  1. Hey, welcome back mate, Glad your OK. Wishing the others a speedy recovery too (if not already fine). I have noticed seeing vidiots not wearing their helmets, choosing instead to secure it by a lanyard and know this is within regulations, but I'm sure a camera helmet flying even only a matter of feet will generate an awful lot of inertia. Imagine laying on the floor and someone dropping a brick on your face, even from only a foot. I wonder if its arguably better in the interest of others that they wear their helmet. I appreciate the heavy helmet in an accident could cause quite significant injury such as whiplash but thats their personal risk for choosing to fly camera as opposed to potentially harming others.
  2. Was some good matches played today though. I enjoyed watching all of them, poor Ireland, losing the championship so narrowly and on St Paddys day too CHIN UP!
  3. It borders on not being in the public interest so CPS could have potentially binned the case. There was either more to it or they didn't like the idea of Mrs X lining drug dealers pockets
  4. Drug enforcement departments of the police have techniques and equipment to identify farms like this and its pretty easy... but thats all you need to know
  5. Its another one of those things that overdiagnosed. Funny how almost every nuisance youth I dealt with this last week had ADHD and Aspergers It means nothing mate. You've got nothing to prove, its more common than people who wear glasses nowadays.
  6. Best of luck, hope you put on a good show and its well received
  7. All is good here thanks, I hate waiting too. Once my duties are sorted and I actually know what I'm supposed to be working I'll book another trip to Emp. I need to have a good week where I can just consistantly jump else I'm never going to improve or get the jumps in (see PM)
  8. Part of me would be insanely pleased to be on the search team and find all that. But I would not want to book all that lot in as exhibits!!! It would take weeks
  9. Maybe thats your military experience talking. They love all that shouting and abusing people until they get it right. It doesn't work in the real world sadly, people just get fucked off. I'm sure explaining why something may be dangerous or pointing out what may have been overlooked is more constructive. As a newbie I appreciate it when people educate me about things. I like to learn. If I have done something you perceive to be stupid I can honestly say it wasn't done on purpose or with malicious intent. If I am totally oblivious to whatever nearly happened then pull me to one side and explain. When you start doing the whole Parent -> Child thing it really doesn't work.
  10. You guys have afucked up system if you can just get away with the offence. Over here if you go to court and still found guilty you'll incur court costs and probably a more severe punishment.
  11. The world cup is a real different arena to six nations but I'm hoping it will be a good one when it comes around.
  12. People have been negative about England, paticularly after the game against Ireland, but they are a good side and I'll think they'll do it. Your money is safe
  13. Yeah, I know in the UK you don't have to sign any documentation at all. You will however, be arrested if you fail to provide the information. name, address etc If you're clever you'll just go with the flow. Court is your opportunity to argue, not on the streets, thats how the system works. What interests me is if in some states in the US you have to sign or face being arrested what do they do if they have someone who cant read or write?
  14. Sorry guys, I guess someone had to lose Well done England! 26 points to 18 PS - Sorry we injured your main kicker in the first 5 mins ...AND THE CROWD GOES BANANAS! (*roar*)
  15. I love my Wings. I haven't had much to compare it too but I can't imagine anything being anymore comfortable. When I sit in the aircraft its like I'm not wearing it at all. Under canopy its a treat too, I wouldn't mind being in the air for hours in that harness.
  16. Funny you should say that. I arrested a law student once and he thought he knew everything, to be fair to him he was coming out with some really technical sounding legislation. But I personally witnessed him smash up a phone box. Quite how he thought he'd get out of it I don't know. He also tried staring me out but he was only about 5'8" and built like a pipe cleaner To make things worse for him, instead of getting a car to come (I was on foot patrol) I just marched him all the way to the police station in cuffs with his friends in tow shouting at me. When his solicitor turned up he advised him to just admit everything and take the ticket for criminal damage. SCOOP 1 - LAW STUDENT 0
  17. Lol, very funny but you kinda ruin the punchline with your thread title
  18. Why so private? Is it an intimate tattoo?
  19. Yeah I agree. She didn't deserve that but maybe she wont be such a wise ass in future. If you refuse to sign the ticket the officer should just note 'refused to sign'. Its no big deal. Just because you didn't sign it doesn't mean your going to get away with anything. I love speeding cases, people always argue the old urban legends they hear from their friends like certificate of calibration, how do you know you were aiming at me etc. It makes me laugh and its even funnier when they fight it in court, lose and get a heftier punishment than they would have done if they'd just admitted it. I've never lied about anything in my job, I have never needed to. We are all professionals and there is enough dumb people out there to catch without persecuting innocent people. I got a ticket the other day, annoying I know, but I deserved it. Paid the fine, got the points, I'll live with it. What I won't do is start bitching when I've got noone else to blame but myself. In a way I understand that some cops lose it and react in this manner.
  20. Allow samurai swords, give cops guns. Problem solved.
  21. I saw a balistics gel sample we have in the armoury of the damage a hollow point 5.56 fired from a G36 does. The entry wound was big enough to put your fist in but it didn't penetrate out the back which was good in the sense of public safety. I'd like to see what the effects of different rounds/weapon combos would be. Please post pics when you done it!
  22. Wasn't this an advert for lager originally?
  23. Tell them if they have that much concern about losing equipment they should get an insurance policy written up. Shit happens from time to time, they should either accept it or shut up business in my opinion. If I paid you to wash cars I'd expect you to scratch a panel now and again, pull someones badge off, stain the upholstery. Just consider it an occupational hazard. As a fun jumper who can't pack I expect my packer to put my canopy in the bag and close the container. The rest is a gamble of which I wouldn't lay blame if it went wrong unless obvious incompetance.
