  1. OK David... Lets jump and smile. We can talk this weekend. Do we have any hard fealings? "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
  2. I like to stir before I cook... why should I be worrying about this anyways. I jump for fun. Not for this crazy shit. "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
  3. ok ya simple... I liked the photo. I thought is was bull that he want me to pick up his ticket "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
  4. David: First...thanks for posting you side of the story and it is well represented. I did leave out some details that I really didnt feel were relavent...like my # of jumps. Who cares. I do apologize for backing out on the deal but I was so excited to see that you had a nice shot that I over looked the fact that you said pay for your load. You said $10 for the pic and $20 to cover your load. Ya I have no problem paying for the load only if I asked you before the load. I really dont care what you payed for your equipment. That is your own business and you should go around telling the world just to make your point. Be more professional! I recognized my downfall but do you recognize yours? You were a good canopy pilot. Enjoyed flying with you but that wasnt crew. We were less than 100 feet away. I personally have no interested in crew and will most likely never try. Little to dangerous for me. As far as my knowledge of my gear, I never said I was unfamiliar with my gear. I am very confortable. I know how it turns and I am sure I have more air to air confrontations than you. Ive been flying for about 3 years doing my share of group flying and mini dog fights. I understand the physics of flight and how to determine distance from another flyer. When I cut back your way I was in front of you with eye contact. I was below you. As you know when the canopy is turned the air is damed causing the canopy to turn and dive. You were in full flight or less and I was in a tight turn. Come on tell me again, why did you have to avoid me. And wake turbulance falls. Please David, Tell us all why you skydive? Im very interested. Enough with the personal attacks... i understand you hard work and dedication. I have no problem paying for that hard work but only if you will be fair. Fair would be in your pricing. Make it known you charge 30 for the photo, not for the slot and the photo. Be clear on what you charge and no one will question you. It will be a simple yes or no. Your out there offering a service to other skydivers who either lack the experience to be a cameraman, cant afford the gear, or just plan dont want to do it. Thanks for being there. If you think you are out there just to shot photos for others and not for yourself, reevaluate. Maybe we can talk one on one this weekend. Wish you would have joined in on the conversation sooner. 15. well jimmy thanks for the post Your comments really hit the spot. Its sounds like the old way is the best and that is what i want to do for the sport. My goal in skydiving is to have fun and spend as much time with the people that share the same interests and enthusiasm as I do. In return I will be more than happy to share my experiences and tricks that Ive learned through my training and fun and crazy dives. To me skydiving isnt about making money but to make life more worth living. when I buy my own camera gear i am not buying it to make money. its for my own fun to watch and share the experience of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. I know all the camera equipment is expensive but really if you think about it you are buying it for yourself. So you learn and have fun with the gear handing out your captured images to friends and skydivers alike until you get the art down. Then the fun starts. people ask for your services and you may be able to charge. I personally will take the money if offered but really I would only charge to enough to cover the charge of the supplies... cd, printer paper and ink... and that is very small. But to all is there own. Well to answer jimmytavino.... I think the camera guy was really experienced. Gear looked well used and he was a good canopy flier but that really doesnt mean much. People learn at different paces. I would say he has been in for awhile. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOU POSTS Check out one of the tracking dives http://www.freetafly.com/videos/skydive.mov "Believe me! 16. I agree with the charge for the photos but my whole point is the way he is charging. I would pay for a good photo but the way he charged was 10 for the photo and 20 for the jump ticket. Thats not the right way to advertise. If he wanted 30 he should have said 30 for the photo, not the other way around. "Believe me! 19. Very reasonable. Tips come to good photographers who are fair. Those who piss everyone off get to pay for the jumps and waisted film "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
  20. ok what about senerio 3. He came up after the jump just because we were close and he got some shots and wanted me to pay for his slot along with the photo "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche

  22. Good point and I was thinking the same thing. But I found out that he has tried this before with others so that made me upset. I decided to let him hold onto the 11x14 that he printed out. More of making a point. The pic was worth buying but not to feed the fire. Ill have another op to get a nice photo for the wall. "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
  23. Damn Right! Hope he wakes up. He had the nerve to say he had $10,000 in equip to pay for. Who give a rats ass. He bought it. sell the photos and jump for fun! "Believe me! 25. I just ran into a problem this last weekend at Skydive Dallas... I bet there are more out there with this same problem and I think it should stop. It was the first jump of the day on the early bird load so I was excited since I havent jumped out of a large plane in so long. Well I went up to jump with a friend, had a great skydive and then time to open. Under canopy I was next to a camera man. We played under canopy and he took some pics... well we get on the ground and he says he took some pics and so on. Later he shows me the pic and it was awsome. Well I wanted it. He wanted 10 for the pic and also to pay for his ticket up... 30 bucks. FOR ONE PHOTO!! I didnt ask him to go up and take pics of me. We just were lucky to get near and get the shot. He really only had the right to charge me for the photo. Not the jump.. So what does everyone think? "Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" -- Friedrich Nietzsche
