Do any PARENTS see a problem with this? Maybe instead of making "granny" jokes, one of this child's parents ought to be expressing a little concern for her welfare and her future. But maybe that should have happened a while back when she started seriously dating at 14??

I haven't posted because I haven't been making any progress. I did manage to survive vacation without gaining anything, but I've been fighting off a cold for the past two weeks and not eating properly! Not gaining, but not losing either! Maybe by next week I can get back on track again!

lol YOU ask for an opinion based solely on the information YOU provided, get a lot of responses you don't like so now WE are the ignorant ones! yeah, right............... It would be even funnier if there weren't young children involved.................

What's not OK is YOU and your attitude. You don't trust her, you're snooping and making threats. How on earth is that acceptable? I feel sorry for your wife. With a husband like you, its a good thing she has good friends she can talk to and rely on.

When did you have luck in a crash landing. between:
tigra replied to Bartje's topic in Safety and Training
I've had good luck in some stupid landings and bad luck (broken bones) in landings that really weren't that bad. -

Disapproving of his daughter's lifestyle just makes him a parent. Referring to all homosexuals as selfish hedonistic sinners makes him a bigot.

I think by starting a thread about The Bachelorette, you voluntarily gave it up anyway!

Well, I don't know that its such a big deal, but I did get a kick out of the irony.

We flew over the DZ on our way home from Ixtapa yesterday. It looked pretty quiet down there!

I think the occassional outburst of violence (as needed and for a good cause) is good for his overall temperament! I think he was was a little dissappionted the last time his collection services were used that the guy paid up without him having to resort to violence!
-
Just ask and a certain "collection gorilla" I know would be happy to help out.

Maybe next year?

Follow the planes and join us in Ixtapa!

Sorry, but that mayo stuff on the Amsterdam fries? YUM! Doesn't work for all fries, but it sure worked for those. And ketchup on fries? eeewwww!

Geez- I sooo hate to agree with AndyMan about anything, but he's 100% right about the diet soda! Once you have made that switch, you CANNOT go back. (and I made that switch more then 20 years ago, when there was Tab and everyone used saccarine still- Gawd I'm old!!) Regular Coke and Pepsi make me gag and I feel like they coat my whole mouth with sugar.
-
Any change in your diet? About a year and a half I ago, I was eating really crappy and gaining weight. I was also getting really bad heartburn pretty regularly. I finally decided I decided I needed to lose weight and started cutting my carb intake. The heartburn went away. When I "fell off the wagon" this fall, it came back with a vengeance. And, now that I'm limiting my carbs again, the heartburn is gone. I'm not saying don't eat carbs, but do take a look at what you are eating on a daily basis and see if there is any pattern. Sorry- I guess we were posting at the same time and you just adressed my question......

Down one more pound BUT I leave for vacation in the morning and I never "diet" when I'm on vacation! The best I can hope for is not to gain weight next week!

Its a very nice, generous and thoughtful gift as long as you can afford it. If you really can't (or shouldn't) then it is too much AND a good friend wouldn't expect anything so extravagent anyway!

I don't think I'll be able to look at an advent calendar without thinking of Bad Santa anymore!

Actually, this is something my mom "gave" to my dad. Early one November morning, she looked out the window as he was pulling out of the garage on his way to work. He hit something, damaged the back bumper and some small pieces broke off. He kept going. She collected the pieces that came off the car. Later, he acted like he had just seen the dent / damage to the bumper and tried to blame her. She denied it, of course, but didn't tell him she saw him hit the garage. (So then he claimed it must have been a random hit and run in a parking lot or something!) She took those little pieces, put them in a box, wrapped it in Christmas paper, put his name on the package and set it out a few weeks before Christmas. He would walk by that box and pick it up and shake it every single day wondering what was inside. It was the very first gift he opened on Christmas too! The look on his face was priceless!

Bulk buying tickets-any disadvantage
tigra replied to Unparagoned's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My DZ only uses jump "tickets" during a boogie. Otherwise, we keep money on account and our account gets debited for each jump- no worries over lost or stolen tickets that way! (For big volume, like boogies with a lot of people and multiple aircraft, the ticket system is just a little more efficient.) They offer a pretty good deal every winter if you prepay for 100 jumps, but you are expected to make those 100 jumps or more that season. If you don't, they can retroactively increase the price of the jumps you've already made. So, there's one disadvantage, I guess. But if you think you're going to make at least 100 jumps and you've got the cash to put down up front, its a great deal. As far as not getting your money back? Personally, I never asked, just rolled over my balance to the next year, but I know one guy who had at least $500.00 on his jump account and had a snit over something the DZO said to him. (He objected to the way he flew his canopy and would not allow him on a big way because if it.) He demanded his money and got it, no problem! Walked out swearing he'd never be back, but was back jumping there within 2 months! You know, after the other dzs in the area told him pretty much the same thing the dzo did, but not as nicely! -
What about the genius kid with the world by the balls who now lives in a trailer/ bus/ van on the DZ and packs rigs and scrubs toilets for a living?

CRW Camp! Now I get it! Those last 3 pounds? I was wondering if you a) had an eating disorder or b) were a jockey or wrestler trying to make weight for your next race or meet! Enjoy the Pinot Noir for yourself, and your friend probably did want the Pinot Grigio and not the others!

I thought this a thread about Sgt. Pepper! It was 20 years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play, they've been going in and out of style but they're guaranteed to raise a smile...........
