If the mic. comes off......then does the camera also have some kind of "internal, back-up mic." ????? 'cause ya' need to have audio..... If a camera of that size is properly balanced,,, and well secured,,, it's really not that much of a deal to jump with it....Plus.. the built in handle makes it sooooooo easy to carry your helmet,, when you're not wearing it.....have fun ....

yes....twice... both while visiting ,,,, at out of town DZ's....... One guy failed to cut away a streamering Para Commander and poured out a chest mount reserve which did not inflate...we were about to board a Huey Helicopter, ( It was an invitational meet @ Wallkill New York,,, near West Point in the mid 70's) We looked up while the jumper was falling and when I saw the mess, and then could make out his hands and feet, I knew I was looking at a dead man... 3 seconds later he was......As we waited to board at the WFFC, in quincy,,, in 98 ( I think) a person had trouble with a skyboard, and was unable to get a canopy open....... It occurred right at that moment,,, but My eyes did not actually witness it..I hope that statistically speaking I have seen my share.....

........then ...was he also a helicopter pilot??? .......or did the pilot survive and leave to go for help....???...just wonderin'... peace

yes. yes. good advice... and "ask" is what i did.. I saw a contradiction between what a User wrote, and what they volunteered in their " profile ".. Apparently it is unrealistic to expect that people would complete their profiles with accurate information,,, You have opened my eyes to the possibility that some information included in the profiles may be bogus......... Now,,,, can you explain any rationalization for THAT???...... As for advice.. it should stand or fall on it's own merit..and the forums are a place where many 'correct' yet differing views can share the spotlight... ....As for an accurate, and honest profile......I think it can represent the credibility of the poster.... How tough is it to answer the few profile questions, accurately????If a person prefers not to complete a profile section, , fine,,,, but "silly replies" & "humorous" answers are distracting, and could hurt a posters' credibility. in my eyes........ because,, yes I DO sometimes check to learn something more about a person who has posted a reply...where they are located, what their level of accomplishments may be. etc. etc. work for Peace,,,Peacefully. jmy A3914

....more than 700 jumps w/o an alti.... then why does your profile show your # of jumps at 20.....,,,, unless you mean Twenty Hundred.....?????? If there are certain items of equipment which help assure our safety.......maybe we ought to be using them......

........... I have an early model sony mini-dv,,,, TrV 7 which has the wide/tele zoom button hitch on it every once in a while .. I take it to a service place locally,,, and he goes inside it,, and apparently there is a linkage,, which can disconnect,,,rendering the switch ineffective...... it has happened a few times.... the problem is,,, (unless you have a back -up camera,,,) you are out of commision til it is repaired........ not sure if other cams,, are susceptible to this,,, I hope not...
