Possible to pack Infinity I-33 with 170 main?
sdctlc replied to smokeypete's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have a 150 in a I-33 and there is no way a 170 (ZP fabric) will fit, at least in mine.. Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
RW bigways/sequentials/events in December or January?
sdctlc replied to tetra316's topic in Relative Work
Perris just sent out a newsletteer via E-mail with the following in your time frame: Holiday Boogie December 27 - January 4 The party will start just after Christmas and go right through New Years 2009!! For the FS jumpers Dan BC, members of Perris Fury, Mark, Darryl and Bob will be doing loose organizing throughout the week as well as planned events on particular days. Travis Fienhage has also put together a lot of fun plans for the Freeflyers!! $25 jumps all week!! Power Play Warm-ups Dec 26-27 This event is ideal for enthusiasts of more advanced mid-sized jumps like those found in the P3 Power Play in July. If you are working on your skills so you can achieve a Power Play invitation, this event is a perfect opportunity. Those who are Power Play veterans will enjoy the opportunity to keep their skills fresh and participate in some fun and challenging dives. Contact Dan BC at DanChenfld@aol.com for more information and to see if this event is a fit for you. sdctlc replied to sky-pimp's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That may be true but not everyone can play in a Brass Quartet... I hope the cool kids have fun.. As for the thread, Eloy is a good Holiday boogie.. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -

Glad you got John and Valinda in the air. I have been trying to do that for awhile now and they never seemed to be able to get it coordinated in the NW. I even have pictures of Valinda in a suit but no jumpy.. Congrats to them both... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Scotty, You doing the XS for the 3min flights? I have gotten close to 3 and a half minutes with Phil's XS from 13K but I don't have that suit dialed in, I think I get it going then I really find I dont have it even that close to dialed in. Also the 4 Min Flight Club is a nice thing!

I am curious who is going to both the Lodi and the Eloy events. I am planning on both but don't see the need to fly home in between.. Who is planning on Both and who is driving between the 2 events (Elsinore to Eloy) I will look into a flight but I am guessing that a few people will be doing both and some of those will be driving.. I would be interested in sharing travel expenses if someone is driving and am looking for options.. I cant believe that I am the only one so speak up! Scott C. Silly Question, Easy answer, "NO!!" Well I better clarify that with the exception of a jumper with a camera (or 2) on....

I thought Snohomish had AFF previously?? Oh well.. I have not been to Snohomish in awhile, I dont think this year at all. I had been jumping in Bremerton mostly until they closed late last year and now I have been more often down to Shelton. Pretty views at Snohomish I have to say. You noted a cringe for travel to Kapowsin (Shelton) are you coming from up north? The drive around can be long from up north depending on the timing and taking the Ferry across to Kingston can be a pain also depending on times but the drive is easy from there down to Shelton.. Like had been said, don't push off on the Poised exit. I have had a number of students do that and they can get into some funky positions. Think Chest into the wind with a side step motion and not a twisting or turning push off the planes step. Some times it helps to be looking up at the wing and to keep looking up at it to help keep the body in the correct orientation while starting to fall away. Anyway, good luck and glad to hear your loving i! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

VA Record Attemp - 100 Way @ Skydive the Point
sdctlc replied to Spatula's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Congrats, I was on the 87 way back in '97 and have been surprised that it lasted so long! I remember we had weather rolling in when we did the successful jump but it sounds like you had weather on the front end.. -
WOW, is it 5 o clock already, I thought you read/replied to posts during your "personal" time "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I was thinking about a 40D soon but this is not much more... HHHuummmmmmm... now what do I do.. The only real difference seems to be UDMA card compatability and a 15.1MB images and expanded ISO options.. Spot, have you seen the 50D i your hands yet?? Is there something that makes it stand out over the 40D other then the few items I noted? The difference from my XT to the XTi was not enough to go buy one but I am looking at the 40D now and this adds to my options. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Spot, Man, that was a Nice job on the edit for just throwing it together super fast! You are the MAN with a video plan!!! As a complete side note, I was happy to see that in the beginning of the first one (about 30sec or so) Scotty B... HAD the Mexican Straw Hat he so coveted in UT.. I guess it arrived for him on time...

http://aerostore.com/images/precision/Nitron_23.gif They have these really cool "Winglets" On the Promo page they state the following: The Winglets It is quite common for a non-Nitron jumper to ask about the winglets, and without trying to get into any kind of aerodynamic psycho-babble about wind tunnel analyses and such, suffice it to say that these oddball looking appendages on the upper surface work to help reduce the stall speed of the wing, allowing you to make more walk-on landings and fewer landings where you demonstrate the sprint-slide-tumble technique.

Sounds like it was a great weekend. Sorry I could not get my ticket worked out, would have been fun! Looking forward to some more "eye candy" getting posted.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

This is the difference that will cause the issue between WS flock formations and CRW/FS/VFS. With out grips WS formations are an Artistic event and open to speculative judging where one judge could say yes and another could say no. There will be movement as there are not grips and this is pushing WS formations to a "tweener" zone between artistic events and RW or CRW where your connected in formations.. Sure movement is in the other disciplines but people are connected. Large WS ways don't have this grip thing to worry about now though maybe in the future it could happen. I just don't see it as possible now. The definition does need to be addressed and some parameters set. It will be based though on proximity and "look" The 3 sec rule is gone now in Formation Skydiving (unless it was revived again) so that is not going to bump the Lodi 16.. I agree on the Slot specific issue though and the 1M rule puts WS formatinos back into the "tweener" zone and speculative judging. People are wound up way too tight on this issue. Lets build large slot specific formations and have them accepted as a group of Wingsuiters and stick with the rules that are developed. Then stick with them and not change for every event. I'm not saying that tweaks can not happen but if it is different every toime then we wilol not have a chance to get Official. As a side, When did Glen become the "Official Gay" monitor??? I will see if I can find a nice Rainbow pin for you the next time I see you Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well there "Mr. La Tee Da - I Jump from Higher" Ihave to say to that, Your 3+ minute flight is just not as sweet Fun hell yeah but in reality just not as sweet as getting it from a lower altitude...... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Personally I think the "Club" should be based on a standard Exit altitude of from 12500 to 13000 (which I think most will agree is the most common exit altitudes) with a deployment at a Normal altitude.. Sucking low for a few extra seconds is silly so I would say about a 2500 to 3K pull.. With that I can say I did a 12800 exit and a 2500 opening (again on neptune) that was at 3 min 10 sec. Scot C. P.S. 3 minute man, hell you are a giver! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

That there is a smart comment and something Flockers should consider looking into if for nothing else to gain a better understanding of flying in formation. A huge amount of RW "rules" can be directly applied to WS flying..! Robi hit that point right on the button!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I forgot to add to my current Personal Best due to that jump Spot is talking about. I guess it should go in the other thread but oh well, here it is.. Over 4 minutes (I don't have it in front of me but it was just under 4:10) from my Neptune with an opening registered at 2300 agl Using a Raptor and over 6 miles of distance traveled. Quartering headwind, awesome visuals, one of the jumps I will remember... Fun flight but Lurch is right in that missing the Thicker air at the bottom makes you think. Same exit altitude but at a Sea Level DZ, I would expect to have been much closer to 5min if my arms did not break, I am looking forward to trying it some time.. Just happy to be in the 4min+ club!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

You did awesome! I will have to download the pics and video of both jumps some time! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I ate too much and drank too many Beers but I also worked out on my elliptical at least 1/2 hour 6 of the 7 days... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
