  1. I didn't want to get "hooked" on another show so when it first started I deliberately did not watch it. BUT, I started watching when they repeated the first several episodes. Not hooked yet, but intrigued.
  2. No, but if you host a party and one of your guests gets drunk, gets behind the wheel of a car and gets into an accident, in some states, you would be held liable. Is he a murderer? No. Was he negligent? Yes he was! Does he bear some responsibility for the deaths of his children? Absolutely!
  3. Yes, fiber is a good thing, but be warned that alot of these "low carb" products are so loaded with fiber, they taste like partical board. YUK! And also, many food items that are labeled "low carb" are high in fat, just as most of the "low fat" products are loaded with sugar and other nasty carbs. (You know, the stuff that TURNS into fat almost as soon as we swallow it? Low fat my a$$!) You're really much better off in the long run eating "real" unprocessed foods, but sometimes we need our shortcuts and our treats!
  4. No, he didn't drown the children. He knowingly left them alone with a mentally unstable woman after contributing to her mental instability.
  5. Their flat bread is loaded with fiber, and not all that tasty unless its piled high with meat and cheese and stuff! I thought the same thing when they came out, same with the low carb wraps from Subway. Now I choose to believe they are what they say they are! Also, when they say "net carbs" that's carbs minus fiber and minus what they consider to be low impact carbs. (Like malitol sp?- in the "sugar free" chocolate.)
  6. Deuce, You started it, so you have the right to name it!
  7. I agree. I don't even know what he does for a living. But I actually know exactly where at least one person here works based on his/ her posts alone, and that person never named the company. Still, its a stretch.
  8. I don't know. Skydive Chicago's former location was right next to I 80 and a plane might have appeared that low as it was landing.
  9. Actually, if you read Kevin's original post, he says he wasn't fired for posting from work or excess internet usage, but for allegedly posting "controversial" topics (which might have been on his own time) and somehow "linking" his posts with his employer and clients. It was the content of his posts and not the fact that they were made from work. (and of course the fact that said posts were brought to the attention of his employer.......)
  10. Also a valid point. Accusations are useless unless you can prove them.
  11. Nope, I didn't miss the point at all. Eye opener- like I said. The idea of legal action seems kind of pointless, too. That said, I still think its terribly wrong for someone to go out of their way to cause another person to lose their job in this manner because he (or she) didn't agree with something he had to say. Its twisted. And if that person can be positively identified, I think they should be booted from here, that's all I'm saying.
  12. I do agree that people are placing to much stress on the moderators or Sangiro to "fix" this, but the fact remains that someone who is a part of this COMMUNITY allegedly went out of their way to harm someone else, using this site as their "weapon". It sucks, and it is a violation of trust but perhaps an eye opener to all of us. Even worse, its not the first time. No moderator can prevent an unbalanced individual from taking a personal grudge or email conversation too far, BUT if the identity of the person who did this is discovered, and its proven to be true, whoever it is shouldn't be allowed here anymore. Causing someone to lose their job is a lot worse than calling them a moron, isn't it? Sort of the ultimate personal attack, don't you think? (Barring physical violence, of course....)
  13. I agree. "Fat Bastard" added some humor and fun into it.
  14. I really don't know much. I heard he died at home alone at the end of November- I don't know the cause and don't feel its appropriate to speculate here. His sister contacted the Freak Brother website after finding a card among his belongings. Very sad. He was by all accounts one hell of a skydiver.
  15. I don't have a problem checking in Mondays and Fridays. Weekends are ordinarily when the temptation to cheat is really strong, so a Monday check in coulld be a good incentive. And, I will weigh myself daily, but only look towards a trend and not freak out by daily fluctuations. I've heard its better to weigh yourself every day but only count the AVERAGE at the end of the week.
  16. The way my a$$ and gut have been "spreading" I guess its approriate!
  17. I'm counting today as my "start date" (or my re-start date). According to the scale, I've gained 10 pounds since May! Ugh! I want to lose at least 30, and drop at least a full size, a little more since most of clothes are kind of snug now! I gave away my "fat" clothes when I lost weight last year and I'm not willing to buy any more! So....30/0 (maybe I'll have better news on Monday!)

The backseat is so small, he'd end up with a concussion!

I don't know whether its a good thing or a bad thing that I've never "christened" my bug!
  20. For what its worth, I agree with both you and Michele. And I do think a new trial is fair if they judged her responsible for her actions based on false testimony by their "expert witness" from NBC of all places.
  21. You know, I found the "mandatory birth control/ sterilization" thread that was here a while back to be hateful and disturbing, but in a case like this, it seems to apply. She shouldn't be allowed in society, she shouldn't be allowed to have any more children! And her husband? He left his mentally ill wife alone with his children! Isn't that reckless endangerment? I guess that's something he'll need to live with for the rest of his life, but he doesn't deserve any more children either.
  22. Geez, I don't know. A new trial is fair based on the "expert witness" issue, but she was TOLD by medical experts not to have more children and did it anyway? What about her husband? (And that's a contradiction to the defense claiming she'd been misdiagnosed and mistreated most of her life, isn't it?) If they were both aware of the severity of her condition and any potential consequences, doesn't that make them BOTH at least partially responsible? Clearly, this wasn't her first bout with post partum issues- I wonder if they escalated with each child. Wasn't she understanding reality when she got pregnant? Maybe her children would still be alive if she and her husband hadn't decided to roll the dice with just one more. The whole thing is sad.
  23. I think there's a cruise that goes around the Netherlands too. And for what its worth, I've heard great things about the Alaska cruises in the summertime.
  24. There's really two separate issues. Yes, I know I can be fired for using the internet at work for non work related things (like I'm doing now....) Its one of those "everybody does it don't let it get out of hand" kind of things. But someone went out of their way to contact PK's employer and slander him, causing him to lose his job. And its not the first time- something similar happened to someone else. So, there's employer issues and what they can and cannot legally do- out of our hands. Hopefully, PK will find another position before his severance runs out. And maybe some of us will stop using the internet so much at work. But more important, there are community trust issues at play and I think it sucks. So, yeah, I'd like to see the person outed, I'd like to know who would do something like that and why. Its twisted.
