Sounds like a sweet setup. Curious if the profile and 350 jumps is accurate? What are you loading the canopy at? The only reason I was wondering was your statement of needing 30-40 jumps to get current? My guess is that is from being in the middle of winter in IN. Not trying to be a canopy nazi but more of me being curious! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Here is a pic of a exit a few seconds off the plane. It may give a good idea of the positions of everybody on the plane if you just stuff everybody into the door. Sometimes a little Visual Aid helps. This is basically the positions that were described by btucker in a reply a few up from this one. Photo is by Dave Hoyt by the way Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Quick fix is to have the control lines re-measured and then adjusted to an equal length. If you look at the lower control line at the toggle there should be a portion of line that is finger trapped and maybe stiched a bit. A rigger should be able to take the toggle off and extend the lower portion of the control line to even out the pair. I would also check to see that both lines are not too short now compared to specifications. ZP canopies will go for many many many jumps with periodic maintence and new lines. Depending on your size, the added safety that you have with a larger canopy will allow you to learn a whole lot before pressing to a smaller canopy, in other words you can get away with some things on a bigger canopy that will really hurt you on a smaller one. I am not a canopy nazi by any streach of the imagination but do think people in general dont come close to the performance capabilities of canopies before other pressures/desires take over and make them go smaller. With your Saber I would adjust current control lines length to even them out and look at a new line set in a while depending on the overall trim of the canopy. Scott C. I agree the Knights video is very good. The value is there. If you dont know much about 4-way slot designations the Airspeed set up may be better to get giving it comes with a nice color manual with good presentation of people/slots. If you have some knowledge of slots and dont need the manual the Knights video is great! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=308189#308189 Scott C. Given the manufacturer told you to contact the dealer, have you been able to get them and have they agreed to the rush at N/C to you? Sounds like they dropped the ball on you. I would be sure to dig out proof of purchase. It is too bad you dont have a a canceled check or credit receipt. Hopefully the proof of purchase is signed and dated with a reference to a 6-8 week delivery. Dealing with cash is good and bad, a paper trail sometimes is important. Good Luck and I would be interested in hearing the outcome. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

There are a few pictures on the BigAir page in the pictures section, towards the bottom. Those are the only ones I have seen but I am sure there are some more around! http://www.bigairsportz.com/photos.htm Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I find the Sam has a great glide. Have not had any problems on a long spot! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

How so is it different? Any word? Who is doing the test junping on it now? I have to say that the buzz on the new canopy is high but I am like you, I want to get my hands on one of the new ones to try when they come out! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

It is amazing that as close as Tri-Cities is geographically to Seattle, the landscape is SOOO different. Hope Larry and Bob are doing good out at Richland Sky Sports. Looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks when they have a Caravan in for the weekend! (March 29-30th I think??) Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I think I read that this has been a problem in the past and that thhey are building a second tunnel somewhere in Fla? I am not 100% sure where I saw it but am pretty sure I did see it somewhere. The new tunnel was gooing to be a slightly different design or something like that??? Any help over here!?!? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

That sucks! Send a message to Larsen & Brusgeerd as they might have a suggestion for you. They have outstanding customer service and might be able to help. Worth a shot at least! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

William, Glad the 4.0 mod is working out good for you! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I guess I did forget a couple of choices My understanding is that the vengance is based on Brians design, of course tweekend by John. When PD got the agreement in place with Brian to use his Airlock technology, was that not what opened the door for them to manufacturer the Samurai for Brian. That is unless you are lucky to have a Signature Series, thanks Bri! Other than the mentioned canopies I am not sure if there is another sport parachute that has airlocks jumped on a regular basis. There may be but I cant think of one. Blue Ones, Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Here is a quick question. I don't see many airlocked canopies ( i.e. jedi, samurai, lotus) around in the NW. What are you jumping in other areas around the country/world? Personally I love my Sam and think it is an awesome canopy giving outstanding performance for all aspects of flight, i.e. opening, glide and surf. It seems to fall comfortably between a "stiletto class" canopy and the "X-braced" canopies. I just want to get a feel for both the general feel towards airlocked canopies, and how may are out there! I cant speak highly enough about the BigAirSports Samurai canopy. The canopy is a step above the stilletto you mentioned but still not quite the speed and tricky tendencies of a cross-braced canopy. I was jumping a Xaos21 for awhile and loved it but did not want the ride every jump. Went back down and was thinking this is now too slow! Talked with Brian for awhile on the phone after reading some reviews and remembering back to a number of jumps on a jedi, Long story short Bought one and absolutly LOVE it! There are some great reviews of it in the gear section on this page but also check out the BigAir page http://www.bigairsportz.com/ or more specifically http://www.bigairsportz.com/reviews.html The canopy is rock solid in the air, opens very nice and can make it back on a long spot. I can come in fast and swoop or a little slower depending on my needs and the conditions. the airlocks not only make the canopy a more solid ride in different wind conditions but also seem to stabilize the leading edge and act like a leading edge cross brace. It is an awesome canopy and Brian has a new price reduction in effect,to $1499 I think. See the opening page of dropzone.com for information. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Makes the $29.95 get worse and worse I jsut saw it on Sports center and the guy hit the mat and looks like he was holding his eyes closed. Does anyobne think "One Punch Payday!" I have even less respect for the kinder and gentler Mike. He must have completely gone off the deep end to go in and help up that lacky opponent. I miss the earlier meaner Mike that was like a pit bull. He was most likely, in his prime, the feircest fighter of all time in the heavyweight ranks. Now he is just a loon! Speaking of Loons he was in good company on the same card with Tayna. I wonder what happened with her? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

By the By, Who won the Tayna Harding pre-fight-cat-fight. Just curious how she would do against someone who is not her ex-husband/boyfriend or in a fight with out the "club" Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I am pretty sure it was that show but maybe another episode. It was a few years ago. I am not 100% sure where it was said (i.e. on the presently talked about show) but I am 150% sue that I heard it. I heard it and just sat there with a look on my face of "did he just say what I think he did????!?!" It is hard to forget something like that..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I believe that is an adventure show called "Uhuosha" or something really stupid like that. I think it has an "adventure" guy named Nicholas. I have seen it a few times and decided it was truly un-informed the day they said Skydivers don't need to breath on a jump because they can absorb all the O2 they need in freefall. As a side note they mentioned that skydivers don't jump through clouds for fear of drowning. That is spot on reporting... I know that I have the shows name wrong but it is something like what I noted. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
