The man/woman of your dreams who turns into a monster..
Nataly replied to Nataly's topic in The Bonfire
See, but I think maybe you're talking about something a bit different.. You've just told me your ex was a charmer. That alone is an obvious reason you would have cared for him. If he turned out to be manipulative/abusive, well, that's a horrible attribute that can in many ways override the positive feelings you once had for him. You haven't really fallen into the category of people who have *nothing* good to say about their ex - you've just said he was a charmer.. So maybe there was a whole ugly side of him you didn't see at first, but it doesn't seem like you're dismissing him 100%.. Am I making sense?? I believe you're positively the first person to accuse me of being polite I'm sorry to say, but I agree with what you're saying about the passive-aggressive bit.. It seems a pretty spiteful thing to completely write someone off. Especially if you cared about this person.. I can sort-of imagine that it could come out of having been hurt, but I still don't understand.. Some of the discussions (on here and at work) have made me think lately... I've always found it odd when someone has absolutely nothing but bad things to say about an ex they were with for a very long time. I'm not talking weeks or months here, but *years*.. It just makes me wonder.. If he/she was such a monumental a-hole, why were you with him/her for so long??? It doesn't make sense to me.. The men I dated were almost all incredibly amazing people. There is only one exception, and I broke up with him because I found him rude and inconsiderate. But I still think he had *some* qualities - why else was I attracted to him in the first place?? Is it because the person hurt you so deeply that you can only remember the bad stuff?? What is it?? Could anyone explain or postulate?? Have you ever searched Facebook or a similar website, for an ex?
Nataly replied to SpeedRacer's topic in The Bonfire
*Love* it!!! Had an ex friend (not a boy) tag me as a friend about a year ago. This song mostly summarises how I felt. I get the occasional person show us as a friend suggestion, but I've never looked any of them up - I don't care what the exes are up to. I don't care much about any of the stuff my friends put on Facbook anyway, except for the pics and videos of my little niece -

My uncle committed suicide with a shotgun. He was 22 - I was too young to really know him. He had some serious drug problems but he was an incredibly loveable guy and very, very popular - he had everything going for him.. I guess he maybe didn't see a way out. He killed himself a couple of weeks before xmas - his suicide notes arrived in the post a couple of days after they found his body.. He had written one each to all of his siblings, one to each of his parents, and possibly a couple more to close friends.. As soon as his mom got all the letters, she snatched them away from one of my aunts (because she wanted to read it first) and in so doing dropped her letter in the kitchen sink that was full of water. My aunt never got to read her letter, and I think she still resents my grandmother for it.. It was a little piece of her brother that she was never going to get to know about.. I think I would keep something like that. Not to hold on, but because it's the most meaningful message that person has ever written, and if it were written to me, I'd think I meant a great deal to that person.. I would honour them by keeping it. But that's just me.. And anyway, who knows how I would feel if it really happened.. Reckon it would be pretty upsetting.. WOO HOO - just passed 1st part of motorcycle licence :)

