that sucks, i'm sorry to hear it, hope things start looking up for you soon. a friend of mine just got royally screwed by his company yesterday, they hired him two months ago as an account manager, he brought with him a massive client base from a pervious position, downloaded all the info into their computer systems, brought in heaps of new work and as soon as he finished giving them the details of all the clients they fired him, the very same day. he was still in the trial peroid so no 4 weeks pay, no warning, nothing. they told him they didn't want to go into the reasons for laying him off, jerks. Raised a Christian. I’m Catholic and although I don’t attend church and I don’t follow all the teachings and I don’t really read the Bible and yeah I’m not really a model member of the community… I still believe in my Faith. I have believed from as far back as I can remember, I’ve never doubted it, it just feels right. I may not ever be an active member of any parish, I’ve definitely sinned more times than I’d ever like to think about and I’m well overdue for some serious Confession… but at the same time I don’t think I’m a bad Christian, my ways may not be conventional but I know what I believe and I don’t think anybody could convince me otherwise. i'm so afraid of heights it's rediculous. I can't stand on the edge of a cliff, i just freak out way too much, my body wont physically let me. i think i'm afraid of the falling and hurting myself more than the actual height. i feel that when i'm going out the door of a plane i'm pretty safe, i have two parachutes on my back and i'm not afraid of the height then at all.... could be to do with the whole perception thing though as people have noted. working didn't jump saturday because it rained. didn't jump sunday because the weather man said rain all weekend plus i had prior commitments to go out all night instead and so ruined myself for any possible jumping on sunday... then the sun shone sunday morning and i had to watch from the ground. can't jump this coming weekend either. how lame. i should take a sickie i think. yeah i'd have to agree, the first two harry potter books are clearly childrens books. The third starts to get a little deeper and then the fourth and firth seem to be aimed at an older audience. Persevere with the rest anyone who stopped at two. They are well worth the read in my opinion. Definately not the first in the wizard/fantasy genre but a good series regardless of how many have gone before it. I just finished The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I really enjoyed it. Easy read, finished it in a few days. I'm reading Porno by Irvine Welsh, I love his books but they definately aren't for everyone, this one follows the lives of some characters from Trainspotting years on.
