The BCS needs to be fixed with a playoff, BUT that said and short of that since it will be years till it happens the AGGIES have sucked ass for many years. They have been getting there arses handed to them recently which is too bad for a good program. They look to be turing the tide to being a better program but the conference is tough and just because they have some wins dont start calling BS since they are not ranked where you want them to be..... The system is still like it was with the coaches and AP polls for years .. A&M Record: (5-1) Rankings: AP: 17 Coaches' Poll: 20 Besides the BCS rankings have not come out yet so take a chil till they come out..... Right now it is like it has always been. If you feel shat upon when the BCS starts to kick in then maybe you have an argument but right now nobody is going to argue that it needs some more work and ultimatly a playoff.. Have no fear though, the aggies have plenty of time to choke away some wins. So you know I am a Va Tech Fan and Alumni! GO HOKIES Record: (5-2) Rankings: AP: 23 Coaches' Poll: 22 Scott C. is pilot w/ <40 jumps worth scrambling for?
sdctlc replied to skyhighkiy's topic in Gear and Rigging
I had a pocket slider on a Sabre I used to own and I think it was the reason I had such sweet openings. Look into it if your having problems, they are easy to install. There are some other tricks on the pack that may help as well... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
is pilot w/ <40 jumps worth scrambling for?
sdctlc replied to skyhighkiy's topic in Gear and Rigging
Honestly if your struggling for money a $225 reling on a 600 jump sabre is a MUCH BETTER VALUE. the 600 jumps is just breaking in the Sabre and it will last a good number of years longer. Besides if your profile is correct with less then 100 jumps going to a Lightly Tapered (semi eliptical) it will be much sportier even at the same size... I suggest that IMHO you get a re-line and make at least a couple of hundred more jumps on the Sabre. Cost wise if you figure the reline cost and think of it as $1 a jump on that canopy until you get it "Paid" off, you have more then saved for the cost of the reline over that number of jumps. You will have a good deal more experience and be in a better position to look at a different canopy! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
Looks like you made someone mad and he came down and he stood on top of your canopy till it folded under, that bastard... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Reducing Picture Size But Maintain The Quality?

Sorry dude "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
Hey that was on E-bay!! I think it went cheap if I remember.. The canopy was not that bad and a competitor that did not do so well against the Sabre.. Paraflight is still around but they just do Military stuff I believe. Contact them they might be able to help.. The web site is http://www.paraflite.com/ Good Luck Scott C. Reducing Picture Size But Maintain The Quality?

I downloaded the "Image Resizer" power tool for XP from Microsoft and it does a great job! http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe Worked great for me!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
From my own personal scary experience files, I was under my open main then realized my reserve was going out. I looked over my shoulder to see the freebag going to line stretch and my first thought was "shit" so I cut the main away before the reserve was open, thinking "I'll quick chop and fall under the reserve, basically a canopy transfer and all will be good!!"". Right???? WRONG!!!, a second later found myself looking up at a "Cut Away Main Main/Reserve Bi-Plane" with the cut away handle in my hand and cables dangling. Second thought: "WTF, this is not what I was expecting!" Good Luck came to play and I had a good ending. Landed the reerve alone after being in a position where I could not turn as any asymetric load could have released the risers of the main on one side and that could/would have been bad news. I bring this up as something to think about for scarey stories and for any of you jumping the now very scarce "reversed risers"… Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Just wish I could clean it up a bit... I have a still on a roll for a tandem student that they took with them but I am doubtfull if I will see it even though a few from that group were planning to come back out this weekend.... Oh well, still a fun shot. I have sen a few of them out there so I know it is not uncommon. Anybody have some good frame grabs to toss up as well? Pics are fine also.... Scott C. One thing about touching the other peice is that before you can have incidential contact between peices you have to have a clear separation of the peices. Using Comp - Box as an example, if you jsut switched grips as you turned the to peices with no separation or with out showing a separation between the two subgroups that is, as I understand it would be a bust...... How do you attach your flash to your helmet?
sdctlc replied to Deuce's topic in Photography and Video
Dave, You should probably note that that shot was taken on a very cloudy (dim) day and the flash made a huge difference in the shots. Looks like a sunny day on the jumpers.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -

I can recomend a Freefall Accessories altimeter. They are outstanding and are every bit comparable to the better known names out there. They also have some cool benifits to them including being lighter then the Alti 3 and the option for a custom face plate. Just throwing it out there as I have owned both but now jump my custom FFA altimeter and am nothing but happy with it! If you going to look and compare contact them or look at the site. Altimaster is aq great company and has a nice product but I cant say anything bad in my experience with FFA.... http://www.freefallaccessories.com/ Scott C. Probably a great question. I did not put it topgether but it just flat out might be a mistake.. Parta-Gear does note this at the bottom: CAUTION: PARA-GEAR has no control over these statistics. For general comparison only. Volume and size figures could vary 20% ±. This volume chart has been put together from many sources using various methods of measurements. Figures in lighter type furnished by PARACHUTE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION. Figures in bold type come from many sources. THESE STATISTICS, THEREFORE, SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ONLY TO BE APPROXIMATE VOLUMES. BH says it is for the 20, 30 and 40. On the bag it came wrapped in it noted all three. I needed to "dremel slightly as I could not figure an eligant way to remove the strap. The camera was slightly askew with the .6 I have on the front before and now it is straight. I will try and get q few pictures today.. The holes in the box are a perfect fit to get at the needed stuff. the only thing I wil have to do is if I want to put my extended battery on I need to make a battery notch in the back of the box ans the is going to stick out slightly further then the box. STRONG vs SIGMA vs VECTOR vs ECLIPSE TANDEM RIGS
sdctlc replied to foreverfree's topic in Instructors
I jump Vectors and Sigmas for Tandems but know a TM that swears by his Racer. Lots of cool features but by his own statement, It is a "Personal Tandem" I asked what he meant by that and he noted that the Racer was great, comfortable and light but he did not feel it would hold up over the long hual in a Tandem operation compared to some other brands. I dont know if that is true and I figure there has to be some operatiuons using Racers all the time, If there is any feedback on the durability on the Raceer I would appreciate it..... Scott C. This really does not seem like advertising. If he is looking for a another person to go to a game and they are willing to cover the face value, Which most people would probably offer, then he is just trying to not let it go to waste. If he wanted a profit on the ticket then he is advertising. Trying to not let a ticket go to waste seems to fit just fine in this forum.. IMHO Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
