Steve1 I wasn't telling anyone what to do...I do ride a motorcycle and I do wear full leathers and a helmet...and I live in Illinois where they dont really care. I also dont like it when people tell me what to do....BUT...I see so many people injured that could be alive or not nearly as harmed as they were if they simply wore there FUCKING seat belt...how simple is it....to snap it in...or how easy is it for someone to throw there helmet on when you ride.... it is just a waste of stupid people...but then again...I have to tell my self time and time again that I can't save the idiots from themselves...problem is I have to wake my fat ass up at 2am and fix them though....that sucks..... marc BSBD

I have said it a million times...the most important peice of gear we bring with us to the DZ is a functioning BRAIN!!!!! if you have been partying a little too hard the night before...worked late...yada yada yada...even GLOC type of things can affect what we do on final....this is just a very sad thing.... marc BSBD

R&D, Certification, Advertising, Materials, and the Biggest one I am sure is the mark up to pay for the lawyer to protect them from the frivolous lawsuits filed by the loved ones left behind after someone burns in..... marc BSBD

Bytch, No reason to argue with the guy.....he still thinks Racers are "Failproof"..... marc BSBD

There are far far more Drivers, both motorcycle and automobile, than our meer flash in the pan skydiver community.....So to me this is a moot point... marc BSBD

Many health systems do denie claims, even here in IL, if the rider of both car's and motorcycles are not wearing the appropriate saftey gear.... on the other point...a person that rides a motorcycle and crashes with no helmet and dies.....usualy has too much trauma to the organs and tissues to be a viable candidate even if they are just "Clinicly Dead" and not Biologicly dead.. marc BSBD

Talking to Bushman at the Winter Expo...he said PD has some canopy's out there with close to 4000+ jumps on them...with only the center cells replaced on them....and these are canopy's that have been jumped in Eloy and perris......the reason they have had to replace the center cell is due to sweat from packing... marc BSBD

I believe that Seatbelts should be mandatory and that helmets should also be mandatory...only in that it reduces healthcare cost's due to the majority of the people that get injured due to the above incidents tend to not have health insurance...and the cost's of said Health care to them gets passed on to us as the consumer.... marc BSBD

The reason I have a foot long extension on mine is due to wear on the top skin of the canopy on deployment...if you dont get one you can start to get holes.... marc BSBD

ME!!!!! I have been there...and I was very afraid too if these skydiving people would accept me...little did I know that they really dont care what you do on the outside as long as your nice and love to jump out of planes, helicopters, baloons....... So I say congrats on getting into this sport...but definately take the time for school..then worry about jumping later...It is best to do all your AFF jumps as fast as you can because it helps you retain what you learned on the last jump and to help apply it to the next jumps.... oh and when you get to your level 3 or so release dive....remember to SMILE....it helps ya relax!!! and there for pass..... Cheers.... marc BSBD

The GREATEST Skydiving Story I have ever heard.
skymedic replied to LawnDart21's topic in The Bonfire
Yes, Lummy, you are....but that doesn't mean it wont happen...... marc BSBD -
Not that I disagree with what your saying, But big difference if I were to burrow my T-34 into some ones house as opposed to a napkin I was jumping....the plane will kill not just the pilot but has a good chance or ruining alot of peoples days...The super duper spinetto 107 will most likely just kill the pilot.....(unless he nails some spectator or someone else under canopy)..... marc BSBD

Head down daffy with my palms pointed up.......back of hands are against the relative wind....helps me stay up better....so far.... marc BSBD

Daffy isn't necessarily more stable....alot of people get big turns happening due to a daffy that is asymetrical marc BSBD
