to get people to boot Jenna, but the only person she has any influence on is ShiAnn, and ShiAnn has no loyalty. She's just voting with whoever will keep her around the longest. She's pretty useless and annoying, but doing a good job staying under the radar. I would like to see them wise up and boot Rob, but it won't happen this week. I have to admit 've got a soft spot for Rupert- he just grows on me week after week. But he won't win because he plays fair, and won't stab his friends in the back.

Its your leg. If you want to jeapardize your recovery and possibly void your insurance coverage, why should the doctor care? You're an adult and should know better. Sorry if that sounds harsh, I've been there and casts suck, but if it was seriously bothering you, a smarter way to handle it would have been to call your doc and move up your appointment to have him take it off and possibly replace it. You already told us he wasn't happy with your last Xray! Hope it gets better. If you won't go to the ER, get your ass on the couch with an ice pack and DO NOT WALK on it! maura

I definitely thought Kwame should have fired her. I don't know why he took her to begin with. I remember the first time they had to pick teams and she was LAST to be chosen; the team that got her had no choice. I can't help but wonder is she is deliberately sabotauging (sp?) the team. And the Oprah thing was such BS. It IS true that every reality show seems to pick at least one person who is difficult to get along with and will cause tension. Race has nothing to do with it. I think what really happened was that he forgot to pick his "spy"! And I can't believe I'm admitting I watched the damn show last night! It was a BAD BAD TV night! Yeah, he's a moron, but what about all those women competing for him??

The tea works. I remember as a kid standing in the bath tub and my mom pouring it on my sunburn. I got so many terrible sunburns as a kid, so I've tried a lot of remedies. Now that I am older and wiser, I try to take better care of myself! What works best is not letting yourself get burned, so just remember your sunscreen! Even people who tan easily get burned in the tropics.

I bought a reuseable underwater camera from a dive shop for about $40.00, which is about as much as 2 disposable underwater cameras would cost, and its depth rated to 100 feet or so. The disposables are only good to about 12 feet which is fine for snorkeling, but not diving. My pictures came out pretty good, and I used the camera on the ground too. You might be able to get a water proof case for your digital, too. My dive instructor had a nice digital camera which he took with us. He gave me a disc with lots of great pictures. And even if you aren't certified, you can take a "Discovery Scuba" class and make a shallow dive (40 feet or so) which is really worth it in my opinion except you may get addicted to Scuba diving too. (I kind of did.....) I highly recommend doing that! I'm also very fair skinned and this year I tanned before vacation, still used sunscreen and ended up nicely tan and not burned. But I tanned for a few weeks before I left. Tanning beds are pretty much the only way my skin tans and its a long slow process. 2 sessions won't do it! At the dive shop, I picked up Sea Safe which is a sunscreen that is safer for the underwater environment AND protects against stuff like jellyfish stings. It comes in SPF 15 and 30 and it really does stay on! What's wrong with getting your hair braided? Then you won't have to worry about it all week. No blow dryers, curling irons, etc. Its vacation! if your friends don't like it, who cares?? I've never been to the Virgin Islands! have fun!

I had a similar problem with an aggressive goldfish. Now he's in a 12 gallon tank he shares with an algae eater. They're both pretty big and semi aggressive, but get along OK. Too bad he was such an badass, or else he could be in a nice 55 gallon tank with the goldfish he was picking on!

Val, Try Apple Vacations' or Fun Jet's "air only" options to Mexico. You might be able to find a bargain on a charter. If you aren't really fussy about your hotel, you can find a place that is clean and air-conditioned in any resort area for less than $50.00 a night.

I think Omarosa picked the wrong person to f#$% with this time. (meaning Donald Trump) Her own words and actions contradict her claims, and its all captured on tape. How stupid! Plus she's such a hideously obnoxious person, I don't see how any judge or jury would be sympathetic with her if she did have the balls to sue. I know I can't be the only person who started watching just to see her get fired! Now that she's gone, I have very little interest in the show. (Although there are a few more "candidates" I really dislike!) I heard that Ereka, who she accused of using the "N word" is planning to sue for libel, and she probably has a pretty strong case. This woman accused her of being a racist on national tv and has nothing to back up her claim. A public accusation like that is potentially damaging to her career. I kind of hope she does sue and wins!

You know, when the show first aired, I thought it was kind of stupid, but my guy was really into it, so I watched a little bit. I still think the show is dumb, but got sucked in mainly just waiting for her to get booted because she was such a horrible person. Week after week, she was just unbelievably smug and nasty. I know I'm not the only person in America who cheered when Trump finally "fired" her. She has to be one of the most disliked women in the country right now! I watched the "recap" show last night and was reminded again about how horrible she was, and I find it hard to believe she got a warm reception ANYWHERE! She set a bad example for professional women of ANY race! I think the rascism claim is total BS, right up there with her "concussion"! I just don't buy it! Last night's show had a lot of extra "previously unseen" footage of Omarosa being smug and nasty, and these were her own private moments on camera. And of course there was the doctor telling her she was fine after her "head injury" and her going to the ER anyway! I wonder if that was aired to remind America just how nasty and lazy she really was, since she's telling everyone how badly she was treated!
