    High/Low

High - Getting back in the air after trauma at the DZ Low - Having skydivers assault each other over relationships etc. t It's the year of the Pig.
  3. You need to date a skydiver. You knew she was a whuffo and you still dated her? What were you thinking! Go Skydive. That's what counts. t It's the year of the Pig.
  4. --Quote--------------------------------------------------This inherently increases the angle of attack of the wing (similar to lowering the flaps on an airplane).----------------------------------------------------------- This is not done by the flaps on an aircraft. It's done by the tail. Since we don't have a tail, it is the light high drag wing that decelerates and the heavy, low drag pilot that swings forward, thus changing the angle of attack when the brakes are applied. t It's the year of the Pig.
  5. Grega - read this. It clears up a lot of shit and is old enough to know it works. http://www.skydiveaz.com/resources/book_canopy.htm The smaller faster canopy will only win in higher wind conditions. t It's the year of the Pig.
  6. The more scared you get, the smaller your brain gets. Be aware of the risk you face, but don't be intimidated by it. t It's the year of the Pig.
  7. 2 to 3 days. t It's the year of the Pig.
  8. Now that's interesting. We're all skydivers, but prefer talking shit than learning how to stay alive or get better at what we do. Interesting.... t It's the year of the Pig.
  9. Our system is near identical to this. 7 AFF Insructor levels 3 solo consolidation dives, of which the last is a 3 sec delay from 4500 (Cat 1) 2 Throw-out conversion jumps (We do AFF on ripcords) 7 coach dives to ensure minimum safety requirements before they are released to jump with others of the same experience level. This seems quite similar to the ISP. The 4 point 4 way is a B licence requirement for FS jumpers. B licence requires 75 jumps. That jump is usually completed with 3 senior jumpers, one of which is an instructor, or video must be taken of the dive and shown to the CI. It's the year of the Pig.
  10. Our SL students jump from 3500ft. 1st FF, a 3 sec delay (that's usually about 0.5) goes from 4500ft and the 10 sec goes from 5500ft etc. t It's the year of the Pig.
  11. Quote-----------------------------------------------------If you worry about an unstable opening causing your reserve to malfunction, you are wearing the wrong size of reserve! __________________________________________________ How would a different size reserve have less chance of malfunctioning from an unstable deployment? t It's the year of the Pig.
  12. I think you're wasting your time. I sent my 1st Jonathan back for line trim and it was a nightmare. Eventually got another one. They were all different. Each one a custom once off. I retired my last one earlier this year with 1500 dives on it, never trimmed, never relined, never broke a line. Loved it. t It's the year of the Pig.
  13. Saw bowling for Columbine last night. Respect. t It's the year of the Pig.
  14. Agreed. Big diffs between low 20's and 30 000ft. Ask a climber. t It's the year of the Pig.

Are we talking pilot chute release or being in the saddle? t It's the year of the Pig.
  17. OK. I'll look at my rigger in a whole new light.
  18. Belly bands were banned here in the 80's because a twisted bellyband caused a pilot chute in tow mal - as did ROL until stiffeners made it near impossible to twist the leg strap and not notice. t It's the year of the Pig.
  19. Man. I could identify so strongly with that dude. Went half way down that road 3 or 4 times... t It's the year of the Pig.
