Awesome bike. I have a '05 DL650 and LOVE IT! Full Givi hard bag set is like having a trunk and get just under 50mpg on tank with mix of city and highway. Just rode down and back from Seattle to Portland this weekend and as always it is a comfy ride! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Got this one sent to me awhile back and never posted it here. Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
Well, that really only counts if you were on your back Not a personal best compared to the top post but I did 3min and 10 sec from 12,900 to 2600 last weekend.. Pretty close in time considering it was almost 2K lower exit and about the same opening. As a side to what Jeff noted about inaccuracy of loggers.. What are the 12K, 9K, 6K and 3K readings on a Neptune. I have been told they are snapshot speeds at those altitudes and I have also been told they are averages in a segment? Anybody know for sure? Even if they are "innaccurate" it is what most of us have to work with... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Ok, as a spin off of the Jump price threads going on I think it would be interesting to see if the distance and the cost of gas is affecting your jumping along with the jump tix $. When I was less then 30 min to the DZ a quick run out there was not that big a deal but now that DZ is gone and the closest one takes between 1.25 and 1.5 hours to get to I am thinking about it more. As an example this morning I was going to head out but the weather was/is really sketchy and even though it might clear up a little later today (ASOS is still saying ~2900 overcast) I could not justify a almost 3 hour RT drive and $40+ in gas. That never mattered to me when gas was a lot lower but now that it is starting to creep up and I just paid $80 or so to fill my tank last night I am finding a more conscience weighing of the overall picture. Don't get me wrong on great weather days or even a 75% day I don't even think about it but less then that & I am much more in the "Think about it more" If the DZ was still only 30min drive I would not care about a quick drive out even in iffy weather but not with the 1.5 hour drive. How about the rest of you.. What are you finding/doing/thinking about??? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InePM26j9JA#GU5U2spHI_4 Or another option with a bunch of stills including some exits for non-wingsuit jumps... http://isleofskye.us/08Kamloops/album/index.html Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well, I can offer up a "Caution Tape Caution" warning. I was playing at the Holiday boogie with James B. (UncleCharlie) and it was like wingsuit fishing.. Stupid tape dancing around and luring people to come play with it. When I did to shoot video down the dancing tape it grabbed my ringsight .. James tugged a little this way and a little that way, gave up trying and then let go.. I opened a little high as I felt this crap on my helmet and the Main opened but the damn tape was all tangled up in the right riser around the toggles and still on my helmet. I had a flying canopy but could not risk getting the breaks undone till I got some of the tape moved and thought I was going to just land on rears. All worked out in the end but be cautious with Caution tape... I think earlier James had it give him some extra fun on opening with a line twist with the tape in the line twist. think that is why he was happy to pass it off to me on that jump. I have my ringsight on nylon screws. The picture is with the stll off being used to take the picture Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

WOW, that is a long flight! How tired were you after that.... 283 seconds over 18300 feet gives and average of 64.66 feet/sec which calculates to 44.086363636363636 Miles per Hour http://www.calculateme.com/Speed/FeetperSecond/ToMilesperHour.htm That is a very nice average for that long of a flight.. Nice bit of Eye candy there I must say!!

I searched and found some old threads and losts of different times for a flight. It got me wondering as I did a personal best by a good bit a few weeks back while at the Kamloops May Meet Boogie in B.C. I exited at 14,700 and opened at 2900 and my Neptune read 3 min 29 sec. (209 sec). I was pretty happy with it considering it was the sunset jump after jumping all day and I was not "fresh" by any means. I don't know how much more I could have done but I look forward to breaking my personal best. I am approx 6' and 180lbs w/o gear and did that jump with a Raptor Short of getting into the arguments on "cupping air", "forward speed", "best glide"... blah blah blah.... What are your best times in a Wingsuit.. I am curious as suits are changing and getting bigger with smaller people flying them which should give longer times when trying for it.. Flock rates are still commonly seen in the 60 to 70mph range with times from 1.5 to a little under 2 min in most cases. The long flight times is a different animal and this is just a friendly "what have you done" question...

No blood for Scott this year though..... I do appreciate that. And the one time I was taken out it was relatively no contact.. Then Monkey stole my slot as I was getting back... Oh well... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Call me what you like but having fun on tandems by going HD or doing a sit really should not be tolerated. I might be "old fashioned" but I have always looked at tandems, at least when I do them, as being something of a, well , A JOB! I get jazzed up when I can hear the pax scream and jump and hoot and holler on the ground after a great time getting from point A to Point B safely. I take MY fun jumps when I am not doing the tandems. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy doing a tandem and do get a good bit of satisfaction out of it. That said more often then not when I see someone doing something maybe a step too far, it is a TI that is doing LOTS of tandems and they are looking to add some "spice" to the jump while completely forgetting that the pax most likely has no idea.. Given that, why add the extra risk???? Your basically taking away from the jump THEY PAID FOR, solely for your own personal enjoyment and you should go do that on a non-working jump.. Oh well, I guess I am a tandem Prude.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

MAtt is correct, that's what the extension ring is for. It's not needed on most lenses. It is not needed on my HC5 with the Raynox Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

But what about this statement: "A unique vertical stabilizer has been incorporated into the suit to keep the back spoiler at a defined distance to the leg wing." I am guessing this is what they are referring to: http://www.pressurized.at/index.php?eID=tx_cms_showpic&file=uploads%2Fpics%2Ftrigger_inlet.jpg&width=800m&height=600m&bodyTag=%3Cbody%20bgcolor%3D%22black%22%3E&wrap=%3Ca%20href%3D%22javascript%3Aclose%28%29%3B%22%3E%20%7C%20%3C%2Fa%3E&md5=c714797a3ae2f06b780f51318081f768 It does open the door though to some funny comments though.. 24 sounds cool. Did you see any of the pictures from Avery? He is holding them close and I am curious to see the 16 way Diamond and the side by side 9 way diamonds to see how they looked... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

THAT is a bold statement my friend... and I will now back out of the conversation. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I agree with Dave in that I have many years of jumps on my Wings with a cordura BOC sans any issues. There are other possibilities for the problem you had, but if your comfortable with a Spandex BOC go for it! Confidence in your gear is important. Blaming the Wings BOC with so many out there working fine might be wrong though. Could there be an issue with your pouch? Did you compare it to any other wings containers? Scott C.
