Finally got on a tracking dive with 9 others this weekend. It worked allright, except the base didnt really move that much at all, and I was stuggling to get down to him. Speed was not the problem. Everone was everywhere, but at waveoff I broke into a mad track, and accelerated above and further than the others who turned away, did my barrelroll and pulled. I now see how easily people can get in each others way! I gotta say that I am looking forward to many more tracking dives, it was super fun. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Just from what i understood when I read about the Skyray a while ago. You have to get quite a bit of vertical speed before the wing starts flying, whereas a wingsuit starts covering ground much sooner. I feel ya scott I got my dog as a puppy when I was 9 or 10, after my parents swore never to give me a dog. It was the best surprise ever. I loved that dog. No dog could ever be better. The most intellegent obedient sweetest dog. I raised and trained him, spent a LOT of time jogging with him in the mornings before school, watched him grow. It was during this time that my parents knew we were evetually going to immigrate. And in 1998 we moved to Australia, where my dog would have to undergo 6 months of quarantine. My parents decided it wasn't worth the hastle, and explained it to me. I sadly understood what they were saying. I then spent more time with the dog than ever, and when the day came I took him to the vet. I had the choice to drop him off or be with him. Off course I was there petting the nervous dog, I think he knew something was coming. I cried my eyes out that day, and many after. We have had several other dogs besides him, but none compares. I still think about him. That dog was as close as family. I had the dog for three years, I cannot imagine having a dog for fifteen and having to let go. That dog looks like an awesome, friendly dog. I know that tracking dives are considered freefly, but you do not need to be a great freeflier, or freeflier at to all to participate in a organized tracking dive right? What are important things to consider in a tracking dive? If I got 3 other people together, can we simply go on a tracking dive? (provided the spot is changed to accomodate this). The base does not have to backtrack, although if he is good and capable it is better that way. If I can track above and past the base, does this pose any danger to the rest of the people or the dive? But after reading "Getting Into BASE, and talking to a few jumpers, I realized quickly that this sport is much more than many people think it is. You could say that it is a great seperator of men and mice, but I dont think so.
