I'm with you. I've been given my two cars (nothing as sweet as a Mustang - I don't know about the Explorer though - weren't they rolling over ). I fared out with a Toyota Tercel when I was 16 - a big hit w/ the hottie guys in HS . Then I got a very used Honda Prelude (great for a college girl - its gotta' sunroof). Then I got hit and ended up w/ a Mazda 636 (probably great for a soccer mom but I'm just not there yet). I'm still waiting for my Cadillac .... "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..." - Jimi Hendrix

I'm a newbie and have never been to Perris or Elsinore. I just did my first tandem at San Diego and am now signing up for my AFF classes (on my way to my A baby ). Everyone seems to like Elsinore & Perris - its seems that they have great facilities. I'm sure they are both great but SAN DIEGO has to be the best. Its a low key operation with very few (if any) skydiver snobs. The view has got to be one of the best in the country: you can see Mexico, the Coronado Islands, Mission Bay, the mountains and La Jolla. Can't find that in Elsinore or Perris. Any place you pick she will love . Start saving the $$ for when she comes back to tell you she has re-thought her career ambitions . "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..." - Jimi Hendrix

I too lurked at DZ.com for few weeks. I was instantly hooked after my first jump and a little embarrassed at how little I knew about the sport (and also a little shy to ask after a first jump ). I was impressed at how welcoming and friendly everyone (almost everyone) at DZ.com is to the experienced and those hoping to become the experienced. I live in San Diego (and it is probably the next best thing to Hawaii) but it is sooooooo expensive. Gas is currently sitting at about $1.70 a gallon. Rent in downtown San Diego - well they should just tap your blood. Drivers SUCK! But the DZ rocks. Also, think there are a butt load of truck driving jobs in So Cal (probably not too many in Hawaii
