  1. Along the same lines as your techincal apporach I thought about opening 3 or 4 different bank accounts. A couple being business bank accounts with really obvious but wealthy looking company names like "Smiths gold ltd" or "bp fuels wages". You would need a fair sum of money. I would say minimum of £2000. Then simply transfer money every few days from your fictitous business account to your personal account with a reference like "salary" or "wages", then out again with a standing order with some plausible innocent title like "billing account", "investments" or "high interest savings" to a 3rd account (so you have an unknown sort code and account number) and then just keep repeating the progress. The credit scoring system the banks use will go into overdrive and youll get offered all sorts of loans and finance. Once you got the £20,000 overdraft and £30,000 credit limit on your credit card spend the lot and conveniently dissapear. Only victim then is the bank.
  2. Sounds like could possibly be my old reserve canopy. Is it a very bright yellow? Sold it in my rig quite a few months ago. I haven't got the serial number now as I gave all the info on to the new owner. If so I had it inspected by a rigger in the South East who was surprised what good condition it was in and also believed it had no jumps on it.

    Jump tickets?

Yeah, I can see myself booking a serious skydiving trip and racking up some jump numbers. Although its non-USPA I take it their are USPA instructors who can sign off licences etc at Lodi?
  4. Well done mate. We need less fitters and more mechanics. Especially in a time where the average guy or girl at home lifts up there bonnet and is greeted by nothing but plastic and ECUs for every system on the car.
  5. Don't buy American crap. I know I will get flack for this, especially on this forum, but having worked as a mechanical engineer where we had another workshop in Texas and as a vehicle mechanic also, my experience of American engineering is that it's piss poor. Saying that doesn't help you with your problem of course. Part of the problem comes from modern idiots with little mechanical knoweldge who like to plug specialist computers into any orifice on your car because they lack the skill to diagnose problems themselves. Years ago you would unscrew a spark plug and look at the colour or examine the exhaust fumes to see how the mixture was running. I agree with you going to find a local independent garage. We never used to rip women off (I know alot of women fear that). After all, how could we perve on you again if you never came back!
  6. Very funny, well done! I'm going to try and get these pesky landings sorted a bit more accurate and do some water training and try to get my B soon too.
  7. What a great advert for Honda and the sport. Great achievement! Brits in Spain eh! Time for the Estrella!
  8. What about on the cutaway: I REPENT on the reserve: NOT REALLY
  9. I know its not a 2 piece suit but I bought a Deepseed freefly suit. I too fall like a rock and explained this with them and they suggested the heavier duty material and a looser cut and it only bloody works! Just helped bring my range down a bit which is great as being a newbie I haven't got great control of fall rates yet so it gives people half a chance to keep up.
  10. Thanks, The reason I ask is I just received a really, really cheap container. Main tray is sized for PD190 so thought I could shoehorn a 210 in there comfortably however what I didnt realise (my fault for not asking) is the reserve tray is sized only for a "micro 150". I have already bought a Tempo 210 reserve but I know there is no way of fitting that in there. Just being a bit optimistic. Time to continue my search for a container!
  11. Sorry to be a nuisance, I've searched the net and couldnt find an answer... Anyone know the pack volume for what is referred to simply as a Micro 150 reserve? Thanks, Sam
  12. Join the USPA, cut out the British bullshit and jump abroad instead. Save yourself a fortune and have much more smiles per £
  13. The only reason he went to Canada in the first place was because back home the French had blockaded everything.
  14. If the IP address is of UK origin let me know. Any one that has been scammed put a report in with your local police. I may be able to do something this end if we have luck with a UK IP address.
  15. I ended up driving two and a half hours to a nice club (when I had one only 10 minutes away) with a nice vibe where to my amazement, they try and get you on as many loads as they can! A number of times when I was reliant on packers the DZO has asked me if I want to get on the next lift and I've looked at my unpacked rig, hes clicked his fingers and the packers have set to it at double time. Another time a fault was noticed with my rig and they wouldn't let me jump it for safety reasons. I had travelled all that way so they let me borrow a club rig for the day free of charge. Now thats service! I really recommend Old Buckenham (UK Parachuting) to anyone. For now though I'm going to keep my jumping to abroad. Its cheaper overall and the £ per smile rate is so much greater! The downside to travelling this far is I would use £50 in petrol for a day where I might only do 3 or 4 jumps on a good day or if the weather turned I wouldn't do any at all.

    UK Parachuting

Well, after getting a bit disheartened with other clubs I took the advice of a few friends I met on DZ.com and went up to Old Buckenham (UK Parachuting) to jump with them and check the place out. After initially getting my bearings and figuring out who was who I was greeted and had a mini tour of the site and had a DZ briefing. To my shock people I had never met before actually made conversation with me, there wasn't the clique feel that you get at a lot of DZs and instead was really friendly. After making a few jumps I loved the place. I was reliant on packers at the time and they were efficient with quick turn arounds. The DZO even hurrying them up to get my rig ready so I could get on another load at one point! On another occasion my rig was grounded and they allowed me use of club kit rent free. Now that's service! Despite the two and a half hour drive there and back I returned a number of times. I'm not a big fan of the UK scene but I have to say I will return to UK Parachuting in a heartbeat as their attitude was a breath of fresh air. The riggers there are friendly too, a few times they pointed things out to me and repaired minor issues immediately for me without charge. I might not be jumping in the UK at the moment but I will still be taking my rig to UK Parachuting for reserve inspection and repacks.
  17. You may have seen the living definition of skygod this weekend
  18. If you have a life outside the sport and aren't propping up the DZ bar everynight I found it difficult to get along in the UK at some places.
  19. Do you jump in the UK by any chance?
  20. So not trying to get cheeky in the back of a taxi then?
  21. He's back in the game! Woo!
  22. Isn't a gallon just a gallon?! Good job I never got that job as loadmaster else the Nimrods would be facing even worse problems!
  23. I bought some Super Unleaded yesterday. It was £1.23 a litre. So if I do my maths right isn't that.... $11.09 a galloon
