Hey all, So I'm going to be jumping on the 300D/350D bandwagon in the very near future. The prices seem to be pretty even across the board from retailer to retailer, but everyone offers some different kind of service plan. What retailer have you found that offers the best and cheapest plan that covers the potential damage/ loss/ wear & tear that we put our cameras through? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

Yea, everyone come out tomorrow if the weather is nice! The AFF candidates need our moral support if nothing else. It's been a pretty busy week around CSS considering the rain and whatnot. I have been working with Dawn & John retrimming some of the tandem canopies, and they've been up to their asses in pre-easter boogie repacks. Jason M. came by today, still in one piece after his big Mexico-BASE excursion. He had some nifty pictures and stories to share... and he said he'd be back over the weekend to do some jumps (actual skydives, that's rare these days ) Anyhow, the weekend is looking like it's going to be pretty busy, so come out and enjoy the friday vibe. If anybody is just itching for a reason to cut out on work or classes tomorrow, call my cel (919-696-1426), and i'll let you know what the weather's like & who's here. Seeya! I just drooled over the XT at best buy today. It's considerably smaller than the 300D, and the refresh rate seems notably quicker as well. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

Hey Guido, Nice to see you in our little forum again. The weather for this week looks a little on the sad side. The dropzone is usually closed on tuesdays, but it will be open tomorrow because there is an AFF course going on. I'll be there in the afternoon doing a little work for the riggers and could probably tear myself away for a jump if there're other fun jumpers around. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

^^I have a Century Optics .3 on my pc9. It gives a really really nice crisp shot, and the 180degree range is just awesome. I have some really neat video from a 8 way hybrid a few weeks ago in which i was a hanger with the camera topmounted. The 3 other hangers (on chest straps), and all 4 belly fliers were in frame. I'll try to upload that to skydivingmovies.com soon. The downside is that the thing is frikin huge. It's about 3'' across, which makes it pretty much top mount only (at least as far as i can figure). Does anyone else use a century? Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

^No kidding. This is yet another reason that I need to get a digital rebel soon! When we left the tailgate there were only 7 pictures left on the roll and I burned them up before the dock. Aww well... i guess we'll just have to do it again sometime Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

^Thanks Greg This green beer thing sounds promising, when's St Patty's day again? The weather on fridays has been kinda crappy recently... I'm hoping to see an improvement soon (aparently not this week though.) It sounds like we'll have some fun get-togethers going on soon though. We've got the Easter Boogie just 2.5 weeks away , Fondue Friday (date pending), and St. Patty's Thursday (directly followed by "Freefly Your Hangover Away Friday") Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

Hey everybody, I know that the thread has died since Steve's memorial service... and i know it's kinda hard to start a new happy conversation on the same page as all of our condolences, but lets really try to keep the thread going strong, as well as the social scene surrounding the DZ. It's what he would've wanted. I hope everybody's week is off to a good start! I just got the pictures from the weekend developed. I hate to be a buzzkill, but isn't The Gravity Games a trademark of the OLN corporation??? From what it looks like, your event is in no way related... you might want to clear that up for people and/or change the name so you don't get hit for copywrite infringement. I was just about to start an Easter Boogie thread last night... you beat me to it. Anyhow, as always, Easter is our biggest boogie at CSS. There will be baloon jumps, lots of organizing for all disciplines and skill levels, and best of all CASA jumps! The HISPAS will also be here jumping and partying as only they can. So i was looking at my PC9 the other day and realized that the jack on my bite switch will fit into the female LANC port on the camera. I tried putting the camera in memory mode and hitting the bite switch, but it had no effect. Does anyone know if there's a way to rig up a PC style camera so that you can plug a bite switch into it and use it as a digital still camera? Sorry if this is a repost, I did a search and wasn't able to come up with anything. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.
