it is so cold! haha, hush, i have a jumper on and i'm inside with heating. my gloves just got a hole in them yesterday from getting caught in my umbrella, it was blowing a gale and raining yesterday afternoon, you can't tell me you weren't cold then! hmmm i'm in your boat with transport, i cant drive (sad i know) so i cant offer you a lift but there is a free bus that leaves from the city on the weekends and goes to picton, it's a courtesy bus, i think it goes quite early though, about 7am or something and returns in the afternoon so depending on where you're staying that could be an option. other than that there is a trainline that runs to picton station and then you call the dz and someone will take the bus out there to get you whatever time you like. OR you can talk someone into giving you a lift, thats what i generally try to do. haha. . Awe congrats to her, that’s rad. I asked my mum to do a tandem on my 21st birthday for me. She’s gone from saying no way outright to… hmmmm how much does this tandem thing cost? So I’m figuring I’ve got about 5 months to work on her. She’s been reading BASE jumping books and watching skydiving videos and docos, she seems quite excited by it all now but she’s still a bit iffy about the whole thing. maybe one day though. . You probably wont take many of my suggestions but never the less here are a few from various genres: A great Aussie band , been around for a while is Powderfinger, they are kind of rock i guess. If you're looking for hip hop I like some of the old Jungle Brothers stuff or Jurassic 5, I don't know if you've ever heard Aussie hip hop... i don't know if you'd even be able to GET aussie hip hop there (hahe) but we have a great group called The Hilltop Hoods. if they have anything on the net have a listen, it's different but awesome. Damn cool for me is any of the following groups... Dashboard Confessional, The Get Up Kids, The Ataris, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New. They are all whiney complaint rockish type music though so I don't know how much of it you'd enjoy, it's definately different to what most people listen to. Electronic music try: The Postal Service, they have one album called Give Up. They have this strange techy, electro sound with soft vocals... just really awesome relaxing music. Another favourite of mine is Radiohead.

Just save a little more and come to Australia you wont regret it. I can drive 10 minutes and be at the beach, 2 hours and be in the Blue Mountains, 6 hours and be in the snowfields (ok so our snowfields suck ) but we have nice beaches, nice people and some beautiful sights. Plus it's the middle of winter right now and the forcast for the weekend is in the low 20s (degrees celcius that is) . haha ANY band touring now... hmm i doubt many people would have heard of the bands I listen to, I've heard both my favourite bands live already actually so i'm content but if i had to say someone i'd never seen it would probably be either Brand New or Taking Back Sunday. Zepplin as in Led Zepplin, the group? I'm not the biggest fan, my brother loved them so i kind of grew up hearing Led Zepplin, Van Halen, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendirix etc. because of him but generally speaking I don't listen to much of that kind of thing. I have the exact same problem, my friends laugh at me all the time about it. I just have no sense of direction, I end up so far off where I needed to be. Oddly enough i'm a superb map reader though, I can give directions reading a map no worries but I can't even direct someone the correct way to get from the main road to my house off the top of my head. And in the dark is even worse! haha I can be in the car going somewhere I travel every day but if it's dark it's like a whole new world and I get lost. .
