Nothing funny happened today but something happened Friday that had some of us laughing. I work for a Not-For-Profit Org and I have been telling the Program Director that the tax file should have gone to the accountant OVER two months ago. He blew me off. We got a handwritten note from the accountant Friday--from Federal Prison. Its not that he's in prison that is funny, it was the entire situation, like something from a film.I've requested my pay in cash, thank you very much.~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

Thats really sad. Did you get your doggie back? Does s/he trust people anymore? I have a cat that had been abused. I've had her for 8 years and she is still nervous around brooms. Otherwise she is comfortable and content and pretty much the predator in her old age (she's between 16-18 years old). I also had a pitbull/terrier who was rescued from a 'training camp'. She was the sweetest dog in the world, she actually ran from smaller dogs but played with bigger dogs. You couldn't pay her to bite a human. She was loving and very trusting. I hope if you got your doggie back that she knows you didn't give her up to that position. Kids who do this really have anger issues that need to be addressed before they lock their first human in the basement.~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

Whether it be for religious or scientific purposes, there's still a human body hanging around that you know someone is going to poke a stick at. The film you mention was on TBS in the wee hours the other morning. I didn't watch it, but glanced at it every now and then and just chose not to watch it (I was sick enough). Next time I will in order to have an informed opinion of what you're talking about here. Since the film is post-von Hagen studies, I'll just for now accept it as 'art imitating life' and dramatising it. But thats what happens when a body is donated to science (which I think is a GOOD thing--not for me, but for the sake of science). I don;t think most felons really think about politics to much... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I dont' think they think about it much; not only that, I don't believe they are allowed to vote for a few years after their release. So who cares if they get jobs interviewing as long as they are screened and paid their debts to society? I'm all for rehabilitiation. My point is that those (graduating) schoolkids will be voting in the next election and they will most likely feel they have been shafted in favor of that rehabilitation and will swing the next election.~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

We have plenty of guys on the subway telling different stories on different subway lines. I don't give them anything. We clocked a guy down by the University making $40 an hour tax free on any given day and dressing up once or twice a month. I dont give them anything. If I have leftover lunch, I'll walk down the street with it and ASK a (bum) if they want the rest, usually they say yes. Or I'll take someone who is hungry to Burger King with instructions they can order what they want, but no refunds. Anybody with a kid that LOOKS hungry can get money from me, with a warning to get the kid off the street before something bad happens. The shelters aren't always the best place for people. It takes a lot of courage to GO there. And any enterprising beggar (singing, instruments, dancers--actually, they are artists in street clothing) will get a couple of bucks from me. I have no problem with that. But there's a LOT of scamming in Manhattan. I couldn't think of a better place to DO it if one were to DO it. ~~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

It certainly does say a lot about someone when they take a vested interest in getting felons to vote. Let's not pretend that these Democrats are "getting out the felon vote" because they believe that once re-enfranchised, felons will vote a 50-50 split Democrat and Republican! He chose this program along with educating school children on Abstinence instead of Protection.
