  1. Does anybody know when the rest of the Bridge Day coverage is going to air? I searched the Base forum, but wasn't able to find it. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  2. I've had pretty damn good luck with my Safire 139 & 119 Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  3. SHHHHH!!!!! Don't tell everyone... let them figure it out! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  4. Allright man! I'm planning to do a naked wingsuit jump for my 300th! Yea! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  5. So far my favorite is Electric Stars Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  6. ^ Thanks for your concern! I understand that this is the latest and greatest in wingsuit technology, and isn't for the faint of heart. I am still new to the world of wingsuit flight, but by the time i'd even be thinking about ordering a Vampire I'll probably have somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 flights on a classic/S1. Would the Vampire be an appropriate step up from an S1, or would it be preferable to have a reasonable amount of jumps on an S3 first? I have recieved alot of conflicting advice about wingsuit progression. Some folks say that it's best to do 75 jumps on a classic (what i'm flying now), then move on to a S3 or comprable level suit. Others have told me to do ~20 jumps on the classic, then jump right up to the S3. I know that's alot of questions in one post... maybe this topic deserves it's own thread. Either way, thanks for sharing your experience and advice
  7. Mike W: No problem... you only had to remind me 7 times! If i don't see you have a great time in DeLand. You MUST go eat breakfast at Graham's Kitchen in DeLand. It's the best meal you'll ever have, and it's only a mile or two from the DZ. Eat a gravy biscut and you'll be able to pull a pound or two out of your weight belt. Everybody: I just won a PC9 on Ebay for $455, and it comes with a kenko .5, a no-name .45, and a 0.3 super fisheye (that's a $300 lens with a 180 degree range)! So muti angle FF jumps are close at hand If I can tear myself away from the endless stream of film projects, i'll come out and do a WS jump or two thursday, and hopefully friday if it doesn't rain. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  8. Whoa... thanks for clearing that one up Marion... I tried to indicate 2 posts up with the "^^" Hispas, we miss you already! Friday can't get here soon enough! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  9. Does anybody know about what pricepoint we're looking at once PF starts taking orders? These things definitely look pretty impressive. I might have to order one for myself for Xmas Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  10. ^^Damn Mike... nice avatar! Wow... what an awesome weekend at CSS! I had an awesome time jumping and hanging out with the HISPAS!!! Thanks for everything guys, especially the awesome food and funny stories (George... your crosskeys story is a future classic!) Thanks a bunch for the Hispas shirt too! It was nice to see the Foxes again. Congrads to Pam on surviving the weekend without a cutaway! It was also nice to see Rocky and Sherry. Rocky... you've gotta keep a tighter grip on that glass of diet coke the next time we toast! Thanks to David, we'll soon have plenty of freefly footage to edit together... and hopefully i'll find a good deal on a camera in the near future so that we can have multiple angles the next time Marion funnels a hybrid (maybe for your 1000th ) I did my first few camera jumps on friday thanks to lots of great advice and help from Steve over the past few months. I can't thank you enough! Lastly, Thanks to Pete, Larry, and Asaf for getting me up to do some BirdMan! I had a really amazing flight and can't wait to do some more flocking in the future! If anyone is interested in BirdMan, they'll be here for the Thanksgiving boogie with demos! I'll see you all next weekend! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  11. hehe.... YeeeeHAW. Happy Birthday man! i hope you got my message. Anyhow, it's getting late and i'd better hit the sack so's I can get out to the DZ early tomorrow. See ya there. PS... Mike, the video is ready! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  12. ^Hehe... if you're coming to the Thanksgiving Boogie we'll have to get some folks together & have some fun Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  13. ^WHAAAA? Can't go out drinking??? Sure you can! If anybody wants to bar-hop in Chapel Hill tonight, give me a call! I can't wait to FF and party with the Hispas tomorrow! The weather for the weekend looks pretty sweet! See you all soon! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  14. It's all edited and finished... I just have to wait for it to render! i think it came out really well considering the circumstances under which it was shot! MUCH THANKS AGAIN to Marion and Mike for their awesome performances! You'll all get a chance to see it soon! Ohh, and Dawn #1, Thanks for the Moon Ska comp, I used the first song in the film! