  1. Between the 2 mentioned the Phantom 2 would be the pick for sure but that said I would toss the Tony Suit T-bird in the mix. I flew it today 4X and I was very impressed. I have a good number of Jumps on the Phantom (close to 200 I am guessing with out looking), and only a few on a Phantom 2 but the T-bird was quite an impressive design.. EXTREMELY solid flight characteristics from an experienced jumper point of view. I additionally had an experienced jumper with about 10 other WS jumps take it up and he called it a "Cadillac" and found it not only easy to fly also got good performance out of it. I found it performed VERY well in both maxed out for time and doing some acrobatic stuff including single, double and triple barrel rolls, Backflying and just good basic fooling around! before you buy something give it a try if you can.. 2. I have a HC5 top mount with the Raynox and a BH Box. The lens does not stick that far out and the set up works great Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  3. It is completely up to you but as a TI I always appreciate a tip.. I try and give an excellent experience for any Tandem I take, for that matter I do the same for any student I am working with from coaching to Wingsuit instruction, and will absolutely take a heartfelt thanks. At the same time, I will not turn down some $. The last tip I got last weekend I used to pay for gas to take my daughter for a flight at the end of the day in a 182.. She is almost 9 yo and had a blast, it was her and me alone in the plane (she was in a booster seat to see better) and we were having a blast! I would have been happy with some beer as well but the chance to cover the time in the air with my Daughter was Awesome! Long story short, if you feel the instructor did an excellent job and you wan to tip, do it Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  4. Looking through some shots I ran across this one I really like.. Veggie Reggie on Exit up in Kamloops BC Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  6. If you have not been to this boogie you should go! It is lots of fun and a great group of people. I am looking forward to getting some Canadian Flock and dare we say shoot for a Canadian record??? I even heard a rumor that in addition to Justin being there, Scotty "Mr hey my pictures are in ANOTHER magazine this month" Burns is thinking about showing up as well.. I have not heard if Purple was going to be there following the camera around to get into all the pictures but who knows! http://isleofskye.us/08Kamloops/album/index.html Scott C. 8. LOL, Sean called himself a whore I do have to say though that if you want matching gear then get it, it is your money.. If anyone wants to give you grief then I think they are just jealous... Personaly I have gone through non-matching, to matching to non-matching and now for the most part have matching gear... If your going to order custom might as well but if you want it now and its used or new shelf stock, take the colors you can get and don't care about matching... Bottom line is it is your money and you have to feel good about it when you look in the mirror to do your "Daily Affirmation With Stuart Smalley." Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  9. Thanks, that is going to a few friends ASAP! F'ing Awesome Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  10. Lots of cool pictures but I have always liked this one! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  11. Indeed, friend doing his ~10th wingsuit jump (Phantom 2) on the weekend ended up practically headdown on deployment. On the video the canopy didn't even snivel, just BOOM. For the OP, it was noted you will likely go head low if you don't counter balance with the left arm over your head. Working towards WS flying is great to do but the WS pull is more of a necessity given lack of arm movement over the head and the extra fabric the wings provide. For the poster I am quoting, your friend is most likely keeping his leg wing open and that is creating the head down. I teach FFC students to collapse the leg wing and to bend at the knee. This is initially taught on the ground by having the First Flight student standing up in a full flight position, simulating the 3 leg kicks for wave off followed by a small squat with the legs together then doing the symmetrical arm motion for pull. The squat is not a deep one but maybe a quarter or 1/3 of the way so you have a slight bend at the hips and one at the knees. Even if the leg with is partially inflated, the bends take some of the leg wing out and will prevent the head low. It also takes some of the forward drive the leg is producing out of the equation. this is for skydiving not hopping off of rocks where the general feeling seems to be that you should keep the leg open through deployment, I have been told. But I digress If all is done mostly as taught, you will end up with a with a head high position looking at the horizon giving the best opportunity to fly through the deployment with your shoulders thus getting an improved chance at a cleaner deployment. The key I feel is the Knee bend which pitches the head up. This method is the one I use for my WS jumps and is also good if you have a rig with no wingsuit modifications (other then hopefully an extended bridle) as the pitch up helps give a more vertical relative to the container deployment sequence. 12. Be sure to not pay hundreds for it. I noted other said the same thing.. Example is noted in the Chuting Star banner ads on DZ.com with the following pricing being listed: Wings: Custom in 14 weeks $1,200.00 or Wings Vision: Custom in 14 weeks $1,275.00 They also note on line the following as well.. Note: Price increase of $200 coming April 1 for Wings containers. Order now! If your going to order soon make sure the 50% off is worth it for what your talking about paying... 13. I am currently partial to the Sabre series. Great canopy and can be gotten at a great price. I did not like the Sabre 2 with its searching openings. Never had a "Slammer" on the original Sabre with a WS.. The tapered or semi elliptical canopies have not worked so great for me on consistent openings, not bad but not as tame as the Sabre I have. I am using a Sabre 135 currently and it has been great! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  14. That is a really nice looking suit! A lot are posted that are... well.... nice but that one stands out of the recent submissions! The butterfly campos is outstanding though.. Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  15. Profile says 191, go get it this weekend! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  16. First thing in the morning to simple solve the question would be to call the manufacturer with the serial number on the rig. They will be able to answer the question... We can go back and forth on the forums but the actual answer lies there with a quick call I am guessing.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  18. I have sen your "Man Cave" and it is not too shabby toy wise..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  19. Cool project there. It is really fun to play around with toys when you have access to them.. As a side note, I would strongly suggest chopping the mini main a bit sooner. I stopped the video when you could see the alti just before the release and it was showing 1600' (1:47 into the video) It was flying straight at 3000' and you seemed to look directly at the alti, but then you started fighting it and it really twisted up almost down to the 3 rings. Having the hard housing inserts which I noted in the plane shot probably really helped with this. If you jump it again I would set a hard deck for chopping as a canopy that small is going really fast and as you noted can twist up very fast. Even with a canopy over your head the timing is vastly different then a "Normal" sized canopy and you can be having a false mental clock. Really glad it was all OK in the end and looked like quite a ride. I like some of the running commentary as well. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  20. I agree, I have a Sabre 150 with about 600 jumps and a newer line set (installed last year) with shipping included in the classifieds for under $600.. I am guessing the canopy I am selling breaks down to about $425-450 with the remaining portion being the value of a low number of jumps on a new line set and the shipping. The numbers your noting would make me put the canopy more in the $400 value range.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  21. Here is one he likes, but I'll post it here....... I'll play.... That reminds me of this shot of Glen... Monkey is obviously shamed and Kris has that "I am yet again bored" look.. Glen, well he just wants to, well, you decide..... Scott C. I already posted the same one awhile back....still funny though, if you know Glen Well then since it was funny what you did, I wont sue you for using my picture!! regarding funny pictures of Glen, it is akin to "I neeeed more Cowbell" Scott C.
