Perhaps this is the subject of it's own thread, but I'm interested in seeing what a few different people think... In a scenario exactly like this one, where your gear was out of your hands, and you know for a fact that your bag was opened and your gear was checked out, would you get your reserve repacked before jumping it again?

A little more googling reveals that it happened in Lodi, California in August of 2004. The other party, Marvell Strawn, was killed in the incident.

I took my parents to see it on the IMAX as well. On the same day my parents both gained an appreciation for the complexities of skydiving and forbid me to ever BASE jump. -

Good point. After all, there's no point in doing small things. I'm sick and tired of people making any effort at all if they're not prepared to give up every synthetic object in their lives. Either live in a grass hut and farm the land with a sharp stick or shut the fuck up.
