petition for exemption to the 120 day reserve repack cycle denied
skymedic replied to jsaxton's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have seen this same thing that your talking about...horribly treated pilots rigs...sitting out in the sun in some T34's that I used to fly with. sun damage that was unbelievable. let alone packed properly...or in date. BUT since they don't follow the current pack cycle what makes ya think they'd follow the 60 day pack cycle?? seems that the ones that follow the pack cycle are the ones that are involved in airshow's...as they HAVE to show there in date there. I just can't get enough of Conor Oberst. Saw him on the Austin City Limits with Wilco a couple of months ago and now am addicted to this oddly dorky guy who has the most intricate and odd songs. just really good stuff. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Music....I can't live without music. I can live without skydiving...but can NOT live with out music. and all kinds of music...whether that means me playing it on my guitar's or me having fun listening to my 1000 plus CD's and my completely full 40gig iPod with 11,000 songs.... I lost a shoe jumping with Kai last year at Rantoul....doing a horny gorilla at break off time he didn't quite let his grip as fast as I did and I didn't quite have it tied as tightly as normal...next thing ya know I see it leaving my foot and going away from me...errr..I was dropping away from it. on TOP of it I was going to land out too....thank god for the stilleto for getting me back. first thing I did when I got back was take a picture of my feet!!!

ya go to help by going with a fema designated team as close to half the paramedics of some local companies have done. they were dispatched by fema...are doing primary 911 in and around NO's area. if ya just show up you can be more of a hinderance than a help...This is the word I'm getting from crew's in the area. lots of these "teams" are showing up...with no proper supplies..etc..etc..etc....it is a bit of a headache for FEMA. to me this is one of those things that scares me...what if the main ended up inflating and the risers took off upwards snagging your reserve slider and fowling your reserve. this is the reason I do NOT cut away a PC in tow. I can handle two out...BUT I can't handled a fowled reserve due to the risers leaving up and away like that. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

The one benefit to those little montages is that they stir heart strings in some people that can't normaly see the damage without the hollywood look...and then those stirred heart strings DONATE!!! it really does work. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

Bill, Do you think that if it had been the skyhook RSL in the rig in question would this death still have happened? I'm talking about the static line fatality...I would still think that that when he pulled his cutaway...static line deployed the main and he flipped...wouldn't the skyhook still have deployed the reserve? and then possibly have contributed to the death as the traditional RSL seems to have been involved somewhat here? I SOOOOOO wish i could add another monitor to my iMac to expand the desk top...I say that with my safari window at more than comfortable size and having iChat off to one side and my iTunes mini player with more than enough room on the other side. I never realized the beauty of the wide screen effect on stuff till we got the iMac G5. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

never said he didn't...the man is brilliant. But he does not know all...it'd be impossible. but I'm sure he's trying... I know it's standard equipment on the other stuff....but if it's so good for the other stuff why not for the regular vector? by the way...I'm playing devil's advocate here. I have never done drugs....never have even TRIED smoking...let alone actualy have a cigar or cigarette in my mouth.... Only mind altering substances I have been on is alcohol...but that I didn't even have my first taste of beer till I was 24ish...I also had heavy pain medication when i was going through chemo. but that's excusable i'd say.

It was a war against saddam...now it's a war against terror...to go along with the other war against terror...etc...etc...etc. as I shake my head and keep saying...I just don't get it... Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman.... -
Do you think Bill Booth know's all? and also do you think the fatalities in question COULD have been prevented with a regular ol RSL?? I think they could have... although it is nice for bill to offer his skyhook for free....you'd think it'd be standard equipment though if it could save so many lives.....just food for thought. and by the way...Bill Boothe didn't put up the post...Derek did. I just called them the other day to get rid of them finaly...and they must of spent 10 minutes telling me about all these great features they have blah blah blah...I was like lady I already told you the reason we are dumping AOL for broadband is cause they don't suppor the Mac....geeze. it was a super hard sell...fuckin bastards...HATE THEM ALL!!!GRRRRR Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

yep sounds like a good deal to me...just make sure a rigger takes a look at it. also make sure you can handle a 170...ask your instructors before you buy that. it will be alot quicker compared to student stuff. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....

I agree 110%...i've been at some DZ's where first thing people ask is what was it and then the monday morning QB's set in with how THEY would've done it. SOOOO LAME!! Good job and glad your reserve works.

Well considering I have had 3 malfunctions all different and i had no problem's reaching my decisions I dont think i'll change my EP's for any emergency. I knew I had altitude to try to pull my bridle and also had plenty of time to pull my reserve and was under a perfectly good canopy at around 1900 feet. that's some people's decision altitude. when i pass by 2200 which is my decision height that is when I pulled my silver. I don't think there is any problem with my problem solving skills at altitude.....especialy under pressure consdering my PC in tow was highspeed and my spinner on my stilleto was WAY high speed. I can tell ya what I did. saw a pilot chute in tow but it wasn't inflated(it actualy was cocked, it had just knotted it self when i pitched out), reached back once to try to pull it out but wasn't doing anything and as I was on a hop n pop at 3000 I was accelerating and pulled silver just as I was trained to do. I actualy don't remember actualy thinking of doing any of those steps. it was all muscle memory and training. I have practiced trying to clear my PC in tow and practiced going straight to silver. thank god it all worked out for me...

How do they help to crunch video faster? I mean I understand they make it all run faster. but HOW does it do it? or generalized how does it do it faster than my iMac G5? does one processor get dedicated to just digitizing or do they both get fired up to do it simultaniously? and will the new dual core intel machines that are coming next year do the same thing but with just one..err..sorta one processor?
