Not necisarily true...because if you make 500 cycles of the cypres...1 jump each cycle or each time up and down in the aircraft...you are to have them replaced. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

You obviously missed the whole part about the reason I am making freefly pants. It is not that I need them. I have a great JumpBubble freefly suit that I love and that works great for me. I dont want to buy cheap pants or have my mom sew them. I am trying to learn how to improve my sewing skills and this is a way for me to do it and also end up with a product I can use. I want to be a rigger and I know for a fact that sewing will be my weak point as I know equipment inside and out.... anyway thanks Cat for the patern idea. Question though...why was the velcro hard? on my jump bubble I have the two ply wrap where the hook stuff is in the middle and two layers of pile on the outside. I know this would be difficult but wouldn't just a simple sandwhich of one layer each be ok? also how difficult is the elastic? also Nightjumper thanks for the idea of classes didn't think of that. Hey congrats on your A!!!! good job on checking out another DZ. I had a similar problem to your's. one of my AFF instructors as Skydive Sebastian was a complete asshole. never helped me with my confidence at all. the amazing thing is I talked to one of the other instructors out there and ended up jumping the rest of the time with 3 other great guys, Scott, Craig, Sinno, oh and Patrick also....I absolutely love and miss that dropzone due to those 4 guys....but I think the jerk ended up leaving anyway...so tis all good now. congrats again...and if ya ever make it to the midwest I'll buy ya a beer!!!!!

Number of jumps is not an issue anymore on when batteries are to be replaced according to the info on airtec's website... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I agree, the first time I did a downwinder it was not on purpose...but when I realised I was going to land down wind I just relaxed and flew the canopy till it stoped flying. this is probably one of the best things I have learned on these boards...is dont stop flying the canopy till it's done flying...thanks to billvon for that bit of advice...

I dont believe Chris was unconscious...he remembered the cypres pulling for him...he broke his neck in the freefall collision not from the downwind landing on the tarmac... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

My safire was beating the snot out of me on openings consistently. the only time i had soft openings was when I did sub terminal hop n pops. I have an american made safire 1. after the mod, my openings are relatively on heading, and now super soft. and the flare...well it made an already good flare(I never had a problem landing the original line set) into a mongo power band....lots of bottom end. but I tend to not use all the flare available...I'm sure i can lengthen my surfs by quite a bit now with it. I'd recomdend it to anyone. for 95 bucks i got my reserve repacked and the mod done, all in one shot. can't go wrong with that. and Derick takes a look at all the little things that I should have done a long time ago on my rig. great rigger in my opinion. not that I want to test out his pack job marc

YYEEAAHHHHH....3 more days till pre reg...then about 90 or so days till the big show again...can't wait. hopefully the GF will be jumping again by then...she better be!!!!!

Seems to me having it go right through the center is a better system than the cypres. which has the cutter, the control unit, and the processor/batteries as three seperate units. just makes sense to consolidate rather than have it all over the place. simple is good.

Chris..I was giving my opinions on a hornet I used to own. I am now a happy owner of safire. as far as the brake line issue I had flutter on mine until I let my brake lines out. hence the reason why I stated that. it was not meant as an insult in any way on your knowledge of canopy's or on the sport. As far as colored packing tab's this is a good thing to have for newbies in the sport who are new to pro packing...once again more advice for the person who asked about hornets. this had nothing to do with you. as far as the snob issue that was not directed necesarily at you...that was a general term...as there are alot of people who diss PISA without much knowledge of there products. once again this isn't necesarily aimed at you. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

did you let out the brakes lines? i have 60 plus jumps on a hornet and found it out dove a sabre 2 hands down in front riser maneuvers with no buffeting of the tail as long as you let out the brake lines like they should be. about 2" more than the factory marks. I also found it packs up smaller, is easier to pack in general due to the material it is made out of and the colored packing tabs, flyes like a dream, has a bit of a longer recovery arc, has the same flare which is great on both canopies, and the best price is you do save money on a canopie that does the same job as a sabre 2 for half the money in some cases. I also found customer service from PISA to be great...even from SA. just my thoughts on my Hornet...way too many PD snobs in the world it seems... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Ian from aerodyne has already replyed on this very message board stating that it is NOT the same canopy is as much as a hornet/safire/safire2/sabre2 are all the same...slight eliptical canopies... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
