What??? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
-
Hmmm... I don't think I'll be able to make it, but thanks for the thought "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

That explains why you kept hiding with that case of wine at Chicks Rock! In my experience, Skydivers are among the easiest people to approach at a new DZ. When going to a new DZ, posting it on dz.com beforehand will probably assure you that people will actually be WAITING for your arrival...

Can I substitute for a quart of Jack? I know! "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Thought about using a co-worker as a punching bag earlier. I may proceed... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

I am not experienced enough to give you advice, but something I always bear in mind: you can only go down. Don't go below your target. "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Learned to pack off a hook (part of the A license requirement). Then went to a boogie where no hooks where to be found. I asked a friend to teach me to pro-pack, which took a full 15 minutes! I think for us newbies, the trick is to stick with it and keep packing. It used to take me 1.5 hour, now I'm down to about 15 minutes (well, back up to 25 minutes thanks to a brand spanking new slippery canopy). Keep packing, and ask someone when not sure... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Doesn't take much to get you horny now, does it? Isn't a Canadian playing hockey a pleonasm? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

Damn! You had to reveal it on a public forum, didn't you! Now my cover is blown... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

How 'ya doin'? "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

If you are talking about the invasion of Iraq and not the period prior to it, then I agree. But they're totally different contexts. Yep. And not too long ago, Ivory Coast was being displayed as a model of post colonialism stability in Western Africa. Sad indeed... "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return."
-
How so? I don't remember the French opposing the Americans retaliating when US planes were being shot at during the "no fly zone" days. Sad to see how Ivory Coast is turning into a huge mess though... (clapping so hard and fast it sounds like a drum roll) Don;t know, but based on the poll, surely every single male skydiver is handsome "For once you have tasted Absinthe you will walk the earth with your eyes turned towards the gutter, for there you have been and there you will long to return." -
Free states and slave states before the civil war
Frenchy68 replied to Phlip's topic in Speakers Corner
Born and raised there... It's actually also an historical difference. The founding fathers felt very strongly about freedom of religion. It was what motivated the Pilgrim Fathers to move to the new world in the first place, and the US constitution reflects it. The French Republic was founded on the separation of religion and state, as the church was associated with the evils of the old regime. I think that's a very important difference between the 2 countries I personally agree with this statement, but in the context of US politics, i think it is quite another ballpark...
