advice for someone with darth vader's helmet...
piisfish replied to PackerBarry's topic in Safety and Training
he never said it was a bad helmet, he said it wasn't adapted to that person. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
Do you have to wear a jumpsuit
piisfish replied to jump_or_die's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't think there is a legal obligation anywhere, but at some stages of your formation you will have to wear one, cause it's easier and safer to grab you with a suit rather than your naked skin. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
Do you have to wear a helmat
piisfish replied to jump_or_die's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
depends on which country you jump in. AFAIK everywhere it is mandatory for students. After that, if it is not obligatory, it is highly recommended. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

Hi Tonto, I jump a S-Fly (Salomon-Fly your Body-Loic Jean-Albert-Soul Flyers whatever) for the moment got approx 390 jumps total, 4 WS jumps. For WS jumps I use my Sabre1 150 loaded approx 1.2. I start my opening procedure at 1500 m (approx 5000ft). Much higher than normal... the reason why is as usual when you try new stuff : try things higher, gives you some more seconds to react. Moreover as WS jumps are quite physical, the chance/risk of "doing wrong" is increased... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

if you're still alive you certainly won... if your ghost is writing you certainly lost at the end th ething is I tried to mention the no-low-pull-contest thing so that there is no low pull contest going on. I know several people who pull lower than I did, I certainly hold no record, not even local record for that (400m), and heard of some even doing some kind of new discipline mix, starting with a 2way freefly, finishing doing a 4 canopies/2 pilots CREW scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Greetings, from the people of the planet earth!

Hello Jaco, welcome to the forums unfortunately this forum is only for people who like to talk about drinking beer, falling out of planes, and debating about downsizing or not, cypres or not etc etc... but never heard about skydiving here. Sorry for that old chap scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
Cypress-2 Screen Goes Blank (part 2) $#@%!!
piisfish replied to jmfreefly's topic in Gear and Rigging
maybe not life-threatening, but who knows how it could function properly after that ??? Maybe it could fire anytime... I'd rather jump without an AAD rather than with an AAD which MIGHT BE WORKING... OR NOT scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
Today is the first day of the NEW rest of my life!
piisfish replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
does he know how much beer you have to drink when you're a skydiver ??? and putting on some weight is the only alternative to avoid downsizing scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
a guy at a DZ close to mine purchased his equipment at a manufacturer, jumped it several times, then brought it to his rigger for a check... The reserve was not connected... You guessed it, once the rig had been inspected, the reserve connected, he jumped... and used the reserve.. Now, that's a story I was told more than a year ago, might be a Urban Skydiving Legend... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

You're right. If you don't feel it, don't jump. What's a lost ticket compared to lost self-confidence. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Sorry....another wingloading question
piisfish replied to jumper03's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
loaded at 1.00 AFAIK... WL should be measured fully equipped... I think... I hope my fello wskydivers will backup what I said scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
scary scary... well maybe if this person had a look at the card when purchasing the rig, he might not have seen that the last repack date was false... maybe he should now contact the rigger who did the job and ask him. in any case he should also get hold of the person who sold him the rig and let him know !!! scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
