I'd like to learn to swoop my canopy well, and swoop to a formation well, and I'd like to learn to track well, and maybe remember some points on a 4 way, and some big stuff too like the way the solar system works - and some Crew, 3d stuff... and freeflying, on my head and on my feet, and some birdman - just basic stuff - not base or anything. I'd like to teach better and have happier and safer students. t It's the year of the Pig. -

We have a 6'9", 300lb jumpmaster with 600 dives who jumps a 190. We're 5000ft ASL. t It's the year of the Pig.

I've had one AFF student finish in a weekend. He was trained on the friday evening and completed 10 dives in the weekend. 1. He is very fit and very body aware. 2. He's a good student - his goal is to learn - not to show he knows. 3. We'd known each other for a while and had climbed a bunch together - so I knew him under pressure He's done 500 jumps in less than 2 years (weekends) and he does camera on some of my AFF and Tandem. I've mentored him, and the rewards for me have been amazing with him coaching me in freeflying and birdman. He runs most stuff by me - maybe cos I'm the CI, but also cos what we have is working for both of us. I've had others come close - but it's certainly not what I'd want to do - and that was not our goal when we started AFF. He had the resourses, I had the time, and we went when I thought he was ready. t It's the year of the Pig.

JSC offers a 10 jump FAI recognised AFF program for R7180 ZAR (Currently about US$950) Exit altitude is 11 000 AGL out of a Pilatus Porter PC-6. We use PISA Naro Harnesses, Tempo 250 reserves and 290 Skymaster mains and all AFF gear is Cypres equipped. We're 5000ft AMSL. AFF I's are PASA rated, but I also did the USPA AFF course at Perris, SoCal. I have over 1200 AFF dives and 3900 + total. Video is R300 per dive extra. (Aprox $40) A jump ticket costs +_ $19, or $27 including rig hire and packing. We do require payment for the course as we employed staff to tile the toilets and build a thatch bush bar prior to hosting the National championships at the end of this month. I'd charge you extra for kissing my arse, but no more if you pay in "real" money like dollars or Euro's. Course content is 270kb. Mail me and I'll send it to you. t It's the year of the Pig.

When to advise SL to an AFF student?

Over here you may not move from AFF to SL. Reasoning is simple. Once you've jumped from altitude, should you return to 3500... no "alarm bell" would go in your head when getting low. Complete the AFF program or stop jumping. SL is not where your solution lies. t It's the year of the Pig. -

I'm D515 - and I've had it for a while... Even 1000 dives cannot be considered the mark of a "master" That takes a lifetime, talent, perseverance, lots of stuff. Lew Sanborn? He's a D. So's Dan BC. Those are masters. Any other examples? t It's the year of the Pig.