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  15. ^Marion, if David sells me that suit I'll tye-die the white parts Yesterday's film will be in the computer and through postproduction by 5pm tomorrow. I don't think that I'm quite going to make the 3 minute mark.... so i may need to incorporate some slow-mo scenes. Either way it's going to be.... well... interesting. I'll be up all night editing, call me if you're: A: bored... or B: at a bar on franklin street... I'll come join you for a little bit. Hopefully i'll be able to make the live election night coverage get-together tomorrow, I'll call ya. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  16. ^It's a very interesting experience... would someone with a better understanding of the process than I like to give an explanation? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  17. I've recently been pondering the origin of this interesting skydiving tradition. Does anybody know where it came from, or how it came to be in the world of late nite dropzone shennagians? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  18. Whooo.... yet another awesome and interesting weekend at CSS! After crappy weather friday and early saturday, we got around to jumping at noon saturday, and kept them going until sunset, and we were lucky enough to get a full day of jumping in on sunday. This weekend saw the return of Asaf, magic tricks by Pete Luter (& his lovely assistant, Dawn #1), as well as the usual campfire shennagians. BIG BIG BIG THANKS go out to Marion and Mike I. for all their help shooting my most recent project. Lets try to keep the content of this one quiet... words can't justify the spectacle that we've created! THANKS AGAIN Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  19. Hehehe... a faceplant ehh... I'll see if i can work something out Hopefully Joe or David will show up so that you can go home and get some sleep... that is unless you want to run up to Franklin street and get your drink on On another note, the swoop animation is up on the top of the "Newest Videos" section of skydivingmovies.com. Due to all the weird effects, it's kinda large (45meg)... and that's after cutting the size in half. Cool shit :) Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  20. Alright, i just submitted the swoop animation to skydivingmovies. Hopefully they'll approve it and put it up in short order. I still need an actor/actress tonight to co-star in this whole chase sequence. It's not a speaking role, all you really have to do is chase Marion around in exchange for beer So come on, who wants to volunteer? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  21. Hey everybody! It sounds like it's been a long week for all of us ... Therefore I officially declare tomorrow night the innagural FreeChug Thursday in Chapel Hill! The Swoop animation (rotoscope more specifically) came out pretty well. It's a tad choppy because the Peter's covering so much damn distance from frame to frame, and because there was a bit of camera shake in the original footage. I tried to burn it to a CD the other day, but the computer ate my disk Szabi still has the footage from bridge day, i'm not sure what he did with it. Ohh, and on a more exciting note, I'm taking a screen printing class next semester, so I can make some awesome custom T-shirts and such :) Unfortunately the weather looks shady on friday, so I'm going to have to put the UNC vs Duke skydiving sequence on hold. HOWEVER, I will be filming a chase sequence here at UNC tomorrow night (starting at 7 or so) and I need someone to co-star alongside Marion as either the chaser or the chasee in a 3-5 minute short film. Whoever decides to act gets a pitcher of beer on me! Post, email, or call me (696-1426) if you can make it! Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  22. Do any airplane mechanics know where the general public can get some ACF-50? That stuff EATS corrosion and is safe for electronics Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  23. Wow... a BB gun drive by... now that's stranger than fiction... It's 2AM and I've been sitting in front of a Mac in the computer lab for the last 5 hours animating Peter's swoop from the 500th video... Only 5 hours to go! Why did i decide to become a comm major again? Anyhow, it looks like the whole chase sequence thing will be due wednesday, so if anybody wants to run around & chase stuff tomorrow afternoon, I'll make you a star! Let me know. Back to work... must graduate... Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
  24. That would be a reality chase sequence... hmm... the possibilities Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
