Who, little old me? [cackle] [cackle] I would never hurt my elders (in jump #'s that is). Mouth, are you going to Quincy? If so, would you be interested in a seat in a 182? Let me know. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

Yeah, I don't know either. And I don't have any grudges from your merciless pieing.

Wow, only 6 weeks late. Now Mike won't be able to log so much flight time with the increased climb speed. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

Mouth, you ought to try out Rome now that they've got new owners. They have a super otter at the moment (I think). Broken Eagle, Bird, Chris E., Vesso, and I will all be there. If you want to carpool let me know. I'm just 2 miles off of I-75, 30 miles South of the DZ. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

JT, don't sweat it. All my tandem progression dives were awesome, smiley faces in the logbook even. Then I have my IAF-5 dive which I totally brain locked on and screwed up. Hmmm.... I had video too. I don't normally like to show this video to anyone but whuffo's who don't understand how badly I screwed up. Come to think of it, I also screwed up when my jumpmaster for IAF-7 (Chris Wagner, Golden Knights) said he had a surprise for me and strapped on a video helmet. Can you say back loop into a flat spin? He came in and stopped me and when he let go I started again, so he chased my lame self across the sky and stopped me so I could pull. 100 jumps from now you'll look back and laugh (and burn the video tape). I think Grogs is right. Guys tend to try to show off at the DZ more than women. If you do it right you might impress the ladies, and if you screw up chicks dig scars. Me, I'd rather live another day without painful injuries than impress somebody. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

Don't know how you have time to do anything. I used to work for them and quit because I had no time for me (70-100 hrs/week). The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

I bought this when I was in Gay Valley (or is it Gay Perris?). Anyway, this video is really cool. Didn't like the $50 price, so it isn't as good a value as Good Stuff, but definitely has more swooping. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

Selecting Gear for the Visually Impaired

Wouldn't work. Think about how flat the ground would have to be. If you are only a foot off it's gonna hurt. The GPS is only acturate to about 50ft. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra -
Have fun. I'm sure some of the regulars will be there. I can't make it Sunday, I've got some flying and plane building already scheduled. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

OK, I have positive comfirmation that the DZ will be closed on Saturday. I'm also told that if you show up Saturday night they'll buy you dinner so they can get started early (8am) on Sunday. Also, just found out that the DZ has new owners. Have to see how this goes. Anyway, no jumping in Thomaston on Saturday. I do know several folks who'll be in Atlanta Airsportz in Rome, but that is a heck of a drive from Valdosta. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

Selecting Gear for the Visually Impaired

Are you listing your corrected vision? If not, you can jump with glasses or contacts. Nobody makes an audible like the one you describe. Getting that level of accuracy would be nearly impossible. Some airplanes have radar alimeters (not really radar) that measure distance above the surface. These are very expensive (several $k) and still don't do what you want. Hmmm... Just a thought. I've seen things you put on your car that make noise when you are backing up next to something else. Wonder if you could get something like this and strap it on a foot. Help I'm having flashbacks. Incoming...... (The Dutchboy running) The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

That's cool. You said he got the plane down safely, and it was pretty well destroyed, so I wasn't sure what you definitition of safe was. The important thing is that there were no fatalities. Planes are hard to replace, but it is possible. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

I'm planning on flying up with Brokeneagle, and Bird (maybe somebody else) on the 4th and coming back on the 12th. We're actually going to Chicago first for two days to meet up with some friends, then on to Quincy. Anybody else from Atlanta that wants a stlyish ride to Quincy? Depending on what we fly we might have space. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

He didn't get the airplane down safely, and it was only 200-300ft. Have to ask the skydivers involved if they got down safely or not. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

GPS didn't exist when I learned to fly either, but it is easy to use. It is also easy to tell the winds aloft using GPS. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

Should the mamma change her handle Yes, be my angel No, I need a mother figure It's a free country (sorta) let her decide I don't know/care, but like to take polls The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

I can get my jumpsuit dirty even with stand up landings. A little turf surf on the Georgia red clay, or sometimes just walking back to the hangar shows up well on my black cordura booties. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

There was actually somebody who shot themselves under canopy a few years ago and tried to make it look like a murder instead of a suicide. What an asshole. Naturally, he went to a DZ were he wasn't known and everyone knows that had a "fatality" there. In case you're wondering, it wasn't my home DZ. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

And here I thought you were always smiling from accidentally grabbing the colonel's ass every chance you get.

Thanks to guys like this you have to get 10-20 hours of dual instruction to even rent a retractable! That's why my prelanding check has the gear down in it 4 times. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra

I think I'm at 109 now. Just a couple jumps behind Faye. I'll propably pass her soon, since her leg only allows her a couple of jumps a day. Can't make the funeral tomorrow because I have to be at my office tomorrow afternoon . Rachel and Karen will be there in person. I can only be there in spirit. Our pilot is the DZO, so we don't have any of these issues. The Dutchboy http://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
