And your sources are Tila Tequila and TMZ via the NY Post?? Very reliable .............
-
Nope- but it makes you wonder why anyone would allow their dog to lick peanut butter from such a "delicate" place .............

need warm gloves for short fingers/small hands

Gear store in Z-Hills? No, I guess a gear store in Florida would not necessarily carry winter weight gloves. Why not try a sporting goods store? You'll have a much better selection at a better price. Women and young people participate in winter sports and need gloves too. -
Head injuries have been a hot topic in the NFL this year, congressional hearings, new rules and all. About time really. This makes me think about a receiver on the Bears a few years back- Tom Waddle. He'll probably never be remembered as a great player but he made some amazing catches- he would just leap up in the air and come down with the ball firmly in his hands. He also took a pounding with almost every single one - he'd catch the ball and get slammed before he had a chance to take a step, usually several times in a game. When he was interviewed after the game or even the next day, he could barely put together a coherent sentence and he just looked dazed and out of it. He'd be back to "normal" for any pre-game interviews later in the week. You had to wonder how much permanent damage he was doing. He's a sports reporter on TV now and seems fine.

Even the most "airtight" waiver cannot sign away someone else's rights. The current lawsuit isn't setting any kind of legal precedent, at least not as far as the waiver is concerned.

I read that one of the problems with this virus is that if you fall for it and follow their instructions, you will end up removing programs and files that the computer actually needs. Its a new computer, right? Didn't it come with some kind of "restore" disk?
-
Agreed. For the record - my opinion only - I don't agree with including Strong Enterprises in the lawsuit unless the plaintiff had reason to believe there was a significant design flaw that they knew about and did not correct before the incident. (specifically, a design flaw that could have contributed to or caused the incident.) I also don't think DZs (or any other business) should be able to hide behind waivers when there is negligence involved. Again- just my own personal opinion. I'm not a lawyer but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express .............
-
OK, I only saw one post blaming the plaintiff, calling him a "fucktard" actually. Just one post, just one person. Certainly not "everyone". And I don't recall ANY post "blaming" any lawyers. Its just a simple observation- the lawyers are going after the people they feel have the deepest pockets. That's their job.

The deceased waived her right to sue. If she had survived somehow and tried to sue, the waiver might have held up. But, contrary to any verbiage on the document itself, you cannot waive anyone else's rights when you sign that waiver. (Isn't that the whole problem with allowing minors to skydive? They can't legally waiver themselves and their parents cannot waive their rights for them?) I would also argue that the waiver is NOT specifially for negligence. The real shame here is that the lawyers are going after the deepest pockets instead of the responsible parties. Actually, the real shame is that a woman died under entirely preventable circumstances.

Really??? Maybe you should read the entire thread, attachments and all. That's me being as respectful as possible under the circumstances ............

Me neither. I was responding to two people who said she looked like a heroin addict. I think those comments were more about how thin she had gotten - the look the fashion industry refers to as "heroin chic"? I was just pointing out that people who do heroin still manage to eat - in fact, I heard that it gives you a sweet tooth. There are plenty of plump heroin addicts out there ..............

He might have outwitted and out played, but he was short sighted when it came to the jury and that's why he lost. He should have known he would not win. Ultimately, she really did outplay him in the end. She didn't make any excuses for riding his coattails to the finals and didn't deny that she played a part in all the manipulation and backstabbing. I think that's why she won.
-
Right on the money... she was powerless over that shit Actually, from what I have heard, heroin addicts eat. And most can function in society and at work without anyone knowing there is a problem.

Too much of the wrong drugs will stop your heart in your 20s. One of my friends had his heart incident before reaching 30. After wards he quit drugs and was fine. I would not be surprised if it was anorexia/ eating disorder related. She lost a huge amount of weight after Clueless. Went from a normal sized attractive young woman to a twig. Its pretty tough to maintain those Hollywood standards. A lot of you are too young to remember Karen Carpenter but she died young after struggling with eating disorders most her teen and adult life. She was recovering but the damage to her heart had already been done.

Gentleman yes, doormat no. There seem to be a lot of people who really don't understand the difference.

How often do you check your DZ.COM E-Mail folder?
tigra replied to turtlespeed's topic in The Bonfire
I never get anything but random spam in mine. I don't use it and haven't given the address out to anyone in years. -
You seriously might want to see a doctor about the weight loss- it sounds a little extreme.

Try "Your Joy" by Chrisette Michele.

LOL- how many experienced skydivers actually WANT to do tandems? To the OP- maybe you can pick up a copy of the side spin video and quietly slip it in his locker along with some footage of him unstable? Scary stuff .........

where is that puking icon when I need it? Shah- you wouldn't be interested. I am over 25 and sometimes need to wear a size 8 instead of a 6-really depends on the cut and style ..............

You're awesome! Thanks! I feel better already!
