The best thing to do in this situation is to hook up with some chica named Sunshine. She will inspire you to accomplish all you want to do in life. I have worn prescription lenses since I was a kid,,, So when I started jumping,, I wore goggles over them,,,, but did not like it.....My glasses have always had large lenses, in aviator style frames,,,with self darkening lenses...I wear an elastic or a cloth strap,, which holds them to my head very well,,, I jumped for many years,, without a helmet,, and without goggles... the wind blast doesn't really bother me.... and I only lost my glasses one time,,,... I was on the tail of a 4 way diamond,, going off the back of a Casa,,,, and as we got headdown at exit,,, the glasses blew up and off my head...Oh well,,, it was worth it.. the dive was great...

Debris Recovery,,,, tough situation... Complicated by this fact..... With many many teams out in the woods and fields of N. E. Texas.... etc... when something is found... How will they know what is shuttle related, and what isn't????? I bet there will be thousands of metal, plastic,and hardware pieces,,,which will be "found"... It will be hard to determine what is a "real" shuttle related part,, and what may be your standard junk,, which could have come off a 4 wheeler, used by hunters, or off an ATV which was crashed into something,, and left parts, scattered on the ground,,, 2 or 5 or even 10 years ago....Sure,, everything can be evaluated by knowledgeable crews,, but it is my guess that there will be "tons" of stuff that is just your basic ground bound Junk.....so there will have to be a lot of time spent to decipher it........ I was also wondering what total percentage of the orbiter is EXPECTED to be recovered,, and what percentage may have melted, vaporized or otherwise been completely destroyed.... I am surely no expert,, but I would be real surprised if more than 50% of the total package can be recovered,,,,, sad...... Peace be with the crew,,,, and with all those associated with our space program...

My First Date with Nancy! We knew each other for about a week,, I asked her to go with me to see the Late (and GREAT) Harry Chapin.( it was 1980) ..He was playing nearby,, in a fancy theater,,, I wore a tie, but also wore My brown leather Navy Jacket,,, ( which no longer fits ) hahaha ( our Son wears it now)

Better yet,,, stay away from this guy all together..He reminds me of some type of ambulance chaser,,, he is just a middle man,,, As a responsible video person,, I would be very careful about parting with footage that may show a problem, or an accident or an injury,,, or anything which may reflect poorly on our sport...... On the other hand if we have Great footage,,, amazing footage, complimentary footage,,, and it is worthy of broadcast,,,, we should not need this dude to "represent' us..... nor should we simply "hand over " what we may have created...... He's a lurker.. I say ,," If he wants skydiving footage,,He can learn How to skydive,, He can invest in thousands of dollars worth of skydiving equipment, he can invest in thousands of dollars of camera equipment,,, He can learn to be in the right place at the right instant,,,,," otherwise,,, we should be able to "represent" ourselves,, just fine,, without this self proclaimed "producer'......just my $.02

Let's be careful brothers, and sisters...... If we are recording " on the spot video " of so called " TV worthy footage"......Let's be real careful of letting it out of our hands,,,, Especially if it is of a sensitive nature... If we happen to record an accident or an injury or an "unusual" occurance,,,,, our first responsibility should be to our sport and to our friends,,,,, Not to some Middle man,,, who will take our work,,, ( for some unacceptable payment ) and then shop it around and make his livelihood off it... T V ?.... bullshit..... TV has done a terrible job over the years of portraying the sport we love,,, in a fair and accurate way,,,, I say we tell this lurker,,,,,,"the load is full! and Manifest is Closed!!!

Otter load to the ceiling,which was at 4 grand did a two way,,, then vidoed my buddies' opening,, then tracked,,, busted pull altitude "a little" then had a nice swoop to landing.... True, we should emphasize ff, but the bottom line for me is that AFF/Tandem isnt for everyone. S/L may be inefficient, but it still works for many that otherwise would have dropped out for various reasons. ...... ________________________________________________ ........Well if a person tries the sport,,,,gets a fair and real exposure to actually skydiving the air,,, then says "no thanks" fine,,,, but as teachers, and instructors,, at least we can feel that we gave them a true taste of freefall.....of what our sport really is.....Quit after a bad static line experience,,, and you have 0 seconds of freefall, a few parachute "Rides" (all under radio control), and a bad taste in you mouth..... I would reckon,,, that many students,, would happily pay the difference for the more "state of the art" program... *** Nobody ever said that training wheels on your first bicycle was efficient, but it worked didnt it? __________________________________________________ .....Maybe.... A horse and buggy worked too but wouldn't we rather ride in a sports car ,, pickup truck,, or SUV.???.

That was from a non-USPA DZ, with no USPA instructors or USPA rated instructors. In fact all but one instructor there has less than 100 jumps, total. It is Static line progression _________________________________________________ Static Line Is NOT "Progress"... It is "Regress". And all the instructors (save One ) have less than 100 jumps...... How many does the The One have,,, 115?????. Man Am I in a Time Warp or something,????,,hahahaha It feels like the early 70's again,,,, when classes were conducted at the local bar...,, and not only did EVERYBODY jump a static line rig,,,, But it was the ONLY static line rig,,, in the entire club,,,, so we had to take turns,,..hahaha.. Back then we needed 2 people to pack a parachute..... one to pack it,, and one to "hold tension"....

My impression also. However, I would like to state on a public forum on the internet that I don't do any of those things. Anyone want to step and state on the internet that they do? A statement on the internet,,, is no different than something printed in a newspaper... The only thing about it,,, which you can be certain is TRUE,,, is that "someone made the statement" or "someone reported the statement," "someone printed it", and "someone read it.' , as to the validity ya' never know........I never believed half of what was printed in our history books... .as for your question.....Sure.