That Honda looks pretty good. But did you know there is a 250 Ninja? Even though it's a crotch rocket, it is considered an excellent beginner bike. And I can only imagine how you'd look in all black leather on a black Ninja! Yes, I know.. They also have nice Apprillia's that are (relatively) meek, but they're not much use in traffic and pretty uncomfortable for long trips.. If I lived near a circuit, then it would be brilliant! Was thinking something along the lines of this: http://ww1.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/2009/presskit/CBF125.pdf Not too sure, though.. Trouble with the UK - especially in London - is that we don't have wide open spaces to ride.. It's congested, narrow and everyone's out to kill you.. So I'm not very keen on a massive or heavy or crotch-rocket-type bike. I still have time to decide.. Meanwhile, I can always rent a few different models and see what I like. But my god.. Our instructor today rode away on an all-black Kawasaki Ninja.. That was one sexy bike... I've just cracked open a bottle of my favourite beer - I'm so happy!! This first bit of the test is all about slalom-ing and figure-8's and u-turns and high speed turn/swerve/controlled-emergency-stops.. Next step: pedestrian avoidance!! Yay me! -
Random thoughts.. Think this online dating thing is for people who want casual dating, casual sex, or just *anything* at all - they are so damned desperate.. Not for me.. My friend's husband is holding her passport hostage - he is in London, she is stuck in Turkey I want to help, but don't know what to do. Things at work are going remarkably well - I keep waiting for the "bad news" to come.. It must be coming.. Any time now.. I fail to see why you are upset.. You got laid - what the hell more do you want?!! I was being sarcastic. Come on Nataly...no man really cares why a woman is sleeping with him. *I* knew that, but for those with less of a sense of humour I thought I'd point out the absolutely-fucking-obvious!!! You'll never build great credit this way.. Nobody cares if you borrow almost no money at all and you're able to pay it off.. Not saying it will give you a bad score, but not a very good one either. Then again, I may be misunderstanding what you're saying.. Just seems like you're advising people to pay off *any* borrowings as soon as you get them.. This is not a good way to manage your credit score - unless you are shit at managing your money, in which case you're better off just using a debit card and doing away with the credit card altogether. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "keeping a balance" either.. Keeping a balance means you don't pay your card in full by the due date. For instance, even if you pay the minimum fee, if you haven't cleared *last month's* credit card bill, you have a balance. Now, although *technically* you may always have a balance on your account, it only matters if you don't pay off the balance on the spend incurred in the last closed financial period (ie: you need to pay off your bill in full by the due date). The fact that you may still have borrowings on your credit card in excess of your last bill is irrelevant, as they relate to a new financial period, which isn't completed yet. The way to think about it is that a credit card should help you to manage your cash-flow. It allows you to spend now what you will have to pay off in one month's time. The key is that in one month, you must have the funds to pay off your "advance". Funeral march in my pants. Edit - before I get any sympathy, it's just a tune by Chopin I have on my ipod.. Thankfully I haven't actually lost anyone. It's extremely rare for someone to have NO credit.. I mean, when you're younger, yes.. But if you've ever owned a credit card, had a small loan, bought a house, got a store card, registered to vote, opened up a bank account etc., you are in the system. You will always start with a low credit score by default and you have to work your way up to a good score. So, when you think you have no score, chances are you in fact have a low one. It's unfortunate that people who deal almost exclusively with cash have poor credit ratings.. But from a lending point of view it makes sense - there is simply no *proof* that you are able to manage your money. I used to work in recruitment and it's my experience that when you are honest in a job interview, you can explain away most of the concerns an employer might have about you. Most companies will ask if it's ok with you to carry out a credit check, but few will go to the trouble of actually carrying them out until they are genuinely considering hiring you. Just think of it this way.. Why get a reference and do credit checks on the first thousand applicants? Imagine the logistics of doing this! If you've made it though the 1st or 2nd or indeed 3rd round of interviews and they then carry out a credit check, by this point, you should already have a lot going for you.. Your score may not be ideal, but unless you are applying for some kind of role where you are managing client funds, etc., a bad credit score usually won't be held against you provided you're honest about why it's bad. Bear in mind that most people have low scores - it's only a small minority of people who have a good score.. So if yours isn't great - consider yourself to fall within the norm.. I think some women can get away with it more easily than others.. Some have teeny, perky breasts with little need of support - that can be just plain cute! In some cases, you wouldn't know anyway. Also, let's not forget that it depends a lot on the top as well. Yeah.. I lost a pair of goggles this way.. I just jumped without them and when I opened, to my surprise I saw them, reached out and *just* missed catching them.. Or at least, they *seemed* really close!! D'oh! Thankfully they weren't the fancy/expensive ones! I haven't noticed any of that - I check my facebook most days, but don't actively use it much. Mostly, I see if there are new pictures/videos of my little niece so I can watch her grow up from all the way over here

I can relate. To which part? Being honest or having no people skills? Oi!!! I *do* have people skills - it just so happens that my ex has *better* social skills!
