It's a sign. The wind is blowing. When the wind stops blowing, go skydiving! t It's the year of the Pig.

Spot on. Our DZ is 5500ft AMSL with summer DA over 10 000ft. I'm jumping canopies in the 107 - 109 sq ft range. If I were at Sea Level, they'd be down about 10 sq ft. t It's the year of the Pig.

You pay. Don't like the agreement? Buy your own gear. Then when you lose it, you pay. t It's the year of the Pig.

That's quite a broad spectrum you're asking for. Your profile doesn't show us much either. Do you want tips on landing better, flying a landing pattern? Canopy control is pretty open between swooping and canopy formation. PM me if you want more info. (or have more info for me.) t It's the year of the Pig.

You're probably right. I bought a Venture long before I started jumping wingsuits, and it's done an OK job so far. t It's the year of the Pig.

Old thread, yes.. but new night jumps, and I thought it better to put more info in the same place to reward those who use the search function! The dives went well. I put cylumes in my wings (The newer Birdman suits are modded in such a way that this is a 1 min job) and one on top of my helmet. T's wings are aluminiumised silver - so cylumes went on the helmet and were taped to the suit cutaway handles. (With different colours for arm and leg quick release.) We did 2 dives together. Speeds were higher than daylight, in the high 70's. Plan was that I would fly the pattern and she would fly on me. All in all, it worked great. I'm always keen to do night jumps, but this new perspective on them has me very enthusiastic! t It's the year of the Pig.

Hugs to Sheri, no problem. Hi to Taya, no problem. Keeping her safe? She's real good at looking after herself. I'll say "Hi" to all for you. Look South, for the red glow on the horizon. That's me! t It's the year of the Pig.

What I like about skydiving is that we're all students. I feel some pressure to perform, and will make all the mistakes others make there 1st time doing something new. I will have fun though. I've honed that skill over the years! t It's the year of the Pig.

EEEEE! Leaving in 40 min for the DZ to do night Birdman 2 ways with my SO! Take off in... 3.5 hours... I've done one before, but this will be different. I have 10 Cylumes... I'm going to be a bright spark! Then tomorrow it's Chopper jumps.... Ahh.. and next month is Eloy... Life is good! t It's the year of the Pig.

WAAA! I am SO screwed! 4.5K jumps... and I'm a boy! Worse - my goal is to learn to sit! Nothing like a challenge though! t It's the year of the Pig.

"judge not, lest ye be judged." Changes the meaning considerably. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=lest I do agree with your sentiments though. t It's the year of the Pig.

How can you unbelieve what you already believe? t It's the year of the Pig.

I promise you won't feel a thing. Happy now?

Well... maybe I'll bring all after my 1000th, and apply for diamond wings, double diamond etc etc as well as the freefall time awards... My mom will have more stuff to put on the wall then! t It's the year of the Pig.

I signed up for USPA membership yesterday. I'll be bringing my PASA (Parachute Association of South Africa) card along as well, as it has my D licence and ratings etc on it. Do I really need a log book? I have 14 of them, some nearly 20 years old.. or can I bring the last one? There are no sigs in my logbook since I got my D in 1988.. t It's the year of the Pig.
-
Well for a Peso more you should tell them that a .44 special and a .44 magnum are the same caliber, and neither of them are .44. Go on. Help them! t It's the year of the Pig.

Dude. Your fingers are really pink! t It's the year of the Pig.

And there were dinosaurs too! There's proof, although they're not here anymore. Oh. Sorry. That's just a theory. The world is only 7000 years old and was made in a week by a dude who has always been around. Oh. Sorry. Wrong thread. t It's the year of the Pig.

It is. I jump Safire 135 / Pilot 132 and Safire 119 / Stilleto 107's. No way are Safires sized the way they're stated. Safire2 corrected this, however. t It's the year of the Pig.

C'mon, Simon. How's my Sifu supposed to feel if he reads this? I'm a student, and always have been. My current focus is largely on weapons forms, which have no application in real life. I have no students, I'm no teacher, and certainly no master, even of a single form. As I suspected, this "failure to feel" of mine is a combination of ignorance and poor technique. Both can be remedied with knowledge and effort. See you on the weekend! t It's the year of the Pig.

Ok. Point taken. Probably a result of flying only with GTi's... I think what you describe could also be prone to "over gripping." This is common with new climbers, where they're not just holding on - but trying to crush the rock they have a grip on. I'll start working on using the wing tip grippers right away. t It's the year of the Pig.

Left vs right, a theory on approaches
Tonto replied to AggieDave's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I'm left eye dominant. I shoot rifles left handed, pistols ambi - both aimed with the left eye. I kick left footed, surf goofy foot, but I write right handed. I've never noticed a difference between left or right aproaches. I suspect that this may be vision affected more than an eye-dominance issue. Speeds and distances are too high for eye dominance to make a difference, I think. t It's the year of the Pig. -
