Paragliding sounds like a blast...How long are you up in the air? Last year I went snow skiing at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado. We were skiing and a canopy came over our heads.. it was cool but sure bet it they were freezing their asses off. They used the ski lifts to take them to the top so Sounds like their ride to the top was much better than the truck ride from hell... Sweet send more pics if you have um "Believe me! Man that really sucks. I have never traveled with my rig but am going to virginia beach next summer with the rig. hopefully i dont run into trouble like you. I run into trouble all the time with the airlines with my hand gun. I can check it but for some reason they always hassel me about even having it checked. Sounds like you are getting plenty of advise out there. What little advise that I can give you from my very limited experience I have is this... what I do is just relax it a turn and let gravity help my arch...my arch needs work but when you begin the turn take your time and make it count. Slow turns allow you more time to get it right, unless you really want to get turned around to look at your wonderful coach. "Believe me! When I started jumping i used to regular DZ student helmet and the small bits of plastic to cover my eyes. I wear contacts to see the LZ and on my aff jump where you learn forward and backward loops I had a the goggles lifted slightly off my face and air took my left contact. Not good hard to see with one contact in. After that I started wanting a full face helmet. Bought a Z1 about a month ago and love it. No air touches my eyes and I can see so much better. Quiet tooo. not really sure if I passed at 8...I know i didnt have to redue any of the jumps but no one ever said to me you passed AFF. yup, me college edukated, thats why I jump from a perfectly good airoplane. Im an Oklahoma State College Student. Im just starting in the skydiving thing but think that I am going to be crazy in the air just as much on the ground. I think that your on to something. There needs to be more young people brought into the sport. I am the youngest at my dz and im 22. All the others are maybe 10 years older. Not a bad thing but its nice to have someone your age around. "Believe me! Im not to qualified to answer this question but I can certainly help you to understand. From what I know the drogue chute is designed to create more drag and lower your terminal velocity which is making your decent much slower and offers a softer opening. The pilot chute is thrown out to grab the wind and create drag to pull the canopy out of the container. When you are soloing you arnt pulling a drogue chute. If I am wrong someone correct me but I am just using basic physics for the reasoning. "Believe me!
