piisfish replied to piisfish's topic in Wing Suit Flying
some people just seem to care only about the numbers they get out of their GPS's, ProTracks and other electronic devices... And I rarely hear "WAW GREAT I GOT THAT MUCH" , it's more often "OH SHIT I ONLY GOT THIS".... how do you score on the new performance scale : the SR
piisfish replied to piisfish's topic in Wing Suit Flying
The SR is a new scale I came up with, but already used worldwide (I hope) by many. SR stands for Smile Ratio. You can measure it by comparing the happiness on the face of the jumper after the jump and what he/she usually sports on a regular day. I am all-in for the huge smile -
depends what there is to in the air (flying with others, cloudsurfing, tandem buzzing...) or what people on the ground would prefer to see (or if someone else would take the "other way" for comparison in a demo) As much as I enjoy high speed, I also like to have a maximum "time for value" of my jump ticket (just to get my time back from the freefly jumps)

Yea...as most countries do that adhere to international aviation standards...ignoring Swiss/Germans/Frenchies etc of course most of us go metric all the way... but some still prefer to count with their feet scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Angryelf, would your rig (and Vigil) by any chance, could have served to demonstrate to "people who are novice in Vigil use" the different possibilities and how the Vigil works ? Is it possible that this situation occured, and the demonstrator forgot to put it back to PRO mode, without offset ? Yes, checking the display on the AAD is part of every prejump/donning check... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

but that is not the average jumper with the average suit...

anything between 0 and 22000 feet approximately (counting a 0 to 2 glide ratio which could be obtainable with a "decent wingsuiter") now I will let you do the translation of feet to yards, miles or furlongs.. Metric is the way baby scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
