That's exactly what I needed!

I'm going to a boogie next month, my gear is still in my locker at the DZ and I know I'm close. I *think* I'm OK, but I'm not sure. IF I need a repack, I need to plan for that in addition to driving out to collect my gear. I thought there used to be a simple tool on this site to help calculate the 120 days. It would suck to show up and be out of date by just a day or two, you know?
-
Is there a place on this site that calculates reserve due dates? I swear there used to be and I can't find it!

Do you have children? Is the money worth your marriage or your life? Personally, I think its one of those things where if you were single and had nothing to lose MAYBE it might be worth it, but if you've got a family? No way!

EXACTLY! But the other thing I was getting at was that he always had something positive to say on the debrief, even if the dive wasn't perfect. How many GOOD skydives have you been on and the debrief was full of finger pointing because it wasn't PERFECT? I think it happens often enough that new jumpers turn away from belly flying. We need more Jerry Birds out there!

"snowed in" menu for the day: Real hot chocolate after shovelling Homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches! The food channel is evil some days! None of this is part of my "diet" but it sure was good! If I eat like this for the rest of the weekend, the Monday morning weigh in will be kind of sad!

I've always been awed by his ability to see and remember what went on in a skydive, the whole skydive. Because when I land and we debrief, there is so much I don't remember about my own portion of the skydive, I barely notice anyone else's performance unless they directly affect mine! All those What happened on exit? Who lost a grip? Who was late? Somehow, he could see it all and breakdown the goods and bads about the skydive without pointing any fingers! A real constructive debrief! So many organizers could learn from him!

OK, I'm no "Diet Guru" or nutritionist BUT the induction phase of Atkins (the 20 carbs per day bit) doesn't involve calorie counting, and there's a reason for that. It seems to me that by restricting your calories AND your carbs, you are slowing down your metabolism instead of speeding it up. 1400 calories isn't much at all- your body needs feul and if it isn't coming in the form of carbs, it needs something else! With that kind of diet, its no wonder you don't have the energy to exercise! Eat something or decide whether to count carbs or calories. Low carb works for a lot of people, but not for everyone! Just my thoughts! maura

Well, one thing I've noticed especially since I started skydiving is that the forecast isn't always accurate as far as temperature, clouds, rain, etc. But, when they forecast wind, it always seems to be accurate. And that's the weather channel, the local news, the paper and or weather.com. I never tried the Magic 8 Ball!

Dude! TMI, Man! Really!
-
The same as last Friday!
-
I'll get that sometimes after certain drinks, but like you, not all of them. I'll also get really red and blotchy when I'm upset or stressed, and when I cry? Forget it!

Well, I'm going to Mexico very reasonably next month and I just bought my plane ticket last week. Shop around! We're doing "air only" through Apple Vacations and I made my own hotel arrangements- nothing fancy but I'm sure it will be more than adequate and we may even have money left over to skydive and sight see! Even prime season, Mexico is cheaper than most beach destinations in the states! Oh. we're going to the boogie in Ixtapa! I realized I left that out of the post!

That means you have to date the funny smelling, dorky bagboy from the grocery store cause he might actually be the one. You need to be pathetic and ask out any guy with a pulse cause lets face it, you aint getting any younger and you don't wanna be one of those old cat ladies. You need to only care about pleasing the man cause he is the god of the household. Did that help? Kel's not the only one with issues! But I do feel your pain!

Would that be ALL OF THEM????
-
There's already a thread for that? Can someone post a link?

Sure, blame the keyboard! We all know it was a Freudian slip!
-
Well, I guess I stereotype people who make sweeping generalizations about groups of people based on the language they speak, the color of their skin, they type of cars they drive and the size of their familes as "bigots"! Don't blame the stereotype, just the people who created it!

You know, there's a huge difference between a declining neighborhood and an ethnically diverse one. And it takes more than a couple of months (and a couple of stores) for the neighborhood to go downhill and the property values to slide. I am happy to live in an area that is ethnically diverse with a large hispanic population, as well as many eastern European immigrants. I think its great to be able to walk to the corner store on Sunday mornings and get freshly made tamales, tortillas still warm from the local tortilla factory, carnitas, barbacoa and all the trimmings for a Sunday morning feast! My neighborhood has a long history of hardworking immigrants who took a great deal of pride in their houses, and it continues to this day. On our block, if someone has neglected their lawn or the external appearance of the house, chances are its us, the "white folks" who moved in last year. I wonder if they took one look at me and said "There goes the neighborhood!" You see, I bought my house from a Mexican American family who was "upgrading" to a larger, much more expensive home. Both parents worked two jobs to support their family and provide the best they possibly could for their children- pretty much the opposite of the stereotype you are promoting! Oh, and by the way, when you are stereotyping "Spanish" people, are you talking only about people from Spain? All Spanish speaking immigrants or immigrants in general? Just want to know where you draw the line!

Sphere! A major waste of talent and just plain insulting to the audience to boot!

Our beagle didn't just bury food, she would hide it- and weird stuff too. My mom gave her leftover noodles once and she hid them in my mom's bed under the sheets! Can you imagine climbing into bed and there's a pile of cold noodles at your feet? Yuk! It was my mom's own fault for trying to feed that crap to the dog anyway!

I ate pretty well all weekend, but I'm exactly the same as I was on Friday! I have no idea HOW that happened, but maybe next weekend I'll get through the whole weekend without "cheating"! So, I'm even for the weekend, -3 and 27 to go!
-
We had a collie do that and an old beagle- long after she was spayed would do the same thing. Kind of strange! The beagle had some other odd habits too- like hiding food. We found her after she had obviously been on her own for quite a while and that feeling of not knowing where your next meal is coming from never goes away!

Well, the thread's pretty much buried and forgotten now although one chick did say some really nasty things after "googling" skydiving accidents. I just thanked her for proving my point! I never wanted to defend the sport, just clarify that nobody died skydiving in Ixtapa last year! It actually gets weirder in that the original "source" of the rumor may have been a skydiver! Talk about twisted! But, its Zihuatanejo.net if you want to look at it or comment!
