On the contrary-I absolutely LOVE the touch Interface-for me it was what attracted me to it in the first place. But no flash content? If I jailbrake the thing will it void the warranty? The thing is I obviously heard about the iPad just before it launched... i even watched Steve Jobs demo it on their webcasted quarterly report and was extremely excited about it. Since then I've been pretty out of touch because of mad working hours, my final case study travelling and moving to a new country... So yeah, now that I'm connected again and have some time i'm discovering what everyone else has probably known for months... And I know you should never trust a salesman but honestly I've always liked Mac products so never imagined I would be so limited by this one... Maybe I was... Mostly I was expecting it to be intuitive. What really bugs me is the little stuff like not being able to browse the Internet at the same time as being on Skype, but that is just one example. I think I will try to return it to the store but since I ditched all the packaging I somehow can't see them taking it back... Never owned one but like I said I usually LOVE Apple products. My friend let me play with her iPhone and I just thought it was awesome.. So is this just a big iPhone that is pretending to do more and actually doesn't even work as a phone?? Well, I hesitated between starting a new post and bumping the old one about ipads... But honestly I really don't like it and am wondering if I should (or can) bring it back. Does it get better with time?? For me it just seems very UNintuitive and browsing the web is a complete pain. Am I just missing something? Argh... What can I say?? It sucks. The first thing that annoyed me is that I couldn't just start using it straight away. I needed to download the latest version of iTunes. Well, I don't have access to my iMac at the mo so I had to bring it back to the store to get it "unblocked". Get this-it cost me money to do that too! Speaking of money... I have so far bought an idock and an iadapter to plug in a USB port so that I can iconnect a freakin' camera to it (and btw that is ALL the USB port will recognise). Additionally, I have needed iapps to get the thing going and Skype refuses to work whilst I do *any thing* else... Navigating the web is NOT easier, it does NOT cope with emails better and typing with is is NOT a breeze. Basically is does less stuff in more time. Seriously... JerryBaumchen I think what he was driving at was people's lack of awareness of other drivers. I got my motorcycle licence in December and can *totally* vouch for the fact that LOTS of people start to switch lanes before they look.. Not really, because I had a niggling feeling that there was something amiss, so I decided not to have kids. But it surprised the hell out of me that I might want kids under the right circumstances. It briefly showed me a different side of the coin, but I still think it's unlikely I'll ever have them, and for me that's not a bad thing.

I used to work with an Indian dude who had lived in the US for only a couple years. He took a vacation to the UK to visit a relative who was living there. He came back wide-eyed telling me how terrified he was at experiencing UK traffic. I never feared so much for my life as when we went on day trips in Bosnia.. Those drivers are madmen!! But someone from Croatia told me the same thing about driving in the UK!! Apparently all the rules are for people who don't know how to drive! Yep - I think this is really unfair.. I went as a 25 year old to get my tubes tied and was told no because I didn't have any kids. Apparently, they would rather pay for a lifetime of horrible birthcontrol rather than a proper solution (which actually is probably less expensive in the long run, has fewer hormonal / mood / weight / skin / hair / etc implications and probably will never give you cancer). I agree - people (women especially) who don't want kids get accused of all kinds of things... Being selfish, for example. But I think if you don't want them, it's just a choice - not an aberration!! I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate kids... That being said, I don't consider myself to be childless but child-free. I never desired to be a mother until I was in a loving, caring, long-term relationship once and I felt really, really happy. But something in me told me something wasn't quite right, the relationship subsequently dissolved, and so did my desire to have children. So I reckon under the right set of circumstances I could maybe one day want kids, but fundamentally it's not something I'm looking for. I don't think that makes me less of a person... At least I'm not the kind of person who would bring up children under any circumstances irrespective of whether or not I'm a "fit" parent! Better someone choose not to reproduce for the right reasons than someone choose to have kids for the wrong reasons, no?
