I'm hearing rumblings that this has happened. Is that the case? t It's the year of the Pig.

70 way was done today, and apparently recognised by the Guiness book people. More big ways to be done this PM and tomorrow. t It's the year of the Pig.

Just heard from T that things are rocking in Germany with a tight 38 way and speeds in the low 60's. The infrastructure in a little... underdeveloped, so there's no internet, but I'm sure we'll see great stuff when people get back to the world. t It's the year of the Pig.

On a chain. Round my neck. Like a hobbit. I know of only one guy who's ring came off. It was still on the split-pin in the door, along with his finger and a good chunk of sinew like dried snot on the side of the plane. t It's the year of the Pig.

When skydiving is more than skydiving

Chute didn't open... whuffo remark

Can't argue with someone who knows they're right. I try not to talk to whuffos. Mostly, when I do, I'm paid to do it, so it's OK. I certainly won't talk to them about skydiving. t It's the year of the Pig. -
Mmm. I think the pickled tomato slices may be a problem.. but thanks for the tips! t It's the year of the Pig.

So... 30 seconds is nearly 1 mile past the last Tandem out. Do you have any spot concerns? t It's the year of the Pig.

Thank you! My partner's from the US, so I'm cooking dinner for her tonight. She's been here 4.5+ years now, and I think she really misses home sometimes. t It's the year of the Pig.

I think all of us know the excitement of waiting to unwrap out new toys, no matter what they are. It really is a pity that you'll need to wait for it all over again, and that you'll be out of pocket for the rental, but when you get your NEW new suit, it will be BRAND new! t It's the year of the Pig.

Bargain! We pay more than double that! Vicki That must be to pay the rent of the loft they can't afford to have. Seriously - It must suck to have to try and hunt down a rigger, but I suspect that most regular jumpers know one and plan to get their repacks at the DZ or leave their rigs with a rigger midweek. t It's the year of the Pig.

Could have been worse.. Could have been a wingsuit! Do they reimburse in that kind of situation? t It's the year of the Pig.

Do Kili. It's benign, and at just under 20000ft will let you know if you can handle the altitude. While everyone will aclimate to altitude with exposure, it's something you cannot train yourself to be better at. Some suffer headaches and nausia as low as 15000ft AMSL. If you struggle at 19340 ft, write off Aconcagua and the rest. Start sport climbing at the same time. If you can play tag with a friend at 19000ft, and you're a reasnable climber, the only barriers to the really big peaks is money and time. Contact Daniel Mazur. He does many guided tours and has an excellent reputation. http://www.everestnews.com/mazur.htm t It's the year of the Pig.

"She's just not that into you." And she'll probably be quizzing her friends for weeks trying to figure out why you never called back. Cut away. t It's the year of the Pig.

I comment on what I read. Sometimes I read stuff in. Usually my reply tends towards the conservative. I have 750 CRW rotation dives in slot 4 back before the 30 second rule. Our team was occasionally putting a 4 stack together in 13 seconds, with about a 15 second average. That's 15 seconds from first exit, meaning camera would need to go last. 1 and 2 would go together doing a 2 and 3 second delay, 3 would go 1 second later, doing a 1 second, 4 goes 1 second after 3 doing a 1 second delay. What this means is that no 4 is deploying 3 seconds after the clock starts, has about a 1 second deployment, and 9 seconds later has docked 4th. That sounds fast, but generally the stack is just steaming underneath you and a short stab on the risers gets you there. Now I know things are a bit more laid back these days, but there was a CRW deployment collision fatal last month. I think tossing a slider stowed 9 cell eliptical into the mix is a less than perfect idea. Back in the early AR-7, Rubis, Matrix days, we all knew taking a CRW rig to terminal was a bad idea, but I know no-one who actually over delayed and fired their reserves. Habit is a strange thing. I also think disabling your main with a time delay switch operated from exit means you're trying too hard for the job you're doing, or you're using the wrong gear. I also think you'll get better answers among those in the CRW forum. t It's the year of the Pig.

I'm quite sure that with 700 licenced skydivers in South Africa, x 2 repacks a year, at 14 GBP a repack (19600 GBP) divided by the 20 odd riggers (less than 500 GBP each per year) they can't afford to pay rent anywhere in the world, but the bottom line is, we have them and you don't.

if no regulation how often would you repack your reserve

What do you consider normal? Jump conditions here in South Africa are probably from 0 C (Exit in winter) to 35 C. (Landing in Summer) On the ground, probably between 15 - 35 C, with 90% being 22 - 28 C. t It's the year of the Pig. -

Warmbaths is between Nylstroom and Pretoria, both have active DZ's. Those 2 riggers run a circuit between JSC, Rustenburg, Bloenfontien, Nylstroom etc, but you can catch them at home as well. Johannesburg has 5 - 8 riggers, depending on where you stay. Some are only reserve packers. t It's the year of the Pig.
