I know it was dangerous. I asked him to do a fly by but I was just taking into consideration that he would have been atleast a couple hundred feet over head. OK I done the demo at the main landing area without the smoke. Everything went perfectly, including my landing.. The pilot did a fly by that was so low I saw my new nephew accually hit the dirt because he thought that the wing was going to hit him. I have never seen anything so fucking cool in my life. I did end up with a free Mossberg 500 that niether was supposed to have. The cop asked us all who wanted the gun. Nobody would claim it. Then he asked who owned the gun. Nobody claimed it. Well the cops showed up at my door and Bobby walked up outside with him and started playing the cop. I have been out there trying to make sense of all this for over 2 hours or so. Jamie was freed thanks to me because he has honestly not done anything wrong. Bobby was on Jamie's land threatening him, Jamie pulled the gun in self defense (although he is'nt supposed to have a gun). The cop never ran a background check on either one of them or they both would have went to jail. Jamie's g/f took him somewheres to stay for a few days so everything is quiet for now. The problem I face now is that Bobby has a scanner and more than likely heard everything the cop said on the radio to dispatch. So Bobby is probly pissed and after me now. So my shit may start missing from the carport now. The neighbor is fucking crazy and has a gun. I do have my own guns but we will be moving ASAP. It is almost 1:30 am now and I have to get up to go to work at 5 am. The last day of work before going on our honeymoon. That sounds pretty good right now. What really sucks is that we are planning a huge party here at my place Saturday night after our wedding. There is no way in hell that I will be able to have it in peace now without Bobby bugging the hell out of us and causing trouble. We will be having it at the airport which will not let us have a bonfire. Bobby is mad at me because he does'nt know me and I took the gun from Jamie and was walking towards my house. I just did'nt want Jamie to shoot his brother. Earlier this evening my neighbors had a screaming fight and guns were pulled. These guys live next door to each other and are twin brothers and have shot each other before. They are crazy as hell. A state trooper just happened to be close by when all this went on. I went to the one I am freinds with and talked him into giving me the gun while he was holding it on his brother. About that time the trooper walked around the corner and seen me with the gun. I thought he was going to shoot me even though I had my hands up. I told him that I had just got the gun away from my friend who by the way is not allowed to have a gun at all since he has been convicted of a felony before. His brother who came and started the fight is also a felon. Jamie (my friend who had the gun) ran on foot and got away. He is up on the mountain outside of my house right now. I can hear him walking thru the woods and every now and then he whistles like a bird wanting me to tell him that it is ok to come out. Well the trooper left after he could'nt catch Jamie, his brother Bobby (who started the fight at Jamie's house) is outside shooting up into the woods and screaming stupid shit wanting his brother to come out. Neither one can legally own a gun. Bobby is good freinds with the sherrif and never gets in any trouble despite the drugs he sells and everything else.We have called the police again to come back because Bobby is riding his golf cart thru everyone's yard carrying a loaded gun looking for Jamie and he is still shooting it about 3 shots every half hour or so. Well it has been over 2 hours since we called the police again and they still have not shown up even though we did tell them about the shots fired. We have called them several times tonight about this. Bobby is running in and out of Jamie's house taking his shit. Over 5 trips that I know of now. So you've got 175 jumps, no demo experience, and want to do a demo into a somewhat unfamiliar landing area, on your wedding day, with smoke, having had no prior smoke-jumping experience, jumping a canopy loaded at nearly 1.4? __________________________________________________ Did I mention I am jumping an unfamiliar canopy as well. That made more sense than any post I have ever read on here. The landing area that we have picked out is over 1 mile long (old runway ) 6 highway lanes wide of blacktop ( thermals I know ) and has grass strips on each side as wide as a football field. Yes in front of the press. I am very conservative under canopy at all times. Even up high most of the time. I just like to hang out and enjoy the show. I always open higher then everyone else also. I don't want to cheat myself out of the canopy ride. I know my wing loading is kind of high for my jump numbers and that is another reason why I am so conservative. Canopy size hasn't changed for me since I was a student, I have just gotten fat.... __________________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?
